If clubs were actually like this in real life, where everyone there knew the dance to 'Thriller' and just busted it out like this.... I'd be there every night
The secondhand embarrassment when I watch this scene is so real until everyone joins in akskd damn you have to have balls to do something like that while everyone’s laughing at you
As SOON as Thriller began to play, the DJ, “Jenna Rink”, EVERYbody loved this; suddenly woke up from dull party; they KNEW and obviously, LOVED this music, such that they all danced in place, squirmed hesitantly, shyly, but WANTED, really WANTED to get out on the floor to join in the all-too-familiar Thriller fun; and DID!! They (I!) all enjoyed a really FUN dance-along!! Fun to see the Boss “moonwalk”..... I particularly loved the various handing-off of drinks, pocketbooks, and then, the RE- hand-offs, before the joining-in took place. 🤸♀️🤣😄😜😂🥴😉
I adore how Jennifer garner does all this while still having the mannerisms of a 13 year old like when she flicks her leg when she waves Matty over, I just love it 😂
Well Im scared . This year is my school reunion this October and I’m wondering it would be awkward like this or something and I’m 27 not 30 almost but I’m almost 30 . Im scared 😱
Hahaha that’s what we actually do with my friends. We would just play any MJ tune like P.Y.T., Rock With You, Don’t Stop Til You Get Enough, You Rock My World, etc. An MJ tune is a bop.
My favourite thing about this scene is that their enthusiasm isn't even acting, because the majority of the cast actually *were* kids when this song came out and would actually remember it with a child's passion.
This scene is so magical. I don’t know what it is. The fact that Garner totally sells that 13 yo girl vibe - the fact people broke out into dance the way it would rarely happen in real life - or just how the stakes were so high, she took a chance, and she reaped her rightful reward. So sweet and cute and fun.
No matter how many times I've watched this movie and in particular this scene the tears of joy just start to flow. Jennifer Garner is such a wonderful actress and a genuine sweet person. I absolutely love the Thriller dance!!! 👍❤

We all did the thriller dance at my wedding reception. Even my sister who is real prim and proper and very reserved busted out with the dance. I mean.. it’s thriller, you HAVE to dance
I loved this movie and this scene in particular. Some years ago I went to my nephew's wedding and the reception was held in a huge dining room with a dance floor. The place was a very exclusive club in downtown L.A. After dinner, Thriller suddenly blasted through an amazing sound system and the dancing broke out. A lot of the couple's friends and the wedding party performed as if they had rehearsed for days. Blew everyone's mind. Amazing to watch.
That’s the huge impact MJ had and still has. People of all color, age, gender, background, and culture sing and dance to his music. Just play any MJ tune and people around would bop.
I’m a totally 80’s kid. Born in 70. My son and his class preforms the Thriller dance as their 8th grade right of passage. He did it 2 days ago. It cracks me up. Thankfully he has been exposed to MJ his entire life. I have the double album that he has seen. But it’s hard for my straight A white boy to master the Thriller dance. Hell, my white self can’t do it either, but I can sure sing the hell out of it. It’s just so good. MJ will always be my fave. And the fact that after all of these years, kids still practice and do this dance tells you all we need to know about MJ. Legend.

I fell for Mark Ruffalo with this film. It's so cliché and sort of a dumb teenage movie but it taught me valuable lessons as a kid: 1. No.2 Sometimes your best friend can be the love of your life and no. 3. Michael Jackson can always cheer up a dull party.
