- The ZGMF-X23S Saviour Gundam is one of ZAFT's five Second Stage Series mobile suits, and like other machines of the series, it inherited the basic performance of the ZGMF-X10A Freedom Gundam and the ZGMF-X09A Justice Gundam, making it superior to the ZAFT's mass production MS in CE 73, the ZGMF-1000 ZAKU Warrior. The design of the Saviour Gundam emphasizes mobility, and not only does it demonstrate high aerial combat capability in MS mode due to its two large wings, it can also transform into a fighter jet-like mobile armor (MA) mode, which has higher acceleration and cruising speed.
With sensor-type devices mounted at the top, the Saviour's head is reminiscent of the GAT-X303 Aegis Gundam's. The Saviour excels in hit-and-run attacks using a combination of its MS and MA modes and is armed with a beam rifle, a shield, two beam sabers, two CIWS guns, two machine guns as well as a pair of beam and plasma beam cannons. It can also operate in space and is equipped with a new form of Phase Shift armor known as Variable Phase Shift armor as well as a battery that can be recharged during battle using the Deuterion Beam Energy Transfer System. As with the ZGMF-X24S Chaos Gundam, the Saviour Gundam is based upon a similar prototype unit, in this case the ZGMF-YX21R Proto-Saviour.

こことローエングリンゲートは文句なしに隊長して、セイバーの能力を発揮できていたと思う
ガイアの行動完全に読み切って無駄なく動き封じたのは格の違いを感じた
ダルマにされた同情票がいくらかあったとしても、個性たっぷりで活躍にも恵まれてたイージスより人気投票で上位にいたのが嬉しかった
ビジュアル的にもカッコいいのに、アスラン機の中では作中外で最も不遇な扱いを受けてる哀しきガンダム。
変形時のフォルムとかも考えればＺガンダムを彷彿としてしまうからもっと活躍してほしかった
フリーダムガンダムにバラバラにされてしまったり、スパロボZ・PS2は脱走したとこでデスティニーガンダムとレジェンドガンダムに襲われるという悲惨なモビルスーツであります……

でもそこは似てても会話は実際似て非なるものなのも面白いからな、ラクスとキラはあくまで選択肢を出してあとは自分で考えて動く形だけど、議長とアスランの場合は選択肢を与えてるようで実はこれしかないって言って相手をうまく誘導してるのがポイント高い。わざとミーアに合わせたり、ディアッカイザークに会わせるのもザフトに入れるためだしな。本当腹黒たぬき。

これに関しては狙ってやってるからね、コメンタリーでわざと同じような演出にしたとして、ラクスとキラのやつとアスランと議長の同じように見えて実は色々違うという演出を兼ねてるから
セイバー乗ってる時のアスランはパッとしないようなイメージがあるけどローエングリンを討て！のゲルズゲーを撃破するシーン好き...なんなら素のインパルスの活躍とそのあとのアスランとシンのやりとりも好きで思い出深い
Probably best-looking transformable MS of SEED era as a whole. The simplicity of transformation and the MA mode is criminally underrated.

セイバー…出た当時は間違いなく空中戦最強の機体だったんだよね、VPS装甲が赤ながらプラント本国からオーブ経由でカーペンタリアにあっさり行ける程燃費が良い。
さらに、よくフリーダムに達磨にされたのが引き合いに出されるが、核動力のフリーダムよりパワーが上なのがキラ種割れ時に描かれてる(セイバーがシールドを押し込んだ際にフリーダムはサーベルごと圧されてる。最もキラはそれを計算してシールドを捨ててのカウンター叩き込んだが)
計算かは分からんけど、キラはシールドわざと捨ててるっぽいね
変形がめちゃくちゃスムーズでカッコいい

well savior went up against a nuclear powered suit, which was not just a lot more powerful in terms of strength and firepower, but also speed. and athurun was no in the right mind during that battle
The savior in ms mode really does just look like a standard gundam, tho it's heavily influenced from the aegis.
But its MA mode is probably what makes it really cool, a simple transformation with a very sleek appearance. Plus i can follow its transformation compared to the murasame.
Some about 1st half SEED Destiny action scenes that flow so much better than the 2nd half ones. The action with all thw transformation of the ZAFT Gundams were peak
I've heard SEED Destiny had budget issues or something. That would probably cause some issues in animating action scenes. It's noticeable with the Justice and Akatsuki using the same movements when using beam sabers. It shows they were reusing the same animation, just changing which Gundam was being shown.

フリーダムは種のラストバトルで散って終わりにして欲しかったし一旦フリーダムじゃない機体を挟んでくれた方がストライクフリーダムのフリーダムが帰ってきた感がより強くなってよかったと思うのよ
ムラサメをフリーダムっぽく改造orフリーダムカラーに塗装した機体に乗って欲しかった…。

One of the MS that got way to destroy too quickly. It’s true the savior it’s probably not stronger compared to the freedom, but it at least should’ve done some damage things to the fact how quickly and how strong its weapons are and it has an amazing pilot behind the cockpit and it need a new HG and MG.

めっちゃバラバラにされてるけどキラとしては、アスランに対しての怒りの他に、前作のイージスとのラストバトルの事もあってあそこまでしないと手痛い反撃を食らう可能性も考慮したのかも
他的狀態已經跟SEED的核能一拚，他大概只缺核能，不然光用兩門砲加上手上的光束槍已經非常強了。 (前提是對手不是拂曉鋼彈)

@@YiminyCricket I heard the suggestion thrown out that instead of being a Justice, Rising Freedom's partner unit should've been a Savior successor, Immortal Savior or something like that, seeing as it honestly has a lot in common with the Savior compared to any Justice unit (the main color, no Fatum (whatever IJ Type-2's is called, it's basically a Fatum), a transformation...). Could've been a cool way to do it imo, though it perhaps brings its own problems.

The Saviour Gundam could've been a very high performance, fast Mobile Suit that could've rivaled the Freedom Gundam, instead was wrecked and Athrun didn't use it to its full potential.
True however no one can perform at their best when they're conflicted or not fully vested or fully understand exactly what they're doing or who they're working for. Athrun was conflicted the entire time he piloted that thing even if you go back to the early ages of Gundam seed Akron in the Aegis never use the ae just till it's fullless because he was conflicted as well given his close friend working for the enemy he could not understand it however in the strike versus egis fight after his comrade was killed he had resolved to 100% kill Kira And it seems like anytime he gets into the Justice Gundam his resolve motives and goals are clear which is why he's always performed at his absolute best in the Justice Gundam.

A criminally underrated Gundam. Its deaign is without doubt one of the best in the Seed series IMO. It didnt need to be trashed by Kira the way it did and people couldn't be bothered to repair it during the series. Such a waste of a Gundam.
But hey, just another victim of seed Destiny bad writing.

しかし…しれっとやってるけど赤と言うPS装甲で最も耐久力が高く消費電力も多いらしい設定でフリーダム初戦並の航行距離を高速移動した挙げ句大気圏降下までやってのけてその後そのままムラサメと好戦した後ようやくジブラルタ基地まで飛んでもバッテリー切れしないって容量相当だよな…
いや被弾してないから消費そうでもないのはそうなんだけど
とりあえずフリーダムとほぼ同じことが出来るくらいには容量に余裕あるんだなって…
バッテリー用に改良されてるおかげでビーム砲もアホみたいに電力食わんし変形で巡航速度も上がるから長距離移動もできる。コスパ良い代わりに器用貧乏な機体だけど逆に上手く使えば継戦能力高いってのをアスランは体現してくれてるよね。
