Are the practice swings that you are doing when feeling the whipping motion with 2 arms the same as a driver swing that you would do when hitting the ball?
Excellent ideas for getting the downswing motion into shape but I don't understand the advice to whip the club around to the left. If the motion is allowed to reach its natural conclusion I don't see how the club could fail to whip around to the left. And at 7:20 you'd need a go go gadget extensible left arm to connect with the right hand 🙂
Yes correct! One of those things that keep the left arm pulled taut through the downswing. And you'd be surprised how many people don't whip around to the left.
Steve, is this one of the "more a feel than a 'real'." ideas? If I actually get my elbow in front of my hand when the elbow is at my front pocket ,, the whole club is so far behind it will never catch up without flipping everything forward.. and I do mean flipping.
Finally found my swing, thanks buddy!
I tend to internally rotate my right elbow/shoulder. This video is very enlightening and helpful. Thank you!
Great drill thank you from Sydney Australia
Great information! Exactly what I needed!
I like the feeling of keeping right palm facing skyward which gets the trail elbow leading.
Nice.
Great video coach!
The elbow first move can happen naturally when directing your swing path to the outside of your target line.
This. I was told to swing out to right field.
Right field is a feeling. It works wonderfully for many. The club arcs to center at impact, and back to left field after impact.
Steve please do a video called ‘ My Left Foot’. I think it is the life and sole of your swing!
HA!
Steve, Another way of asking does it feel like the body is following the hands ?
Like a truck pulling a boat and the tow cable is taut.
Hey Steve, would this "feel like" swinging with the upper body if you are used to thinking about the hip as the first move ?
The hips should help you trigger this.
combining this elbow position with a throwing motion from the top is stumping me, but overall I'm making good progress....
Yes it has to feel rhythmic and connected. Go back through the step by step again. Start with a skill you already know (rock skip).
How does this work with the throw back and out in previous videos.
They work together in sequence.

The same general feeling for sure.

So does the right arm end up driving the downswing in combination with hip turn then?
Gotta turn while you whip the arm and wrist.
I’ll bet folks struggling w this have their right hand too on top of the club. Right Elbow is pointing to the right rather than down at address.

True.
My trouble with leading with my trail elbow is that I feel like I'm leaving the club face hugely open.
Yes. Must activate the clubhead throw early.
Mr. Pratt, does this means the left arm is not doing anything? No pulling motion at all?
The pivot and turn will pull the left arm through.
@@Inmotion70 struggling to incorparate right arm throw. On occasion where I do hit one good, the balls went far and straight 🤣
makes it look so easy 😀 but it's not
Throwing a flat stone onto a lake for skipping.
don't jam it; just turn it out!
