  • The McDonnell Douglas (now Boeing) F-15 Eagle is an American twin-engine, all-weather tactical fighter designed by McDonnell Douglas to gain and maintain air superiority in aerial combat. It is among the most successful modern fighters, with over 100 aerial combat victories. Following reviews of proposals, the United States Air Force selected McDonnell Douglas' design in 1967 to meet the service's need for a dedicated air superiority fighter. The Eagle first flew in July 1972, and entered service in 1976.
    The Eagle has since been exported to Israel, Japan, and Saudi Arabia, among other nations. The F-15 was originally envisioned as a pure air superiority aircraft. Its design included a secondary ground-attack capability, that was largely unused. The design proved flexible enough that an all-weather strike derivative, the F-15E Strike Eagle, was later developed, entering service in 1989. The F-15 Eagle is expected to be in service with the U.S. Air Force past 2025. Newer models are still being produced for foreign users. The F-15 production line is set to end in 2019, 47 years after the type's first flight.

      If I can ask a question please, air brushing isn’t working for some reason. I got fine trigger movement and with a rod but no air, I see the air gurgling in the bell but no output of even thinners. Took it apart a dozen times but no go. Any tips or fix would be grateful. Most annoying.
      Thanks.

    Another master build! No surprise there. Just beautiful work! What I am surprised to see is that Great Wall Hobbies would allow a seam line to be cast into a canopy. You taught ANYONE who had the pleasure of seeing this video, who should happen to run into an issue like this with a canopy or ANY clear part how to fix that imperfection just like the PRO you are, Great build!!!!

    The video was too long for me to watch all of the build properly, but I did watch parts here and there..after all, that's what modelling is all about, isn't it?? 'Parts'.. :) Either way, the end result is beautiful, and I like the nose art, which makes it a bit different from most other F-15's.. :) Another stunning model for your ever increasing collection! Nicely weathered, it looks just right.. :) :)

    Hi Alex, I might suggest that you can get sharper lines when you mask the models if you will apply a light coat of clear
    along the edge of the masking tape where the color line is supposed to be. Let dry. The clear will prevent the color coat
    from bleeding under the tape. Excellent videos. Bill G Linwood Kansas USA

    excellent results, and enjoyed the vid. i like them when they show the whole build like this,..cool. Also good to know that filter works well on grey aircraft. Would you use that one for say the 109 as well?

    • @AlexModeling
      @AlexModeling  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      it can harm it mate! i only use a very very very veeeryyy thin layer of filter... on the 109 i would sugest a sludge wash and then clean it! works better and also acts as a filter:)

  • @PhuVet
    @PhuVet 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Nice build.
    Just for info sake...the F-15's gear bays close even with the gear down. The manual is wrong on having them open. They close after the gear drops so the plane doesnt get drag from low pressure points in the bays. They learned this during the streak eagle project. The only time the boys will be open and left open is when they are performing maintenance or when they put the gear props in during extended grounding periods. This keeps the hydraulics from losing pressure. So 90% of the models are wrong when they show f-15s with the doors open. It's the same thing as showing flaps neutral on Russian aircraft when powered down...which is also incorrect on most of them....the flaps lose pressure immediately and droop down because they require electricity to hold them to neutral.

    Uh that’s just an E model without conformal tanks. A/B and C/D models aren’t tail numbered that way. Also if it is a B/D model then he used the wrong tail number and also the base used which is Seymour Johnson doesn’t have any A/B/C/D models in the gold squadron if they have any at all
