99% of the time he is welding not propping on anything and is steady as a rock. That is very difficult to keep it straight as demonstrated here. Simply amazing.
I have a hard time freehand welding, I mig weld which I’m sure is even easier to freehand compared to tig. I build 53’ enclosed trailers like nascar stuff and truck pull stuff, shit for Porsche and Michelin, cooper tires, KTM, and other stuff, right now building pods for Three Olives, built stuff for Chick-fil-A! I’ve always wanted to learn to tig tho, we do some tig like aluminum handrails and fuel tanks, some stuff on the lift gates are aluminum to. Just don’t have the time to learn at work or even after work since we only have 1 morning shift

Work on 120/240 i try the 120 at around 100 amp the breaker trip, i want to test it on 240 before i leave my current job. I try welding steel 3/16 thick at 100 amps on 120 and it wasn't enough maybe i should have try aluminum can.
Can confirm tig button is life changing. Got one for tacking stainless exhaust on the car, Now I don't even use a pedal anymore. So nice when you need to stand for a weld, or anything really.

this guys basic demonstration on how to use templates is amazing.... I used to work in a fabrating shop and would occasionally tig weld. it was one of the greatest learning experiences of my life.... thanks again for the good memories and flashbacks... TOP notch work !!!!!
Came here randomly and although this was an amazing piece of work, i was absolutely captivated by the stubby scissors. FFS how did I make it through so many decades of life without realizing I really have no need for 80% of a scissors length. I am about to get medieval on about a half dozen scissors in my house.

Old, practiced hands can make works of art using the crappiest equipment. I knew a welder, Tan, in ChoLon, SaiGon, now retired, who specialised in heavy metal welding such as as railway wheels, nut & screw washing barrels, boat propellers (up to 1.5M), etc. Had muscles of steel and did all his work sitting on stools outside his workshop. His work was so good his customers ranged from boat yards to government agencies to industrial manufacturers - all done with an ancient welder and his talent acquired through years of work. May you have a long retirement Tan.
God this is some high quality work, all of the little steps you do to avoid any small aluminum particles from getting inside to the robot looking beads. Incredible. Love the video man.
You should really ask yourself as to why watching this guy fab is so interesting. For me it's admiring a highly skilled craftsman who has perfected his craft create masterful pieces executed with perfection.
I really like watching your fabrication and welding techniques, I also was, at one time well versed in TIG welding of Aluminum, I learned all that I could, while now I am an old timer, the old timers of my time, knew it only as Heliarc welding, they really knew their stuff and helped me to become ardent professional. Keep those videos coming, I think they help newcomers in learning the trade. Keep up the good work!
I bought one of the first inverter bread box china made tig units years ago (DC) only of course. Bought my first full size AC/DC unit late last year, the quality is okay but its doesn't have the adjustments you need to do the kind of work you see in this video. It seems like the quality of these inverter machines change and improve every 6 months or less and as I gain more confidence I want more capabilities in my machine. I will be ordering a new machine just as soon as I finish writing this. I've watched this video before but watching it again pushed me off the fence because I know the machine I have can't produce anything like what your doing. The new machine will have better processes but the operator will still have a long way to go. And, I'm only a hobbyist who has been stick and mig welding for 50 years. Love your work and your videos. Gotta run, I hear Amazon calling my name.......
A lot of people don't realize that you can use air to cool your parts down with like stainless and aluminum to help with the warping that's one reason I like you is you know all those little tricks like that

Beautiful work this was my life at a job i had , tig welding Prototype aluminum heat exchanger's together , Weld, Machine and fabricate , in the auto industrie .awesome job with that torch and filler rod.

LOL - I love how you weld circular end caps on the inter-cooler INSTEAD of simply using fittings, I guess when you can weld anything perfectly like yourself that's the easier option ;)
Except so much care was put into keeping the intercooler clean from chips. ...then weld caps on the ends for the pressure test. Cutting them off would contaminate the intercooler with tons of chips.

@Charlie Blanchard, do you have any adjustments on your helmet? A decent helmet with speed glass shouldn’t let you get flashed when you start the arc.
