HANDS ON HISTORY - ARMOR

Plate armor was developed to defend against weapons on the battlefield during the Hundred Years’ War. As a new type of armor, it was an incredible technological achievement created through heat-treated metal and a rigid shape that made it lighter and stronger. Plate armor made the wearer invincible, and it became not only a weapon, but also an expression of power and prestige for those that could afford it.
