My limited experience is that themed slots are set to be loose initially, to attract attention and create word-of-mouth interest. It's easier to describe a James Bond' slot than to identify a generic Drums and Dragons slot, so people will tell friends, "Play the James Bond slot't. After a few weeks, then the theme slot is tightened up, to reap the benefits of the increased play.

Themed slots only pay if you get into the bonus. The game line hits are usually very low. So you need money and patience!
