Thanks for the video. It is a great help. It is also good to check the voltage on the fuse 11 under the bonnet as the relay powering that circuit also has a tendency to fail.
Thanks to your video i was able to save a good £300 which is what the mechanics quoted me, in the end my problem was just a corroded wire on the resistor i replaced it and its as good as new! Thank you So Much!
Thank you for the extra info Mrs Mechanic, eventually clicked into place then replaced fan and the whole system worked when I turned the engine over including the Air Conditioning. For a £3.40p resistor from Ebay you saved me quite a bit of money. Thank you again very much, you are an angel. Regards Mike X.
I had problems with the resistor and the blower, you can watch it in my channel. I subscribe your channel waiting the next problem with the peugeot 307 😉
Thank you very much just fixed mine in time for the Beast from the East. Was the resister. Verified that blower worked ok using 6 C type batteries taped together and some spare wire.
The setup described is for the Mark I 307 produced till 2005. Later 307 version has a completely different configuration. Also the exact setup in terms of components depends on whether you have climate control or manual airco. The mark II model uses a module (climate control) or resistor (manual airco) just below the shaft where you install the blower fan.
Replaced the terminal block from the blower as suspected a dry joint, air conditioning system working again, fingers crossed. does the blower keep the fan resistor cool in the tunnel? as I felt it and it was quite hot. Regards Mike.
Hi again Mrs Mechanic, spot on with the diagnosis, today I got a torch into the tunnel that houses the Blower and found the blower resistor wiring loom and terminal was burnt. Have ordered a new loom and terminal and replace. Just another question: there is not enough room to replace the loom from the passenger well, will I have to approach this from the driver side well? Regards Mike.
Hi Mike! Glad you have found the problem :) Yes I think you'll have to go in from both sides in that case, or you will need to take the centre console off. I would do another video but I don't have this car anymore. I just did a quick search and found this one: th-cam.com/video/TpY2xJz3MYg/w-d-xo.html I hope that helps a little. Good tip there about attaching the new loom to the old one when pulling it out! Good luck :)
I dunno how you twisted it out. Trying to get mine out now and eitha I'm missing something or you have the strength of 10 tigers. The screw you took out on mine is already gone but it won't budge.
Hey, my dads Peugeot 307, 2007 his blower works fine but the air coming out is only cold, any ideas? I know this vid is very old but I’ve looked everywhere for a solution, taken the center console out, the lot!
I have resister problem taken panels of on driver side press recuclation button carnt see green resistor at all looking near curcilation motor am I looking in wrong place or maybe my resistor as blown up
Hi Mrs Mechanic, I have followed everything you said, got the resistor out (found the fult on it) replaced it but am having trouble twisting the resistor housing back in, any more info?
Mike Griffin if I remember right, to get it back in you need to have it slightly angled to the right so that when you've got it in place, you straighten it up (twist to the left) so that it locks. Hope that helps!
I've recently had the same issue on my Peugeot 308 (2008). The fan works when the car is cold, but when it heats up (specifically on a hot day), the fans seem to almost stop despite being on full. That being said, the motor does still turn, just much lower than it should when it's hot. I've checked the wires running to the blower, and we're getting a solid 14V to the blower motor when the fan is activated. Could this be a resistor issue, or more likely to be the blower motor needing replacement?
Hi Andrew, it does sound like more of a resistor/wiring issue if the fan is working. Maybe when it's hot, the wires or resistor are shorting out. Do you have a/c?
Hi, I’m having the same problem, only the fan works when it’s hot climate, but when it’s really cold, doesn’t. I’ve sprayed some contact spray and some wd40, it worked for a while, now it’s dead. It can’t be the fan. I’ve had this problem since last year, I’ve changed the fan but I was stupid not to tell the mechanic to change the resistor too. Seeing how much trouble you’ve had changing the resistor, with my patience and my hotdog fingers, burning the car seems like a better option for me :)) kidding. I’ll order the resistor and try to give it a go. I live in Norway and going to car service costs an arm and a leg so I better try to do it myself. If I won’t succeed I’ll post a video with me blowing up the car :))) Thanks for your video !
Hello, your video is very helpfull. I have a C4 with clim (auto) problem, the blower doesn't want to turn. I test it in direct on battery and it runs. I test the connection and i have a tension, regulation seem ok with voltmetre. i change the controle module... All fuse are ok. Do you have an idea about the origin of my pb? Thanks a lot
LoïcT, so sorry I only just read this. Did you fix it? Someone else on here has a similar issue and I think it may be the wiring loom which has over heated.
Hi Simon, yes the motor had to come out. Some have said they could get access from the other side (drivers) so if you've already tested the motor maybe have a look if the panel on that side in yours comes off?
Hi again Mrs Mechanic, new resistor lasted about 3 weeks then the blower stopped blowing last Sunday, thought it was the new resistor at fault and emailed the ebay shop I bought it from, they said it could be everything but the resistor, wiring, loom, thermos fuse etc.The blower works on a separate battery direct, I did have a voltage at the terminal that attached to the blower but not now. Checked F18 fuse connected to the air con and that is fine, also replaced with another new resistor, no joy ant thoughts? This Peugeot 307 is part of the family, its 15 years old and have had no trouble until now, I would hate to see her go!! she does not moan when I get the wrong milk from the supermarket or put the washing machine on the wrong program unlike my Wife. Any input would be great. Mike.
Mike Griffin, Hello! Sorry to hear you are having problems again, I just read your last messages and it doesn't sound good. If the terminal was very hot before the fan lost power, I would guess that the wires may have melted. It would have been odd for the fuse not to blow, is it the correct amps?
Hello! Will it look the same on LHD car? You know, just mirrored. I see the difrence beetwen my LHD and your RHD Peugeot. I have a fusebox under the steering wheel, but you have it in car storage. So I don't know, if I have to remove the car storeage like you. My english is weak, but I hope you understood what I mean.
Hi, from other's comments, I think it's the same but easier to get to from the right hand side (if you only need to replace the resistor) as there is no steering wheel in the way. There should be a side panel to remove and you need to have the vents opened (press recirculation button) so you can get your hand in. Hope this helps!
Ok I fix it and blower works again :) The resistor was broken. Thank you for your video and for advice. I done everything from driver side, because I couldn't dismount a car storage for some reason. Anyway I had to dismount the heater blower first to check if it is working.
Mrs Mechanic on the same side as in your car, but it was more difficult to dismount it, because of steering column. You can see it here youtu be/97UB9Yp_UXk BTW the fan doesn't work perfectly. It works only on the 1st and on the 3rd gear(but before it didn't work on any gear). Propably I bought broken resistor. On Wednesday, the car parts dealer will have delivry with some new parts and then he is going to give me another resistor.
adysaxman77 yes the fuse is F18 in the engine bay. It's a 40amp so unlikely to blow which is a bad design if you ask me! There are a couple of different boxes so check out with website to see which one looks like yours... www.google.co.uk/amp/fusesdiagram.com/peugeot/fuses-and-relay-peugeot-307.html/amp Unfortunately it seems that most of the time it's either the resistor or wiring that has burnt out. Hope you get yours sorted, will help if I can :)
It's hard to know unless you get the motor out and test that. If there is a live feed then it's not the fuse and if the fan works (using another power source) then it must be the resistor.
Ok so no air was coming out of the heating and ac vent.i brought to mechanic and he said it was the moter. he fiddled with some wires and then it’s started to work, would that mean it’s NOT the motor But most likely the resistor as it did start to blow..?
Hi I have a Peugeot 307 sw 2004. I tried to open the glove box I removed all the screws and could not pull out the box. Did you explain to us how you opened and got out the box of bottles? The heating fan does not work. The first to take it out, but the box of the crates does not come out 😂😂😂😂
I was charged 2 hrs labour for removal of resistor and then they said they couldn't fix it as outside of the expertise. Does this sound right as my argument is you don't take on a job you can't do and two hours labour? Can anyone give advice?
If you skip to 8:12 you can see (just about!) the location of the resistor and what it looks like when removed. RusselI, I think the 308 might be slightly different?
No - you can access the resistor from the right hand side. Take off the RHS plastic panel, switch the engine on, and press the recirculate button. A vent opens up inside the cavity. Switch off the engine, and reach into the hole. You can feel the resistor towards the central console. Twist it firmly, and it detaches, still connected to the loom. The wires are just long enough to pull it into view and disconnect it. Often the connector and/or wires are scorched and burnt. Note the resistor can be hot, leave time to cool before doing this.
Maybe there's something inside the fan, or the fan has become displaced and is rubbing? Could be the fan motor itself so you probably need to take the fan out and inspect/change it. Good luck
My glove box won't get out doesn't matter how many screws I remove. This is the worst car I have ever worked on. The engine is also a piece of shit to work on.
Lol. If you've taken all the screws out, then you need to pull it really hard or get two flat heads on either side and lever it out. They're pretty bad cars to work on that's for sure. Good luck 🍀
Thanks for the video. It is a great help. It is also good to check the voltage on the fuse 11 under the bonnet as the relay powering that circuit also has a tendency to fail.
All sorted now Mrs Mechanic, blower and A/C working fine after I changed burnt out resistor connector. Thank you for all your input Mike X.
So glad you got it fixed, definitely need a/c at the moment! I'm happy to have helped :) x
Thanks to your video i was able to save a good £300 which is what the mechanics quoted me, in the end my problem was just a corroded wire on the resistor i replaced it and its as good as new! Thank you So Much!

Thanks for the video, even though I’m a industrial electrician I have no clue about cars, so your video was a massive help!!!!
Thanks for the video! Helped me find and fix the fan in mine :)
Thank you very much just fixed mine in time for the Beast from the East. Was the resister. Verified that blower worked ok using 6 C type batteries taped together and some spare wire.

Great thanks. Wish me luck, I'm going in!
Great video it fixed our car thank you.
Much of this section has benefited from new information
I just changed the resister in my girlfriends 307 and she’s blowing like she’s never blew before! Thanks. 👍🏻
I'm glad your girlfriend is grateful :)
Respect all women like you
Brilliant video, I have an old 2002 sw307, the heater fan is not blowing, I'm sure I can feel heat rhough
Hope you get it fixed, it's freezing out there! 🥶
Well done lady. 👍👍
Thank you for your help very useful
Thanks! you saved me the grief of trying to figure this out on my own!
Replaced the terminal block from the blower as suspected a dry joint, air conditioning system working again, fingers crossed. does the blower keep the fan resistor cool in the tunnel? as I felt it and it was quite hot.
Regards Mike.
Decent effort and good commentary, MUCH more light required/

hi i have a 307sw...was thinking of taken the blower out to check for leaves cause it makes a bit of noise ..this video helped ...thanks
Você leva jeito pra coisa linda.

Forgot to mention that I’ve sprayed contact cleaner spray and wd40 in the fan’s wire connections.
You are just wonderful.
Is the heater resister on th drivers side or passenger side ?

nice car...but this case (heater resistor) make me think twice before buying again a pejouet brand
Mrs Mechanic thx for the vid... i have few information about 307 pejouet...whatsup ..009647717862202...nice to meet you Mrs mechanic
very good ................
Brilliant well done why some other guy think these jobs are for men , a bit sad he lives as a caveman , congrats again
I have the same problem with my 307. Did you need to remove the motor to get the resistor out? I've tested the motor n the battery and that's fine.

I have 307s and just recently my fan stopped working except for the highest speed which is 4.

Yes, if the motor worked after that then it's either wiring or the resistor. Where did he touch the wires?
may I suggest the use of a headlamp? It would improve your video by a couple of hundred percent......;-)

Thank you gd job
I want to see more you need to come and fix my cars lol
Thank you moon
So the blower is on the left side of the dash.
Yes, it's directly behind the centre console and accessed through the glovebox. That makes more sense when you start taking things out, I promise!
Where is the resister located exactly? Does the motor blower have to be removed in order to get access to the resistor?
Unfortunately the blower has to be taken out to get to the resistor. It's a bit fiddly but you can do it! :)

who only the 1 video you is cute
You must have night vision eyes i havent seen anything bit light will be helped on this video
