I’m about to pay my (once per year suma) equivalent to council tax for owning my house here in Spain! €214 … how come Englands Council taxes are so very expensive yet the services that Spanish councils give to their residents far outstrip those provided in England 🤔

Here in the uk it’s getting close to £200 a month. My mums when she lived in Cyprus was less than £200 a year.

Oh yes Trevor I never buy Heinz beans we are a Branston beans household. They used to be Crosse & Blackwell.
Branston converts here, too! Heinz aren't what they used to be.
Good to know - Crosse and Blackwell were my favourite beans but i thought they had gone out of business because I haven't been able to find them so tend to buy supermarket own brands.

Heinz Beans have changed in Canada.. the can is half liquid and tasteless , we stopped buying them completely . Recently saw an article where they said they have changed the recipe to improve on it for customers.. WE in this house call bs on that !
I call BS too… I have been draining them into the sink …about a third of the can is watery …. No more Heinz beans at this house! 🇨🇦🇨🇦. If they changed the recipe to improve them for people that like orangish water that would explain things.🤦🏼♀

That is exactly what my daughter believes, it is bullying the elderly. How can they fight back, they are picking on the elderly. Why don't they put up the tax bracket to £16,000 ,so many people, families could afford fuel and other bills.

@@evelynhillier2877 we went to a builders warehouse ,and one of the men there is 80 years old still working because he likes to be busy and useful and also for the money. That's saying you dont need to retire and not all pensioners are the same. He like many others have a wealth of knowledge to pass on to others.
The way elderly people are being treated by labour is diabolical. It’s ok for a man living in a multimillion pound property and his close friend donating huge amounts of money so he can tell kier how to run the country.

Been having deep discussions with husband and we have come to this conclusion. We believe Sir Kier is waiting to see what happens, over the winter period, to see the outcome for pensioners. Then surprise, surprise, he will say the government have looked again at the budget and we have found some money so we are able to reinstate the winter fuel allowance. Obviously hoping it makes them look like they care. Just putting it out there.

We can get baked beans here in Spain, which are very cheap and have more bean in them i feel for the uk people what the goveare doing to their people glad i moved to Spain a lot cheaper

The french bought land in kent a few years ago to grow vineyards. They found that the climate for wine growing was better in the uk. I suspect it has something to do with climate change.

Mr. Coult, try making your own beans. Next time you are at the food stores, look for a small package of dried navy beans or small white beans. Take a handful and soak in water overnight. Follow the directions for cooking. When cooked and drained, add some ketchup, brown sugar, and a dab of molasses. I hope you will look into canning food. I think you might enjoy it.

Heinz beans have got smaller along with the tins they are in but we are paying more for them. Stopped buying them because of the awful way they taste now. you are right about the sugar free. I couldnt eat them they tasted so vile.

Nz Watties Baked Beans are the best in the world! I’ve eaten the beans in many countries UK, South Africa, NZ, Australia and presently live in Oz but luckily I can still gmy Watties Beans 😊
The Aldi beans we get here are a bit runny, but taste ok as a cheap alternative
Now this maybe because I am American. Could you not make your beans from dry beans, add your own seasons. Then freeze the leftovers.
My Dad put them in water overnight then rises in the morning and simmer all day after putting flavors in it. Yummy
I've done that in the past, when I had a Rayburn range cooker which was hot all the time it was lit (autumn through to spring). But now, with electricity the price it is, simmering on the cooker all day isn't a good idea!
If you have an instant pot that my work. If you have one. Electric must be high there.

There are over 900 vineyards in the UK - with over 200 wineries. My husband and I visited one this summer in Nun Monkton (just outside York) - " Yorkshire Heart". Our son had given us a gift voucher for Christmas from "Buyagift" for a vineyard tour, tasting and lunch or afternoon tea, and "Yorkshire Heart " was one we could book. It was great and I was surprised when the owner told us how many vineyards are in the UK. I recommend this place and my sister in law has been to one in Holme Firth which she said was really good too.
Now Ali is influential in the Government will we see more concessions to a sector of the UK population - Starmer's comment about protecting mosques and muslims rather than protecting everyone from violence makes sense now.
My favorite baked beans are Bushes Country Style Baked Beans, brown sugar and bacon lol. I don’t care too much for Camp Beans. But it’s fall time now, time for Chili and bean soup with ham. 😆🇺🇸

Trevor please don’t believe what the PM says he said there would be homes for hero’s but that is not what he meant he changes his mind in an interview after and said they would go on the list but the illegal immigrants would also be a priority. He doesn’t seem to have his priorities in the correct order IMO.
