im a 58 year old dude in tennessee and i discovered Band Maid about a year ago. My favorite band hands down. They have me head bangin and the next song im two steppin. "Freedom" live version was the first song i heard. A little popish but then Akane made the drums cry for mercy and i was hooked. "Onset" live instrumental , probably listened to it about 50 times and gonna listen to it again as soon as i stop typing..............

You just stumbled on to the best rock band in the world hands down , and they are the best i have seen in probably the last 30 years NO JOKE. They do not have a bad song that i could find and i have listen to about 100 or so of their songs. they are insanely talented musicians that write incredible music, and they are even better live. try any of their official live versions on their TH-cam channel and you will be blown away, most reactors start with " DOMINATION OFFICIAL LIVE VERSION" and go from there.
I wouldn't say the best rock band in the world (for that title, they have to be acknowledged by everyone 🙂), but they're pretty good though. Impeccable techniques.

Band-Maid is considered one of the best hard rock bands in the world ! They have over 100 great songs to choose from =) One of their heavier songs is "The Non-Fiction Days" and their best live performance is "Real Existence" Official Live ! THE best Rock band in existence. Japan is making all the Rock and Metal for the 21st century and igniting passions I had in the 70's and 80's for real Rock and Metal. They literally do not make bad songs, only very good, excellent or outstanding ones. Recommendations for more Band-Maid would have to include...their entire back catalogue and anything they make in the future. Also worth checking out some of the other superb, musically talented Japanese all-female bands like Lovebites, Nemophila or Asterism. Babymetal too, even though the superb, male, Kami Band play their music.
Lovebites, Bridear, Fate Gear, Aldious...can you really make a wrong-turn when it comes to the J-rock/metal scene? 🥰🔥🤘

Fuck man. I was a fan back in the day and have their first few albums up to world domination but haven't heard blooming before. Awesome to see they still ha e wicked music. Gonna have to get back into them. Would love for you to react to more of their stuff
This is off Conqueror, the LP after World Domination. The one after Conqueror is even better; called Unseen World. They just dropped a new track a month ago called Unleash!!!!! which will be in the EP Unleash dropping on 9/21/2022. In the Netflix film Kate, Band-Maid has a cameo in which they sang Choose Me. This track also features in the film. :D

Blooming is an epic song. It leaves me breathless after every listen, makes me feel as if I just finished a full marathon.
But it's one of their many, many styles. You can't expect everything to sound like this, but all songs are good🤘

Like most Band-Maid songs, I like them from the get-go but really start to appreciate them after more hearings and seeing their LIVE videos. I'll go back and see an older song like YOLO, Order, Shake That, Freezer, Before Yesterday, Real Existence, Non Fiction Days and Alone, etc. and realize there's no band that can consistently construct and play like Band-Maid.

Akane Hirose (A-Ka-Nay) "Gorilla" - Drums, 31 years old, band energizer & co-clown with MISA. Of course we want more, we love watching the journey reactors go on with this Band. Blooming is a great song to start with as apart from being a great song, all their talents are on display, bass (Misa), drums (Akane), lead guitar (Kanami), and vocals ( both Saiki and Miku) are all at 100% but then I'd say that about every Band Maid song. As others will mention, they take it up a notch or three live.
Welcome to the world of Band-Maid, I have listened to them since 2014 and I still can't get enough, If you want hard rock you have come to the right place, Band-Maid have songs that cover 70s and 80s rock, punk, grunge, jazz, blues, prog and funk all mixed and blended so well you won't believe it, some people can hear 2 or 3 other groups styles in one song but it's all Band-Maid, you have a lot to enjoy, so have fun.
Best rock band I discovered the last 30 years, not lying. Please continue with your journey into the pigeon hole, you won't regret it.

Great reaction and welcome to the Band Maid club. This band has been around since 2013 and have well over 100 songs. You cannot go wrong with any of there songs but may i suggest from there early songs (the non fiction days , Yolo , Puzzle) and from there newer stuff (Domination live , Warning MV , or there newest song Unleash) i am sure you will love them all. Again welcome to the world of Band Maid.

Welcome my friends, to the show that never ends...because Band-Maid is the best hard rock band in the world, and they have way over 100 great songs. They're the only band I know of today, where you can literally pick any song at random and it'll be somewhere between very good and HOLY CRAP!!!! They're touring the US next month too, but you'll have to pay resell prices because all but maybe one in NJ are sold out. Do we want more? What, is that a trick question - of course we do! Some suggestions for your next one is to go back in time and work your way forward. Real Existence Live is an awesome track (all of these are on their YT channel), Daydreaming MV if you like power ballads, Rinne if you want it harder and faster, and oh hell they're all great just pick one.
"Blooming" is an interesting MV to discover Band-Maid because for the most part of the video, the focus is on their hands and instruments and not on their faces and clothes, so it's the music that speak first (and it's never too late to realise later that they're beautifull too). Miku Kobato - mee-KOO - Kuruppo, the Little Pigeon, the Little Engine Who Will - band founder, backing (and occasionally lead) vocals, rhythm guitar, principal lyricist, tireless Spokespigeon and PR machine.
Kanami Tono - kah-NAH-mee - Kanamincho or just Mincho - lead guitar, keyboards, principal composer and arranger.
Akane Hirose - ah-KAH-neh - A-chan, the Gorilla - drums, sequencing, snacks, the leader the band doesn't have.
MISA - MEE-sah - the Barefoot Assassin, MISA MISA MISA! - bass, booze, occasional wet work.
Saiki Atsumi - SAH-ee-kee (but Psyche is close enough) - the Ice Queen, Sensei, Sai-chan - lead vocals, some lyrics, the "We're done" girl.
The pronunciations are a little flatter than that. Japanese has extended vowels and cut off vowels, but not really accents like English. Your pronunciation guide is not bad. Just monotone it a bit.

All we know is that, everytime we see their videos...,they cannot be compared when they play live. 10 times, 100 times, 1000 times better?...maybe My Friend. Misa la bajista suele tocar siempre descalza y aunque parezca que está siempre un poco en la sombra su bajo brilla constantemente en toda la canción y Kanami Tono, la guitarrista líder, es la personalización de la Magia, que a ratos es Negra a ratos es Blanca pero siempre te embruja, ella es la compositora de la mayoría de las canciones de la Banda.
Su Rock no se amolda a ningún género ni ningún patrón establecido, ellas son dueñas de su propio estilo, tanto visual cómo musical. Puedes llamarlo Las Reglas de BAND-MAID.

Welcome to the club, there are many songs by Band-Maid that can make you an insta-fan. For me it was Thrill and Real Existence in that order, their first two MVs. From then on I played all song on their YT channel in order from oldest to newest. Within a week Band-Maid became my favorite band of all times, and they still are to this day, and it will probably stay that way forever 🙂

Im surprised to see a channel with so many sub's that doesn't know this band. BAND_MAID's been blowing up internationally a few years and their announced US tour sold out almost everywhere in a day. They had to add venues and/or move to larger ones. Nice one mate ;)

The history is very long and the obsession started in 1966 when Beatles visited Japan and held 5 concerts at Budokan. Speaking of hard rock / heavy metal music, a number of bands started to come to Japan since as early as 1970s : Led Zeppelin / Grand Funk Railroad (1971), Deep Purple (1972), Queen (1975), Kiss (1977), Cheap Trick / Van Halen / Scorpions (1978), Judas Priest (1978/79) and so on. Now, any type of rock can be enjoyed here, especially by many all-female or women-fronted bands. They are daughters of American / European rock, for sure. (Many are grand-daughters in terms of age.)
Uh-oh, we also say "Japan is the country obsessed by Jazz". It had started earlier than rock 😄
I actually a Japanese and my background is classic and jazz, but also I loved rock music when I was high school boy. In 2015 BAND-MAID reminded me rock. I enjoyed their live in Sendai the day before yesterday.

Kenny Wheelerはカナダ人ですが、主にUKで活躍していたジャズトランぺッターです。私が高校生の時(たぶん1976年前後)に、キースジャレットと組んで出したヌー・ハイというアルバムでそのフリューゲルホーンに魅せられてしまいました。
私は2016年にステージ４の肺癌を患ってしまったのですが、もちろんノーベル賞をとった本庶先生の薬のおかげもありますが、辻井伸行や上原ひろみや、そういったクラシックやジャズのコンサートに行って癌を治したと思っています。実際にドクターもそう言っていましたし。ワクワクできる音楽は、本当に良いですよ。バンドメイドも私にとっては最良の薬です。残念ながらDiverCity もEggmanも抽選から漏れてしまいました。けれども、あの仙台の小さな会場で聴けたのはラッキーだったと思っています。ミンチョは無双状態でした。トラブルのせいで、最初からテンションが高かったように思います。

Lung cancer and another cancer are almost cured. It's still jazz and classical, but I'm constantly going to gigs and concerts, and of course, to concerts at the Garden Theater. After all, Band-Maid has been the best medicine for me since 2015.
They are the Best Rock Band in the World Right now. They will be touring the US next month, 13 cities. They're better live!!!

Welcome to the Maids!. Posibly the best Hard Rock band in the World today.
Band-Maid really shines in a Live setting with their superb stage presence, crowd interactions and musicianship. Their official Live videos has excellent audio quality and great camera work. I suggest the Live version of Play followed by Domination. These two songs were played back to back in their LINE CUBE SHIBUYA concert and the last note of Play flows into Domination.
Kanami's tapping solo before the breakdown had about 9 notes and she took one away each time she repeated it. AND STILL KEPT THE TIME!! She is a Goddess among the Goddess'. Listen to it again. Surprised no one else has mentioned it that i can see. Its a highlight of a song that amazing! not the only one but notable in all the notations you could make.

Anthony, that was the same reaction I had when I discovered them about 2 years ago and hardly listened to anything else since. I sh*t you not, now I must listen or watch them a good 4 hours a day at least. They have dozens of tracks that are just so good, and they're all different, it's not like the same song over and over. Got to see them live a few weeks ago, and they are the real deal live too. Just a fantastic group of TALENTED ladies that love to rock. They are now and probably will be forever my favorite band. Sorry Beatles, Rush, Moody Blues, Yes, Pink Floyd, Triumph, Boston, Journey, AC DC, Zeppelin, The Who, there are five ladies from Japan, in Maid costumes, that win.

'Blooming' is one of the many, many standouts from these 5 phenomenal ladies. Normally we recommend it a little later, but of course this is also a great way to get introduced to them.
After such a high-energy start, I would next recommend their MV to 'Dice', 'The Non Fiction Days' or 'Real Existence' (but this one in its live version!) to keep this level up 🔥, with which I already hint that they can also do otherwise and are no less brilliant. :)

The musical talent in Japan is simply amazing. For me, Band-Maid is at the top (seeing them in Dallas) followed by Lovebites, Nemophila, Asterism and Unlucky Morpheus. Continue the Band-Maid journey but don't stop with them. So much great Japan Rock music to discover.
