Not sure if they have it in NZ, but typically in the US we don't eat the biscuit straight up because yeah it's dry. We actually have honey packets you can ask the staff for to drizzle onto the biscuit and that's the preferred method. Cheers!
As a New Orleanean, I lived close to the original owner AL Copeland.R.I.P. then after his death, the chain basically franchised. I miss the onion rings they used to sell and the fried mushrooms too. Glad to see the restaurant expand outside the USA Have you tried the red beans?
I don't eat because allergic to cayenne and they will fry the regular in the the same as the spicy. Very good chicken none the less. Also, the biscuits usually have a glaze on them. They look like the ones from Church's, which owns Popeyes
I don't get people queuing for new fast food restaurants. Inevitably they walk away saying "It wasn't worth the wait. It was sloppy. It was shit. Why the hype?" Wait a couple of weeks and you'll likely get a better quality experience because the staff aren't run off their feet trying to fill orders at a ridiculous rate. Pssh whatever, each to their own. All said, if it comes to ChCh, I will try. I hope we get In N' Out Burger though. My friend loved it when he was in LA.
Popeyes is my favorite chicken. The French fries are my favorite fast food fries. The biscuit is eaten with butter, honey, honey and butter, or jam and butter. I prefer the Cole slaw or corn on the cob. KFC used to be good 20 years ago. I no longer eat that. It's way too greasy.
@@AndysNZReviewsIf they have the Cajun rice, ask for a large side with half rice, and the other half the gravy. Then put some chicken in it. A fast food version of jambalaya. Real jambalaya would have andouille sausage and maybe shrimp, but it’s really good regardless.
We just call it minced meat (or mince) here. Funny what we think is normal, only to discover other cultures name it differently. Fries vs. Chips for example
Good luck with your channel. Keep up the good work.
It’s a taste test and also you can eat them anyway you like, but those dips are _for_ the chicken.
It all looks so good.x

Mac n cheese needs bacon.

Thanks for watching! i dont think they have red beans on the menu but ill look out for them next time :)
Yes. Red beans and rice
If the employees aren’t rude then that’s not a true Popeyes experience.🤣🤣🤣
I’ve never have had that experience at Popeyes. I go at least once a week…Tuesday specials
And then the customer pulls out a gun because they're out of chicken sammiches
Jelly!
Yes. Hi.
Why is the menu in nz dollars if it’s in Australia ?
Australasia's first Popeyes not Australia's first Popeyes. Australasia is the continent that includes Aus and NZ. NZ got the first Popeyes
@@AndysNZReviews yes realised that I
Had miss read it after

Which is better flavour wise, KFC Hot a & Spicy, or Popeyes?
That KFC piece in the video was better than the piece I had at Popeyes. Popeyes chicken sandwich wins vs KFC for sure
The pronunciation is bi-u don't ask why we say that when it is spelled Bayou
Ah thanks! Good to know.
French.

Next time try red beans & rice (side).. and the spicy chicken sandwich.. way better than the classic imo.
U should have got some gravy and dip the chicken in it 😂
Mate you're right. I forgot a crucial part..

Southern style mac and cheese is baked. Not as creamy. You need honey next time for your biscuit and chicken
they dont give you honey in NZ popeyes
@@neonpixl🥲
Popeyes is so much better than KFC.
Andy looks like a very young Alec and Billy Baldwin.
It never takes more than 5 minutes to get chicken at Popeyes here.
They aren't chips ,they are fries
Popeyes don’t have burgers, only chicken sandwiches. Burger implies hamburger meat which is ground beef
Yeah, but in New Zealand, we call anything made with "burger buns" a burger...
Whatever works in your culture, obviously. But historically speaking the burger bun was invented after the hamburger sandwich.

Popoyes waaaay better than kfc
My experience with Popeyes is it is more hor than flavorful.
Why do yanks insist on calling them sandwiches? They're burgers
