Mark, you live in a beautiful part of the world. The garnets are gorgeous you could easily make some beautiful pieces of jewelry with them. I bought my grandson a metal detector for Christmas he can't wait to get out there and use it. Take care Mark and stay safe.✌

J &M.P. Bell and Company Makers Mark : Glasgow : beautiful scenery Marc and I live three minutes from Ruby Bay a mythical place of geologist hammers rather than garnet sand and a fine lady who it appears preferred to swim in a rocky area rather than at the beautiful beach available not too far away . Roffle Roffle you could not make it up unless you were the minister who wrote the first statistical account for the area . Tsk Tsk minister look what you did for tourism . Nice finds Marc as always and regards to Bigfoot (Digger) .

You found some awesome stuff. I like those bottles and the dagger knife, that could have been really old. Great scenery too!😊👍

Love it, I like to see all the mudlarking finds but never sure where to look, I spend a lot of my time on the beaches on West of Scotland collecting Seaglass so would love see this amazing place. Any chance you can let me into some of your secret places 🙂

Lovely out that way m8 good fishing up that way aswell found a lot of broken onion bottles on that beach shame a don’t scuba dive a bet there’s some whole ones in the water there’s a lot of coastal towns and areas up towards there that merit a good search on the foreshore and rivers for old bottles

Great video as usual Mark that George the 3rd could be a forgery of a gold sovereign as its too thin to be a penny i think, if it was a penny it would have been thicker and the colour is all wrong for a penny definitely think its a forgery, brilliant mix great find in the knife looks early worth another hunt out that area.. thanks for sharing hope your feeling better stay safe and well.

Hi Mark, amazing video! I was wondering if you could let me in on where abouts in Scotland this is? :) I've gotten into Rock hounding recently and I'm absolutely adoring it! I'm looking for new spots basically every weekend! Recently bought a rock tumbler and I'm obsessed!

Ive had a few decent finds at inveraray found pieces of an old plate with white roses printed on it must be jacobite im guessing although inveraray wasn’t a very good place for jacobites to be eating there dinner lol

Whatever the reddish brown stones are they are not garnets. Possibly ironstone, or something coloured by hematite.

Hi! I’m a college student from the U.S who is getting a minor in geology. I am currently studying abroad in Ireland and planning a trip to Scotland to look for garnets. Where is the location of this beach? :)

Ruby is the red variety of 'Corundum' and being a 9 on the hardness scale (diamond being 10) they will usually be hexagonal prism shaped, even partially still that shape when tumbled within a water source for god knows how long so they will defiantly be Garnets but an awesome find none the less! 😬
EDIT: you could also test a piece by trying to scratch it with a piece of Topaz which is an 8, if it scratches you'll know for sure! 👍🏻💎
