Hi, I really want to recommend a Chinese donghua (anime) called Fog Hill of Five Elements; it's really really nice; please try it. it is the best Chinese donghua and one of the best anime in the world.
Have you tried playing Eminence in Shadow Master of Garden? it has Extra content detailing the adventures of the 7 Shades in the 2 year time skip between Episode 2 and Episode 3. Like when Shadow fought against The Mist Dragon and won himself Alexandria, how the 7 Shades built up Alexandria into Shadow Garden's HQ, how Mitsugoshi was founded, how Tuna King was made and established into a Fast Food Chain, and introduction to some of the Named Numbers like Lambda, Kai and Victoria.
I love the juxtaposition of Alexia tightening grip on her sword, affirming her resolve, straight into Iris letting go of her sword, giving up in utter despair
Mythril is highly sought after. Most materials has some degree of magical conductivity. The vast majority don’t go higher than 10%. Mythril has 50% conductivity. Only on e material is better. Slime jelly has 99%. They channel magic through their cores to hold themselves together. There have been attempts to develop them for human use but were rejected as too difficult to use. Cid saw the memo and disagreed with the report. See you in Season 2!
Which translates to when he fought Beatrix and Iris with a crowbar, it was like fighting two swordmasters with a cardboard tube and winning. It's a whole new level of disrespect and intimidation.
It goes so much more than that, as Slime is hard to use because of how sensitive it is to Magic. Cid solved the problem by mixing in his own blood into the slime, thereby making the slime an extension of his own body. Shadow Garden Members are then inducted into the group by giving them a slime to put their blood in and have them master its useage. In the game, the Slime apparently responds to the user's own mastery of magic as Rose is shown to have trouble using it at first and was said to use Magic like a Hammer on her sword. When she mastered the Slime, the Slime Sword changed its form into a Rapier, the form which Rose is more familiar with. And though I don't know how it works with everyone else in Shadow Garden, but Cid hides is Slime inside his own body. I assume he lets it flow through his major blood vessels and just bleeds it out when he needs it (since Cid can apparently stitch together his wounds with Magic Threads).
@@loganphillips2166Yeah, though its more telling that Cid used his Magic to reinforce the simple crowbars into something that can match Beatrix's Katana or Iris' Artifact, it still wasn't enough since Beatrix still managed to cut them. What is more of a disrespect is Cid using Grappling moves against them, as the concept of Hand to Hand Combat is not that developed in a world of Magic since any monkey can pick up a stick and pour magic into it to make a weapon. Also its a standard requirement for Shadow Garden Members to be proficient in Hand to Hand Combat as well.
@@jled787I have just read the manga so I assume they go into more detail in the LN. But if I'm not mistaken magic capable of affecting the weather is considered god-tier. As in ludicrous to consider being possible. Toss that kind of flex in just as a diversion after his song and dance number. It's to the point I start feeling bad for Iris because you know Cid is just having the time of his life.
@@loganphillips2166 Cid just basking in the afterglow of his flex on Iris and Beatrix, meanwhile Iris is just bawling her eyes out because ever since Alexia's kidnapping, nothing went the way she wanted it to go. Hence her comment on Shadow "causing chaos" in the capital, despite the fact that it was her careless attacks using the artifact that caused half the damage this time around. Add that to the fact that Shadow basically called her insufficient because she is using an Artifact to barely match him.
The "standing/walking on water" is a basic simple magic in this world that even the little weak Cid could use back when he was a kid in Episode 2 or so. It's nothing special.
@@kaanuysal579 Yeah, I wasn't necessarily saying that Cid was weak back then. I was saying that he was (and still is) perceived as very weak by everyone else around him and no one questioned how he was standing/walking on water.
Cid wants to be 'The Eminence in Shadow', the twist villain, the unexpected end boss, so he's on the lookout for the 'hero', which is why he's asking Iris and Beatrix if they're worth remembering. However, he doesn't want to hurt the background/supporting characters in the story, which was why he was watching for uninhabited areas for their showdown to take place in, including the church that was a headquarters for the Cult of Diablo.
The Eminence in Shadow isn't a twist villain or the unexpected end boss. In fact, he very explicitly states he doesn't want to be a villain or the end boss. He's the guy who creates the stage that the heroes and villains play on. He wants to be the guy pulling all the strings in the background, be the mysterious being with unimaginable power. Neither the hero nor the villain, instead a third party operating from the shadows. The ultimate grey character. He is the chessmaster and the world is his board.
To be fair, what the first person said is most likely true. Cid isn't the hero, isn't the villain nor the Anti-hero. He's the closest they can get to God. And God does not necessarily have to care about the ants in the ground.
In the manga and light novel Shadow and the other members of Shadow Garden wore masks to help conceal their identities, likely why nobody recognizes them. The anime opted not to do that for budget reasons.
Just remembered something. Earlier they mentioned that Cid cured Clair of a possession (but nobody believes her). the other people Cid cured got Stupid Strong. And now Clair wins the tournament!
Cid didn't give Claire the power up, he just cured her. And he cured her when they were kids, so it wouldn't be the reason for her sudden growth either way.
I don't understand why people call Iris arrogant and a spoiled brat. I don't understand at all. TL;DR: She's striving for justice because her whole life she wanted to help her country due to the expectations put on her. She wants to prove her usefulness to the world and make sense of her life, to the point seeing the result of Shadow going atomic and not being able to prevent it, not only once but two times drives her more and more crazy and hateful of Shadow (Garden). Here is my complete explanation: You have this princess who is gifted and has a talent for sword fight and magic, all her life she's been working to meet grand expectations and be up the task of protecting her kingdom, people and country. However, when things happen, because of her position as a princess, she can't (or rarely can) get involved and help the situation. It makes her believe she might not be strong or reliable enough to the eyes of others. When the cult and Shadow Garden are exposed, she can only view them as ennemies to the country. They destroy lives and building, wreaking havoc and possibily commtting crimes. She wants to deal with those threats. But then, by two times, she couldn't protect the city. Cid going Atomic style and destroying everything like a nuke is a chock for her. Not once by twice it has happened and now she starting to feel useless more and more. "What's the point of being strong if I can't prevent this", "what's the point of all those trainings, of my life if the city keeps getting destroy while I stay a spectator of this". Those must be her thoughts. Therefore she wants to prove to the world, to herself, she's able to be a strong asset to the country she loves so much. But she doesn't realize that Shadow is not to be messed with. But of course, she has been the strongest for a long time, and people praised her for it, so she knows her expertise must mean something. She can't believe that the gap between Shadow and her can be this huge unless Shadow is cheating or using some sort of artifact. And for him to be able to wander freely and unaccountable to his actions, it's unacceptable. That's why she's starting to truly hate Shadow, especially after he humiliated her. She fears that people will ignoring her and stop counting on her. It's not a matter of getting attention or caring more about her power than the citizens, but a matter of justifying her strength and life, making sense of them. She seems like someone who desesperatly strives for justice but cannot accomplish her mission despite all the work and effort she's been putting into this goal. Of course it's frustrating, maddening and at some point you become a bit too eager to reach your ideals. When she realizes after the fight against Shadow that she was unable to be of any significance against him, that he could have blow up everything she cares for while she was doing her best to stop him, the helpnessness she felt was incommensurable.
The Eminence in Shadow isn't a villain or Big Bad. In fact, he very explicitly states he doesn't want to be a villain or the end boss. He's the guy who creates the stage that the heroes and villains play on. He wants to be the guy pulling all the strings in the background, be the mysterious being with unimaginable power. Technically, if I understand correctly from the light novels, Aurora is the cult's most successful subject of combining with the cells of the monsters from one of the other worlds, but they failed to contain her. She was originally human. The power of the vampires of current times however originated from her. Though I don't think they are 'descendants'. They probably came into contact with blood/flesh of Diabolos/Aurora and transformed into vampires. This is why Aurora says that she was the original one when talking about a vampire's abilities. Not the original 'vampire', but the one from which those abilities originated.
