"It burned my hand, so I punched it"
Words to live by
Inanimate objects are often the most deserving of physical punishment
I predict ten minutes from now, they’ll beat each other’s throats with war paint on their faces and a pig head on a stick.
@@stingraii they are about to make the French Revolution look like a heated middle school debate
This is the perfect cold open: it displays everyone’s character perfectly through something as simple as arguing over a broken coffee pot. Genius.
Indeed. This is why it's one of the best scenes to mske to make a meme about.
true. I know literally nothing about parks and rec but I get their dynamic in under 2 minutes
“I did I broke it”
“No, no you didn’t”
*if she actually broke that’s the best way to get out of it.*
It only works cause:
1) Ron KNOWS they didn't cause he did
2) Ron also knows it's typical of her to take the blame for something to spare the group
also if it really was her shed have it fixed or replaced immediately
cause thats how Leslie operates
Leslie wouldn't be able to stand the guilt of not admitting to Ron if she actually did break it.
"I'm not mad, I just wanna know"
The biggest lie a teacher/parent can say when they find something broke.
I refer to this clip when people ask "what does chaotic neutral mean?"
@Urrcreavesh You're mistaken if he let's Leslie take the fall then he misses out on the chaos, his goal isn't to get a new coffee pot his goal was to start a fight. This has nothing to do if he likes her or not, this is all about his chaos.
@@steamin3354 A chaotic neutral character follows his whims. He is an individualist first and last. He values his own liberty but doesn't strive to protect others' freedom. He avoids authority, resents restrictions, and challenges traditions.
A chaotic neutral character does not intentionally disrupt organizations as part of a campaign of anarchy. To do so, he would have to be motivated either by good (and a desire to liberate others) or evil (and a desire to make those different from himself suffer).
A chaotic neutral character may be unpredictable, but his behavior is not totally random.
I love how Leslie tries to take the fall, but Ron cuts her off and knows immediately she isn't one of the suspects.
It’s not that he knows she didn’t do it, it’s that he knows she can quickly defuse the situation
@@unforeseeable2.058 Yes, but it only works because everyone else also believes she couldn't possibly have done it.
I love how leslie is a lovely/caring mother figure protecting them from angry father
@@jasonhenry8067 If it matters, propably not, but April was the last one to use it.
I kinda like how Leslie tried to take the fall for it just to protect her team. It wouldn't be right for the blame to land on her but she truly is a guardian angel.
I also love how Ron automatically shoots her down just to keep it going
@@CrownofMischief and of course no one questions how he knows she didn't break it because no one else believes she broke it!
The only real hazards to Ron's plans were if someone discovered he broke it or if someone took the fall (besides Leslie since Ron expected that).
“War paint on their faces, and a pig head on a stick” now that I’ve read lord of the flies I get it haha
Me too! I literally just finished reading it when I watched this clip after like 2 years!
I love how Leslie immediately says it was her and Ron dismisses her right away because he knows Leslie too well since of course Leslie would take the blame to end this - all while Ron is also wanting this scheme of his to play out
@@angusmarch1066 he dismissed her because she's Leslie Knope.. if she did broke it, this meeting wouldn't happen at all
Okay but this writing is so good because it perfectly captures every character’s vibe lol
I'd say this is peak Ron but then I remembered his letter to Canada.
Phoebe Clark this is like the time he faked yanking his tooth in the middle of a meeting
I love how when Leslie tried to take the fall, Ron swooped in because she would have ruined his game. He’s determined to see everyone tear each other apart.
The way April says Jerry's name as if it's a cuss word by itself had me rolling.🤣🤣
I love how nobody gets suspicious of Ron when he immediately shoots down Leslie as a suspect. Everyone knows that Leslie is the kind of person who would take the blame for something like this, and Ron took advantage of that.
This clip: *exists*
People who make animatics: *It’s free real estate*
hehe check out my fugou keiji balance unlimited version th-cam.com/video/OFhVadqlVBM/w-d-xo.html
I like how Donna instantly went on the attack. Ron for being such a lawful guy has a lot of chaotic moments
I love how Ron immediately defends Leslie knowing she wouldn’t do something like that
It’s more that he hates lies second only to skim milk and knew it was a lie
@@danielboggan2479 He knew it was a lie because he was the one who did it. Plus I like to think he partly defended her because if she had taken the fall, his plan of letting everyone start to fight would have failed.
@@Greendalewitch That, and everyone also would believe she didn’t do it. Leslie always takes the fall and lies to do so, so no one would suspect Ron’s scheme at all. Well played.
I love how Ron distracts the workplace for his personal amusement.
Remember he really hates everything to do with government and is only in it to slow everything down as much as possible. This seems like something he’d do to accomplish this.
“It was getting a little chummy around here”
That’s such an underrated line😂😂
One of the benefits of having a really good ability to daydream and recreate the voices of damn near anyone in my head is that i can select pretty much any group of fictional characters and recreate this scene with them in my head to distract me from the homework i'm supposed to be doing
Good. It was getting a little chummy around here.
Ahsan Bilal I’m glad you apply those words to your life style, Rob.
Ahsan Bilal I go to Yonis. Who’s Gregory and Wynona? I’ve never heard of them before. Are they better?
“i use the wooden stirrers to push back my cuticles everyone knows that JERRY” is so iconic 💀
This may be low-key one of the new classic comedy routines. Nearly every fandom I can think of has a text post recreating this one scene.
I know right?! Alongside the "I want it that way" scene from Brooklyn Nine-Nine, every fandom you are in has to have an animatic with these audios over it. 😆
I literally did a "who broke it" for LPS popular:
th-cam.com/video/jMhKz_3cHwc/w-d-xo.html
@@LpsRoseGold Those two, and "The Thing You Can't Replace" by John Mulaney.
And the good thing about this scene is it's not out of character for ron to do it either. He's not lying by asking it to try and blame someone else (which is what he hates the most) he's simply asking who broke it which we know is him in hindsight. It's more of a "truth but not all the details."
"So, who broke it?"
"I'm not mad, i just want to know."
Favorite.
It's a crime that Nick Offerman was never even nominated for an Emmy.
I think Amy Poehler tried to petition or something to get Nick nominated, but it didn't work.
At least that's what I read somewhere.
I like how Ron really trusts and loves leslie during the show
This is the perfect audio to use for original characters, such a good way to show off dynamics, who is the leader, who has beef with who, and who is willing to throw someone else under the bus
“ I use the wooden stirrers to push back my cuticles! Everyone knows that JERRY!”
0:47 when you tryin to find the imposter
"It burned my hand, so I punched it"
Typical Swanson, incredible
for a Swanson, it's underwhelming actually , the thing is still in one piece and not shattered to oblivion
Donna’s “ReALLY?!” here is the funniest thing she does in this whole series
I couldn’t agree more. I couldn’t stand her character. It’s like the writers didn’t know what to do with her
Ben attempting to take Ron under his confidence and throwing Donna under the bus is the best part...hahahah...so funny.
I love Donna's "R e a l l y ?"
That's such a good reaction. It's so sassy
I love how he says "No. No you didn't."
Leslie trying to take the blame knowing she's the only one who can handle Ron's wrath. That friendship is priceless.
lol "I predict ten minutes from now that they'll be at each other's throats with war paint and a pig head on a stick." That got me laughing so hard
This has been turned into so many memes and it makes it even more hilarious
This scene on TH-cam made me curious to watch the show. Sums up all characters in 90 seconds.... glad I did
I love when Donna gets all up in Bens face😂😂😂 “rrrreally?!”
I rate this the funniest next to the scene where ron has a round table with the woman running around him
I love how this scene is so brilliantly written to showcase everyone's personalities to the point that other fandoms use it to represent their characters. Like that is just MAGICAL!
Is no one talking about how this is exactly how a parent acts? He even said I’m not mad, I just want to know. Then the others reacting is what the kids would like blame each other or try and take the fall. This is literally how me and my siblings would act.
I was looking for a comment like that! This is a good example of Ron being Pawnee's dad
im convinced every fandom on planet earth has an animatic of this
Truly one of the most humorous moments from this show.
I love how honest Ben was when Tom asked him about the machine 😂
Among us but Ron is really good at imposter
I love it when Ron goes chaotic neutral
Great to see Jerry/Larry/Gary/Terry defend himself against Ludgate. And lmfao Ben throwing Donna under the bus.
This scene among us edition:
"So... who killed Chris..."
"..."
"I'm not mad, I just want to know"
"I did, I killed him-"
"No, No you didn't. Tom?"
"Don't look at me! Look at Ben-"
"What? I didn't kill him!"
"Thats weird, how did you even know he was dead?"
"Because he's right there next to us, and he's dead."
"Thats sus Ben."
"No! it's not!"
"If it matters, probably not, but, April was the last one with Chris-"
"Lair! I was in admin!"
"Oh really? Then I think you were faking the card task."
"I can never get my card through, it's always too slow, everyone knows that JERRY"
"Ok, let's not fight, I killed him, eject me."
"NO! Who killed him."
"..."
"Ron, Donna was following me-"
"REALLY?!"
"YEAH REALLY"
"OH MY GOD"
*everyone arguing*
"I killed him. He said I was sus so I shot him. I predict 10 minutes from now I will get an imposter victory"
*Donna was not the imposter*
"Good, to be honest, she was sus."
I love leslie just steps in
Because shes a self sacrificing goody goody. That's why Ron immediately shut her down because he knew she'd take the fall if left alone. Workplace Conflict is Ron Swansons daytime television.
Legends has it, that they’re still fighting to this day.
Leslie: I broke it let me pay for it
Ron: *NO*
This part is atleast in almost any fandom that exists as a animatic and I love it.
I love every single episode of the series, but this is one of my favorites.
0:32 "I use the wooden stirrers to push back my cuticles, everyone knows that 💅😔😩"
Yassssss queen I do that too slayyy
"I predict ten minutes from now, they'll be at each other's throats with war paint on their faces and a pig head on a stick." Nice lord of the flies reference there.
the way that this clip was so iconic that literally every fandom has an animatic to this audio
I don’t watch parks and rec, I’ve never watched any parks and rec and up until this point I’ve had no plans to watch parks and rec but I love this. Thank you, youtube
I don't know why Ben throwing Donna under the bus had me laugh hard.
0:59
April : "Ben, your zipper is down"
Ben : "no, its not"
Also Ben : "wait, why you looking at there?"
Gotta love that Lord of the Flies reference at the end.
I love this scene so much I have every line memorized
I love how every fandom has an animatic do this
You know you created a good comedy sketch when every fandom does their own version
It’s like these guys are playing a game of Among Us (Ron is obviously the imposter)
I love the lord of the flies comment that Ron made there at the end
I remember seeing this a bunch in animated skits and stuff and it warms my heart that this is Among Us chats now. We’ve come full circle.
0:35 April says "Jerry" but the official captions say "Garry" lol
¨Donna´s been awfully quiet¨ -best among us quote in real life over coffee
This episode is the reason why Amoung Us was made for.
Ben: Ron….Donna’s been awfully quiet-
-“RRRREALLY?”
Ben: Oh yeah-! Really
The fact that this is now basically among us in TV form just makes my day
Leslie-takes the blame
Tom-The dumb one
Ben-the one who is trying to defend himself
Jerry-the smart one
Vaper-the last one to use the coffeepot
Donna-the quite one
Ron-i broke it
It burned my hand so I punched it
Wait, wouldn't it burn your hand even further?
hands down one of the best sitcom character studies to ever exist
This scene never fails to make me smile
“Good. It was getting a little chummy around here.”
I’m deceased
Watch this video with subtitles... April calls him Jerry but the captioner wrote "Garry" ... 2020 and people are still getting it wrong. I love it
I’ve seen this a couple times now, and just now do I realize that Ron makes a Lord of the Flies reference.
Ron Swanson is the greatest character ever!
“It burned my hand so I punched it” is such an underrated quote
Did anyone hear that laugh at the very end? I’m assuming the commotion at some point turned into actor banter at some point. Lol.
"It burned my hand, so I punched it"
Valid excuse 👌
I could see Ron doing this with his kids too.
He acts like a dad with kids. RS is a classic character.
Gotta love Ron
Just about every fandom has used this audio, it’s just perfect no matter what
An accurate representation of an average Among Us game.
this is even funnier when you remember that ben isn't even in ron’s department and outranks him, but he listens to him out of pure fear
I mean who would not?...
Ben didn’t outrank him at this point in the show.
I think Ben was a suspect because he frequented the Parks department often and probably used the machine a lot.
Don't know why Ann wasn't called in for this meeting. Maybe Ron forgot she existed.
cece I thought at this point Ben had gone to work for Pawnee.
Pecking order
