The Gutter, Bass Point

Warm and clear water. This time we took a compass bearing with more west in it than normal so we could explore. Cool baby cuttlefish and some squid plus a juvenile mosaic leatherjacket - never seen one before.

Hi Jacob. thanks for your comment. Its been a poor year for diving with all the rain and swell. Can't wait for it to settle down. The deepest you can get is about 24m but that is a long swim but worth it as that's where there is a lot of bottom growth. There is good diving in 18m or so. Depends on what you want to see. A lot of the depths less than 15m are 'white rock' - areas heavily grazed by sea urchins and with little or no growth.
