Other survival ideas: * Winter apocalypse survival (think Day After Tomorrow). Players were driving in summer when suddenly the radio has an alert about a sudden winter storm, then snow starts to fall, the radio advises everyone to seek shelter immediately as the storm is worse than anything we have seen before. The players manage to get off the road and into a large hotel near a mall/business district. There are other survivors (villagers) they can keep safe to trade for limited (expensive) supplies plus with enough people in an area you don't need as much of a heat source. Re-skin zombies as crazed starved survivors, skeletons as raiders, creepers are slow moving frozen people who explode into icy bits and risk freezing the player. * Plane Crash on a deserted island * Boat crashes into an oil platform that was abandoned due to mobs, could have sharks and other dangerous water mobs *Bus crashes into a large store or a mall during a zombie/monster outbreak. Players can find pockets of survivors (villagers) that they can trade with. With the mall idea you could have a "pet" shop where animals are or their spawn eggs. * Zombie apocalypse but you are workers at a shipping container port. Have a big shipping container ship, a container yard. Regular shipping containers, refrigerated ones that have food in them but they only have so much time before they lose power and the food becomes rotten flesh. * Cruise ship crashes into a deserted island, or a beach, or a port/dock * Monster survival where a bunch of wardens roam the world and head towards loud noises, but make their sonic blast paralyze players and only do a bit of damage instead of killing them, but the wardens can break blocks if they hear noises beyond the blocks. Hearing range is 10 to 15 blocks for average mob/players sounds unless there is flowing water nearby then they can only hear 5 blocks away. Flowing water can cover the sounds like that two people talking. Leather shoes muffle footsteps. Think of the movie series A Quiet Place. * Train or bus breaks down in desert during sand storm. Villagers are also on bus and will try to get out, they will drop random things over time that might be useful (survivor sharing their stuff kind of idea)
