Steve great video. One thing you might try when loading this motorcycle is to put the handle bar straps on first then roll it up. Make a front Chock/stop then pull the forks down into that it will stand on its own. Thanks for the information.
You should be able to come up with a wheel chalk for the front wheel. It should help balance the bike in place. That's what i use in the trailer on my Harley. Also the front tie downs either perpendicular to the handles or forward of them. Just the way i have done it for years. Only suggestions. Nice video Steve! 73.
This carrier is a bit weird. Its designed to be loaded from either side, so they don't have the wheel chock part... I'd need to make something (which isn't hard). And there is no place to tie down forward of the handlebars or aft of the rear tire. Great suggestions... can only imagine going down the road with a sub 300lb bike and 12 straps holding it down!
Looks like a bit of C Channel steel would be good on the end for the front tyre (tire) to go into, would help hold it in place and stop it from rolling to far forward when putting the bike on it, or maybe a big u clamp over the front and rear tyres (tires) once its on, to hold it as well, instead of just straps, would just need to weld a bit of steel to the rack for the clamps to go into.
Soft shackles might help you on the handlebars? Just a thought. Good stuff! Toy Hauler is the expensive, yet most correct way to haul, but ain’t got that that much coin!
I do like the front mount for the motorcycle when you are hauling an RV, but I think it blocking the headlights is an issue. I've seen where people have used plow lights to get above the bike.
Hey Tom! This truck is already a handful at night due to the DPO's super dark tint job. I can't tell if I like it or not... but I rarely drive at night to begin with, so I'm ok so far.
cut those tails so they don't come undone while you're driving and get caught in a tire. Better to look at the pro-taper tie down straps, which is what we use for dirt bikes. Carabiner swivel at the bottom, soft loop for the bike and velcro tie up. A bit more though, but the quality over the HF straps IMHO is worth it.
I know those ratchet straps have a higher rating than needed but just like radio stuff cover your self and tie it down, ratchet straps are good but cheep for a reason 👍truckers use a black rubber strap with hooks, looks like a bungee , extra security 👍
@ Be Carefull out running around in strange area’s sometimes you’ll run into some nuts out there like my daughter encountered in French Quarters on New Years , you never know , We got a good utube man don’t wanna loose him 😂👋
You’ll be doing wheelies on and off the ramp before you know it , don’t forget the first aid kit 😂
That would be funny to see a wheelie off the ramp!

I've been thinking about different ways to do it. I'd love to have a front wheel stop.
@ozone385 Great tip 👍 I remember learning from an old timer when I was young about compressing the front forks. Saved a lot of headaches.
It's definitely tricky with one person, but you made it look easy. Nice solution! Have fun on that bike out in the desert. Awesome place for riding.
Thanks, The desert rides are the #1 reason I got this bike. I've wanted to go trail/ADV riding forever... and "today is someday!"

Not a bad idea!

I ain't towing doubles though!

Sounds like a plan!
You need a bullet point mount on that dash. LoL
I've been looking for one, but I've been pretty lazy about it.
@livingforalivingRV i got one for my 2017 F250 and I love it. Have my phone mount, dashcam mounted, and working on my RV back up camera screen.

I have always gotten those black rubber straps as "free road pickups", Kinda like how I get my dinners!
