Today I will be sharing with you all my completed colouring pages in my book collection as of March 2022. This video will concentrate on the Hanna Karlzon books I have in my collection.

My goodness, your colourings are gorgeous! I never use my watercolour pencils (Arteza) as wet and I never base the colours with marker, so I feel inspired to try both, thanks to you!

Uhm... your works are stunningly beautiful 🤩 Wow! Why have I never seen you before? I'm actually stunned by the beauty of your works. They are so inspired. Your attention to detail is amazing and your use of color combinations is Genius. I think when you cover the black lines, it makes it look more like a painting 🖌️🎨. Very important element. New subscriber here. All I can say is WOW. Your pages are all gorgeous. I think my favorite was the butterflies followed very closely by the rainbow pages in spirit animals.
I haven't taken a look at your other videos yet so maybe you have this but I would love a tutorial on how you do your backgrounds. They are all amazing.

I wish I had realized that the Albrecht Durer pencils were the same as the Polychromos before I got my Poly's! I could have just gotten the Albrecht Durer pencils instead! But that's ok! I guess I will just have both because I do want the Albrecht Durer pencils asap! It's like having 2 in 1 since you can use them dry or activate them!
I know what you mean....I guess I was just lucky I tried out the Albrecht Dürers first and I was super happy with them. But I think there is an advantage to having the Polychromos - on some pages it does help having something that is not waterbased 🤗💗
@@shelscolouringjourney That's true! It's like we need one set of pencils for this, and another set of pencils for that, so we end up needing all of the sets LOL! I have the set of Castle Arts soft touch, Prismas, and Polychromos, but I plan to get more sets. I just started coloring around Feb/March so it will take me a little time to save up, but I will have those Albrecht Durer pencils! And I have "full set syndrome" LOL so there is no buying a smaller set! I must have all of the colors!

I tend to base with a light or midtone most of the time...but occasionally I use a light tone for basing and then a darker shade to add in the shadow areas, before going over in pencil 🤗💗

Can you tell me if there’s a certain set of tombows you use as you seam to baste with them, I was wondering if there’s a light tone set or pastel set you have, as they are so expensive I couldn’t afford them all, love the way you colour and the fact that you tell us what you use and how you use it is absolutely fabulous thank you so much 😊

Beautiful pieces. Are the Tombow markers very streaky when used to cover bigger areas?
Thank you so much! Yes they are streaky since they are waterbased markers - all waterbased markers will be streaky, especially in large areas 🤗💗
Outstanding work! absolutely beautiful... I'm just a beginner but I hope to one day become as good as you. Would you recommend any quality brush pens? I'm using faber castell pollychromas pencils at the minute but would like to start using different mediums. 😊

To be honest, I haven't used many others as I tried Tombows and loved them so never thought to buy others....but I have heard Arteza brush pens and Ohuhu brush pens are good...check out reviews! Just make sure you choose waterbased ones if you want them for double sided books 🤗💗

Can I just ask what type of tombow pens did you use in this video? I have ordered Tombow ABT-108C ABT Dual Brush Pens as they are water based. I fear that the ones I have ordered may be more for lettering. Is it best to change to Tombow ABT pro as it is more for illustration.
@@Fallen5321 Yes, the ones I use are the Tombow ABT 108C Dual brush pens….and yes they are used for lettering, but they are great in colouring books too! So if you were looking for the ones I used, you have ordered the correct ones 👍🏻💗
Hi Shell, loved your flip through of Hanna Karlzon books, but could I ask you a question please, when you say you base the colouring with your tombow pens, do you colour directly on to the page with them or do you put them onto your Caran d ache palette & then pick up with water & then add to the page??

Hi Nikkie, thank you so much, glad you liked the flips. So I use a combination of both to be honest. Usually for direct to paper I use the lights colours, and if I want a particular colour as my base and it’s a dark colour, I will use it off the palette. Also depends on paper….for Hanna Karlzon books I am happy using them direct to paper. But for paper like Amazon quality paper, I avoid using the pens direct to paper to look after the nibs (unless it is the premium like in Christine Karron books)….hope this helps? 🤗💗

Thank you for subscribing and welcome! I don't usually have an issue with Hanna Karlzon paper - the paper sometimes warps, but I haven't had any bleed throughs.... yet! 🤗💗

Thank you so much Jackie! I have the full 108 set of tombows...yes there are many dark colours, but if you use them on the palette like in my colour along video, you can apply them a lot lighter when needed. Try that out with the brand you have to see if that works 🤗💗

What colors did you use for the gold on the unicorn page in spirit animals?
I based the gold elements with tomboy dual brush pen - T090. And then used the fabercastell Albrecht dürer pencils: Burnt umber - 280, Raw umber - 180, Cream - 102, Ivory - 103
Sorry if this is a stupid question, but, how you sharpen your AD? I’m struggling to get a good point with the ones I have because the only one that kind of works better is the electric one and I feel I’m losing too much of my pencils 🥲 thanks in advance and I hope you see this comment on an old video of yours ❤
Not a silly question at all! I struggled for a long time with my ADs figuring out the best sharpeners for them. So I tend to use the Tenwin electric sharpener until it is too short to fit in it, and then I use a simple hand held silver Staedler sharpeners which gives a wonderful sharp point until it is too short to be able to sharpen anymore.
