On closer examination by a youtuber, the found the Thomas was hollowed out to only have STEAM GENERATORS and the SMOKEBOX was heavily modified to have the talking feature
And something else, the STRASBURG RAILROAD has the ONLY SELF-OPERATING TTTE in the world.... The ORIGINAL loco still runs, just spreading happiness to all children that adore TTTE
That Thomas was rebuilt from an old steam engine. That's why he is operational, and this is also the reason why he has a cowcatcher and visible cylinders.
