Ivan, well done. You have no idea how helpful this set of videos has been for us I was always fascinated with genetics on the farm growing up we are currently at stage cross 6 back to our white male in the exact same process you're going through thank you for the guidance again.
Very much the same, pink metallic hues, plus the neon grow like it's color under the scale maybe in the skin hue plus meat flesh of fish. But this meat color might be from food like sweet potato powder and kelp, stingingnetle
Ivan, watch this video seminar. I do believe it's a double recessive coming in from the chromatophores they speak about it at the very end of this seminar.
I love the silver/platinum irridescent male. He is a keeper. I believe that the irridescent gene comes from the original female for this line. As I mentioned, she is either a dumbo ear mosaic or a type of dragon strain. Those strains all have half moon tails [like she does] and typically show irridescence on the head and back. Just a thought.
It did. The caudal of the first female offspring was a Delta. It was much broader than the small round tail that would be the match for Gandalf. The caudal decreased from the half moon of the original female to a delta for her daughters with Gandalf. Likewise, the caudals of the male offspring were much larger than Gandalf's due to the half moon gene from their mother
Interesting. Do you think this is something that could be consistent? Producing deltas by crossing half moons to a round? Looking at Alan Bias gene reference table and his website, magenta seems to influence fin and caudal size. These offspring from cross 2 should be heterozygous for it and both heterozygous or homozygous in cross 8. So I was leaning towards magenta influence for explaining some of the caudal shape. But why delta over any other shape could be as you are suggesting. Also, looking at half moon shape in the same gene reference table suggests that it is X linked dominant. If this is indeed true, this brood should have had more half moons. I am planning on getting my hands on some half moons eventually. I'm hoping some of these questions could be answered then.
Without knowing how the gene works exactly, I would say that the Half Moon was likely created by crossing a superwide Delta [180 degrees] with a round tail. The Delta shape in the daughters occurred b/c it was a reduction in fin size from the combination of the half moon [mother] and roundtail/flagtail [Gandalf]. Most breeders believe that caudal shape is most heavily influenced/controlled from the females. Just my two cents.
I’ve seen a 24 karat gold male with this trait as well I got him from a batch of fry that was dropped from a 24 karat gold ribbon but all my ribbons did not make it so I was left with just the regular 24 karat gold I’ve been quite curious as to what this treat is called. This showed up after about four or five generations of inbreeding.
This is straight up soothing for neuro divergent people. S tier series, dont stop.
Thanks! I have more videos planned.

That’s awesome! Are you seeing similar looking offspring as mine? Like the males that are almost pink?

That's super cool and interesting that the pink hues are consistent.
I just watched your videos and went to the exam without studying (I failed)😂
😅
Beautiful fishes 🎉
Thank you!

Thanks! This looks interesting! It’s a bit of a lengthy video but I’ll watch it later today.

The last 15 minutes is best
Wow Evan they are great
Superb ❤
Thank you! I think so too!
@@IvansGuppies of course they are
I love these videos so much ugh
😁

I agree. I think female #2 originally carried the trait. I was also hoping the half moon characteristic would show up too.

@@al20o33 I'm super curious now! Hopefully I'll get to share an intentional cross like this soon!
Love these videos!
Thank you! I appreciate it!
excited to see what the fry from the C5 females look like.
Me too! Hopefully as close to 100% of them looking like Gandalf's phenotype.
super cool
Thank you!
Amazing
Thank you! Cheers!

One must circumcised gonna podium
I’ll save them
I’m holding on to the iridescent one too. He is in the 30 gallon tank.
Can u make a video about the community tank, what females did u find, what males are in and why these males?
How is the fry developing in this tank?
This is a good idea. I might make another video on it.
Magenta stores and yellow 🫵🏻🫵🏻🤣🤣🤣🤣try this
I think Alan Bias might have some that would look similar to this.
