    It is heartwarming when small town America comes out for festivals like this and the Coyotes always do a great job of showing them to us. Thanks for what you do.

      That small town holds so many special memories for me, every holiday and summer running like wild Indians with my cousins, it was my sanctuary. It took 10 hrs down 23 from Columbus before 75 was done in the early 70’s. That all stopped when the matriarch, Granny passed in 01” I knew it would and dreaded the day it would happen. Readin writin rt 23 explains my life perfectly. Dad came up here to work at Timken roller bearing instead of mining coal.

    I agree with Mrs Coyote! You won't get me on those rides anymore. Thank you! I kept seeing my Mamaw's/Aunt's house in the background when you were filming the carnival. The red brick building, that's an attorney's office, on the square was my Mamaw's dress shop (Nell's Dress Shoppe). I have many wonderful memories of that square. I even remember the old court house. I was hoping you'd go down the street that had the crafts. My cousin had a booth there for her pottery.

    • @IgnitedCoyote
      @IgnitedCoyote  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks Donna, sorry we missed your cousin's booth but we'll be back to Barbourville so hopefully if anything's going on and your cousin is part of it we'll l catch them the next time.

      @@IgnitedCoyote Her pottery company is Indian Horse Pottery. Another cousin, owns the BBQ joint on the square, Grateful Ed's. My Mamaw's store was Nell's Shoppe. It closed in the late 90's.You all sure help with the homesickness. I might've been raised in Chicagoland, but my roots are in Knox Co!

    I truly hate when a small country TOWN is labeled as a CITY! My roots are country and small town Kentucky. But I was born in Chicago and lived in the deep big CITY of Chicago for 41 years. Small town USA country towns and simple living is beautiful. A City is very large expensive dirty noisy and so on! Just my opinion.
