    🔎 About socials:
If I tag socials, then this should be done for ALL players (without a single exception), and not just for one person. Socials of some players can not be found (players with default nicknames, some Asian players, etc). I am convinced that it's extremely dishonest to tag contacts of few people and not to tag all the rest, so there will be no social links in description.
But I respect the players whose matches I post. Therefore, if you are sure that videos presented "as is" are not acceptable, I will stop posting content with your participation and remove the ones posted earlier.
If you want to tag socials by yourself, feel free to post usernames in comment section (TH-cam may remove links).

⚠️ All of the footage was captured by me directly from the in-game replay system (openly available for all players to view and share public replays) then edited in DaVinci Resolve. All footage represented on my channel is copyright free. The purpose of these videos is to provide educational high level content of Guilty Gear Strive, so the viewer can learn new combos and more!

I watched this to try to improve my Nago play cuz I felt like I just sucked and kept getting knocked back to floor 7. After seeing the #1 ranked Nago player make the same mistakes I do makes me feel a lot better. That being said, I definitely learned a lot here:
    1. I need to learn how to cancel my special moves into each other like how at 1:25 he cancelled Zarameyuki into a Fukyo to close the gap and do damage.
    2. At 1:35, he hit two command grabs in a row. I'm lucky if I can land even one in a match. It's his most useful move and I need to get into situations where I can land it more.
    3. After going through multiple matches of getting trapped by characters doing continuous strings, I came here hoping to learn how to do that. But it didn't happen! Instead, I learned I need to get better at mixups and use different command normals from time to time to get me out of some closer range binds.
    4. BLOCKING AND ROMAN CANCELLING. Don't get me wrong, I know how to block. But it never seems like Nago wants to do it when I press the buttons. I need to fit Roman cancelling into my combos to up my game.
Gonna head home later and apply these things to see if I can up my game.
    Edit: LMAO 5:08 WAS CRAZY

      1. Nearly all of Nago's specials cancel into one another. You know how some normals gatling into one another because they're designed to? Nago's specials are the same way. What you're looking to get better at is queuing moves back to back faster, and moving with the flow of the match. This is essential to planning out your offense and mix because:
2: Biting is incredibly essential, yes. There's half a dozen or more ways to work it into your offense, and Fukyo is one of the most important parts of this. I...HIGHLY recommend cracking open Nago's page on Dustloop and just reading and reading and reading. You'll discover some interesting tools to practice. The first one I recommend is :after you do a full f.SSS, hit Red Roman Cancel and backdash at the same time. You'll drift backwards during the RRC. Immediately fukyo forward and Bite when you land. This is perfectly timed to catch someone RIGHT as they stop being affected by the RC timestop. The only thing that might save them is jumping out of it, and they pretty much have to be upbacking the entire time.
      3. Congrats, you've found Nago's literal biggest weakness: defense. Most of his buttons are *not* fast enough to escape the corner pressure of most characters in the game. The only options you'll have to reliably escape are your fastest buttons like 5p and Throw (and sometimes 5K), and the only reversal he has is his super, which isn't the easiest thing to throw out mid-blockstring. You'll likely have to spend 50 meter using Yellow RC. I do it all the time. Getting out of pressure is, obviously, different based on who you're facing. You'll learn it naturally over time as you do more matches against better and better players. It's gonna be rough. Stick with it.
      4. Blocking is literally just holding Back. What's happening is you're getting High/Low mixed. If you're standing and blocking and someone swings low, you're gonna get hit, and vice versa. Important thing to note: all jumping attacks are overheads. They have to be blocked standing. And yes, knowing what all four roman cancels do and when and how to use them is game changing. Life altering if you're new to fighting games in general. The day I started experimenting with RCs everything changed and I was facing Celestial challenges inside of a month. Learn drift RCs as I mentioned in point #2, they're a neat and very useful trick. Especially drift blue RC. You can get some fun bites off with that.
      Good luck.

      @@pseudowraith Back after a month!
Still can't cancel moves into each other but I think that's just an issue with my fingers and timing (I play on a PS5 controller). Longest combo I can do semi-consistently is Shizuriyuki->Fukyo->f.SSSS->RRC->Kamuriyuki OR Shizuriyuki depending on timing. Downside is I've never once hit this in an actual match and have only managed to do so in training mode. But here's what I CAN do now:
      1. Consistent blocking: I can now save myself from most of the damage done to me. But my greatest downfall is rushdown characters, specifically Millia, Bridget, and Chipp. Ram too but she's a different kind of annoying. I've learned to incorporate gold RC to get out of corners, but I still need to learn when to appropriately use blue and purple. My favorite is when I'm in a corner dealing with pressure and I get hit and quickly use purple RC-> Crouching HS-> Kamuriyuki to get under them-> Slash string. My brain also knows when to use red, but I just don't for some reason???
      2. BITING!!! I haven't woven it into some fancy combos like the one you suggested (although that looks really fun and I will be trying it once I get home today.) But it's great for when I'm trying to do basic pressure on them and my blood rage is getting up there so I hit 'em with a good old f.SS- SIKE command grab. One time, I was facing a Potemkin who decided to start with a Wild Assault. I tend to start rounds with either Shizuriyuki or FP, so I wanted to start with Shizuriyuki this time. But this time my brain told me hit P instead of HS for some reason and it worked out beautifully and he dashed right into my grasp. I can now land command grabs at least once or twice a match. My record is 4 in a round.
So that's what I can do now. Obviously a lot can improve, but I can only go up. Your tips are incredibly helpful and I will be attempting them when I get home for the day. Unless I give up and decide I want to be a brainless gorilla and play Sol. Will update soon!

Hell yeah lil bro, get it! Glad to hear you've been practicing.
It sounds like you've figured out the neutral game fairly well. I'm impressed by your knowledge of using Purple to steal turns back, that's a good one! Keep it up.
Chaining specials is easier than it sounds, I can already tell you've got the foundation. Sometimes you really do have to exaggerate the input to get it to stick right. Doing things like chaining Shizuri and beyblade back to back is harder than it sounds. I even ended up getting a Hori Octa for the PS/PC cause it had a smaller DPad with sensitivity control.
      th-cam.com/video/l0WFvEJRxeM/w-d-xo.html
Practice this roundstart. It's really funny and also kinda dangerous, but if you get good with it and get a wallstick at the end, they're basically dead. I will say it's a bit weirder now post-patch cause they changed the blowback values for both abilities, but it's still possible.
Never use it while they have burst is all I'll say.
Everything after learning that is just applying the tech.

NBNHMR is just really damn good but keep in mind this channel cherry picks matches.
So you shouldn't take this channel as anything more than entertainment but...
Some people consider him the only real nago main.
Thats not to say the others are bad but they, from what im told and have seen, do not have the same performance that NBN does.
Hotashi tells ppl if they want to win to NOT play like him.
A certain someone, one of ppls favorite content creators, basically said most of the good Nagos have gimmicky playstyles and once you figure it out the character falls apart.
NBNHMR seems to be the only one not only with a consistent record but has a more well spread play style.
Nago is a strong character but NBNs execution and decision making even without the new mix more or less exposes the flaws of how ppl tackle Nago.
