Em came from dirt. A broken home, addict mom, rough area. Everything he did, he did for Hailey and the kids he adopted. Only thing he deserves is respect
According to Halie, she was guarded from all the negativity that was going on between her parents. She had no idea. It wasn't until she was older and was listening to his music (and I'm guessing talking to him about it all) that she learned how bad things were. They did an amazing job of protecting her. I would highly recommend going back to the first parts of his career and listening to tracks from albums in order as he does make references to previous tracks and you will miss them.
I'd say it's just as somber in terms of the scale it funcitons on. Lots of similar notes as this song. But yeah the subject matter has more of a silver lining
@ I agree, but the chorus and outro both gave off a “be yourself screw them” vibe. I was in a pretty bad spot the first time I heard it. Life felt like the verses and I needed the chorus
I am german and I always was into Hiphop and your channel made my mind up for other music, I discovered Rammstein because of you and went to two of their concerts the last years - and now the circle finally closes and you react to Eminem, my all time favorite. It is crazy. Edit: As a father in divorce who isn't able to raise his kids like I wish I could, it really even hits more after knowing your story about being a child of divorce. Wow, I am only 4 minutes in and I think this reaction will hit my soul.
Shortly after “The Death of Slim Shady” came out, Haile (on her podcast) talked about what it was like growing up and not realizing how hard it was for her parents raising herself and her sisters. She also talked about her thoughts on “Somebody Save Me” and “Temporary”. It was so sweet.
It's great to know that Hallie is doing really well. She has a podcast, a husband, she's pregnant, and Eminem is going to be a Grandpa. Crazy to think about.
Listening to this song as a teenager when it first came out, and listening to it now as an adult with a daughter this song hits even harder. This song is timeless it transcends hip hop.
I grew up on Eminem. Used to be on my boom box all the time. However listening to this song all these years later as a dad myself, this song hits so different.
As a father of a 4 year old daughter, this might be my favorite song Em ever made. Loved your genuine reaction!!! When I’m Gone is incredible btw I’d love to see your reaction!
Aileen… I love that you are never afraid to show emotion, where emotion is calling. I usually watch your reviews twice…one watching the video, and the other to see your expressions. So much passion and empathy…incredibly done…and thank you!! A non-review question (that I suspect I already know the answer); any more tattoos planned?? They look fantastic!!
im grateful to have discovered u pretty recently and especially knowing that u went through something similar makes u who u r. with all these reactions and genuinely the only one i really ever watch these types of reactions and makes it that much more special to me. u have a heart of gold to be flooded with emotions with these particularly emotional tracks and i ADORE u for it 🥰🥰🥰 dont ever change queen! LOVE U ❤❤
You say Nobody cares about your input, maybe thats why being told im Nobody since kindergarten, but i really love ur input, its so true and even deep💔💜 keep being you, ur awesome 💪🏻💙
I remember when I first heard this song... I was walking to work listening to the CD on my portable CD player... And I swear.. When this song came on it was raining. And the tears were flowing. I was going tru some ROUGH shit with my wife. And the uncertainty of what was going to happen with my family. Don't worry everything ended up great. Love my wife more than anything now. And my daughter has given me 2 beautiful grandbabies. And you're 30? Wtf thought you were 21 at best. Also... Please I want to see your reaction to the Falling in Reverse "Trilogy". Keep up the great work, sis!
This is one of those songs that has me immersed in it and bawling my eyes out throughout the whole thing but the end brings out a chuckle that has me "snap back to reality" 😅
Em definitely has his moments where he makes you laugh, makes you mad, and can make you cry. This is a good one, but like others said, "When I'm Gone" is a good one for the feels as well.
The whole "stay together for the kids" notion is LAUGHABLE!! Kids see and feel what is going on around them, they absorb everything that goes on around them....good and bad!!! To stay together thru the turmoil hurts the kids more than a separation.
As someone who didn’t listen to this song for the lyrics and am actually listening now. I can say I’m crying. I for one had to go through parents breaking up. But I don’t remember or maybe I’m covering it up idk. Just hearing it and thinking about it makes me cry but this song is comforting in a way
These songs really are surprising me and they really quite moving. Thank you for bringing them to my attention. Something I definitely wouldn't have previously thought of checking out.
This is such a wild song, I'm glad you did it after temporary, it's wild you didn't hear it beforehand but at the same time I respect everybody trying to have a blast on this journey, there is so many more songs so don't listen to all the comments but I hope you enjoy yourself across these listening listening sessions you have
The family issues while growing up are still one of my biggest fears. My dad was an alcoholic asshole, which made me fear the vision of me one day becoming father as well, possibly making a hell out my children's lives. But it's so nice to see a great example of someone who broke the cycle and got through this much hardship.
This is arguably my favorite Em song of all time...all his songs about Hailey have always been my favorites and hit different when I became a girl dad!
i've heard this song so many times, but after going through divorce and what my kids have been through because of that, this song def hits different for me listening now
Three hours ago I was humming that same song and I was looking for it to listen to the whole thing and I just saw that you uploaded a video of that same song reacting for the first time 🙊
Wow, not the song, you. I love this song, one of my favorites of his. But never have I felt this reaction that I felt just watching you feel it. Almost made me want to cry. I have never heard of you but I'm so glad the algorithm sent you to me (I know it's because of Eminem), love your voice, you're so beautiful and obviously full of emotion. Beautiful video, I'm a fan.
Between Mockingbird, Temporary and Save Me... Eminem, despite his alter-ego stuff, is a freaking lyrical genius who knows how to put his heart in his music...
Good God!!! This song absolutely destroyed me 💔💔 I honestly couldn't get this out of my head for days...I've always wanted to wake up for almost 2 years now and and see that it was all a dream and Heaven didn't take you and life didn't take the kids in their destined and necessary paths far away.... Loneliness has tormented me ever since along with guilt, remorse and the memories of a better time & life...😭😭😭
People can say what they like about where em is on there greatest rappers list and all that but nobody can take away the fact that he made it, got out, raised three well mannered unbroken human beings and broke generational trauma and gave them a wonderful life, fair play to him
Your so good I love watching your content. I have a song suggestion I tried to see if u had one, but didn't see one. Wasted years iron maiden words were my life! Keep up the great work
You should definitely listen to castle and arose (2 songs that must be listened to one after the other in that order). You won't regret it. Other recommendations for emotional em songs: cleaning out my closet and the headlights, bad husband, toy soldier, when I'm gone, Beautiful, Not afraid, hailies song.
It's a weird feeling for me seeing Haley all grown up, and how much of a great father Em was. It's almost like I grew up with them and have that feeling of pride in them with where they came from to where they are now.
Petit bonjour de la France !! Eminem un génie dans le monde de la musique ! 💯 Le son de ce titre me fait beaucoup penser au titre "Cleanin' out my closet" . C'est très similaire je trouve.
It should be noted that at the beginning of his career he constantly spoke negatively about Kim, after all "Bonnie and Clyde" and "Kim" exist in his discography, but in this song he reached A point where he said to himself "maybe we weren't perfect for each other but she did wonderful things for me and the girls", this song is the way he is expressing to his girls Hailey in particular, why her mother has been absent and why they may hear negative things about her but they should never forget that she loves them, Not to mention that he was struggling with his addiction and his music at that point was almost like a possible testament to his daughters in case something could happen to him, this song hits me like a car 😢
I’m a child of divorce as well, and whenever I want to have a good cry, this is my go to song. Brilliant reaction as ever Aileen, all the love from the UK ❤️
Great video as always 💙 You're the only react channel that I watch as from what I can tell we share a similar story so it hits harder May I suggest another Five Finger Death Punch song/video - called "Coming Down" It made me (a guy in his 20s) shed a tear, thank you!
Please do Like toy Soldiers! Also, yeah, watching these in reverse is a really powerful story. It adds this new layer of hope to a previously very somber tale.
Mockingbird is such a great song. I'm a product of divorced parents, and so are my kids. Rule number 1, nobody (including me) badmouths my kid's mom in front of them. Anything negative that she has done, they have had to live through it, and they will see anything negative or positive through their own experience. Nobody should be influencing their views of her. I thought my mom was a saint growing up, and as I got older, I learned differently and had a little different view; and it's up to them to form their own opinion and relationship.
Em came from dirt. A broken home, addict mom, rough area. Everything he did, he did for Hailey and the kids he adopted. Only thing he deserves is respect
couldnt have been said any better.
Yeah how do you know? How do you know he's not really a gay ballerina like Tupac???
@@TheChaz81 he can be whatever tf he wants, his music is good and he built himself up from nowhere.
@@stefanogeldhof6891 got it so if you pick yourself up by the boot straps, make good music, you can go to Diddy parties scott free!

When I'm gone- Eminem
Not afraid-Eminem
Both great songs
W profile picture. Gintama is the best.
@@CeprainoCabrera Glad to come across another Gintama fan!
Don’t know if you’ve heard Hailie’s song, but I suggest you can listen to that one. It’s one of my faves.
“Beautiful” is a bit more uplifting and helped me when things were rough
It became a HS anthem immediately!
I'd say it's just as somber in terms of the scale it funcitons on. Lots of similar notes as this song. But yeah the subject matter has more of a silver lining
I think «beautiful» is one of his heavier songs, emotionally speaking. Very somber
@ I agree, but the chorus and outro both gave off a “be yourself screw them” vibe. I was in a pretty bad spot the first time I heard it. Life felt like the verses and I needed the chorus

No other artist has invoked such emotions in myself. Laughter, rage, crying, etc. He grew up with us, and let us all the way in.... My 🐐
Exactly. There's a reason Stan nation is so large and dedicated.
You probably never listened to 2Pac ❣️ then
@Amandee9_v43 Who hasn't listened to Pac? ".... such emotion in MYSELF." "MY 🐐."
But Em can't be someone's goat, can he?

Happy Monday. Thanks for the Eminem to start the week off
I love your reactions 💙

The line about talking to Laney always gets me. Such a powerful sense of kindness and pride washing over me for how he steps up for both of them👏🏻

When im Gone was supposed to be his goodbye song before he overdosed in 2007. The Music Video also is Amazing.
Eminem - when im gone
Is even better!
And hailies song is great too
such a great reaction. thank you Aileen
5 seconds in and the feels are already hitting 😅
Don't worry Aileen we all felt the same hearing this song for the first time.
Music can heal a generation...and a culture. We need healing.
I can't believe you hearing this for the first time.....at the beginning nobody could run away, cause it was played everywhere ;-)
This song gets to me every time I listen to it keep on the good work.
Between Mockingbird, Temporary and Save Me... Eminem, despite his alter-ego stuff, is a freaking lyrical genius who knows how to put his heart in his music...
How amazing of a father he is....a straight role model. ❤
I remember hearing this song forever ago and how sad this song was back then. I already wanna give you a hug knowing how sad it’s going to make you 😭🖤
One of Eminem's best songs. You need to react to "My Dad's Gone Crazy". Completely different vibe and will make you laugh 😂 🎶 🔥

Le son de ce titre me fait beaucoup penser au titre "Cleanin' out my closet" . C'est très similaire je trouve.

Stronger than i was - Eminem
that's a good one too, i feel like it so underrated
i to am a child of divorce. sadly all i have is my mom, pops was taken by ptsd from desert storm... so songs like this speak volumes to me.
I'm seeing a lot of great suggestions in the same vein as mockingbird so I'll throw castle and arose in there too.

Masterpiece
this has been a favorite song of mine forever
I miss u so much my favorite latina 😍😍🤗
I remember that awesome song
If you're on the emotional Em train, Castle & Arose is a must
Hailie's song - Eminem is literally just depression, but i recommend reacting to it
I was just like Haly but I’m making the world a better place now because I don’t want anyone else to go through the stuff I went through
You are my favorite youtuber
Eminem’s song mockingbird was my introduction to his music

Em is the King
That Song kills me everytime
I don't know why, but I always cry when i listen to this song .. And the part with christmas always got me. Eminem is fuckin strong.
❤ great reaction 😊
You got to listen When I'm gone, it's a beautiful song!
Nice Aileen
When I'm gone is a favorite for sure
When I'm Gone
Not Afraid
Headlight
Bad Husband
Castle and Arose (2 different tracks)
Leaving Heaven
Mockingbird ♾️ Somebody Save Me ♾️ Temporary
Great tune
After how long it been out and now it’s a reaction
Eminem has alot of really good songs but it would be awesome if you would react on ”when I’m gone” it’s also about Hailie but when she’s little older
Beautiful is a must and when I'm gone
Mockingbird is such a great song. I'm a product of divorced parents, and so are my kids. Rule number 1, nobody (including me) badmouths my kid's mom in front of them. Anything negative that she has done, they have had to live through it, and they will see anything negative or positive through their own experience. Nobody should be influencing their views of her. Oh how i feel the tearing up as a kid of divorced parents and the feelings they must have gone through
I am not a big rap and hip hop fan, but Eminem hits differently. He is not a genre but a musical genius.
