I forgot about these limited run games. they are so poorly advertised, so short and sometimes expensive that the hardest of hardcore fans are the only ones who get them (I consider myself a pretty hardcore fan but not always up on the latest stuff). I own several copies of JK/MotS, both digital and physical. KEEPING games available in physical media is a great thing however (and for later games, keeping the online abilities open!)
These games have a special place in my heart. They actually got me into Star Wars as a kid and Kyle Katarn was awesome. I know the chances of a Jedi Knight 3 are slim, but man, I'd love another game in this vein.
If they did another I would want it to play more like JKDF2 and MotS than JO/JA meaning quick movements and good jumping height with non force. JO/JA always drove me crazy how slow the character moves and Force Speed slows him/her down even more lol.
Dont get me wrong I appreciate JO and JA but not as much as JK and MotS. JK and MotS even DF feel very special for using their own engine and unique instead of just another Quake clone. Also I love how fast you can run and how high you can jump in JK and MotS vs JO and JA. JO and JA you feel very slow and can't jump very high and once you get force speed it slows you down even more haha.
@@JKCougar I wish the people that do Movie duels (the movie mods for Jedi academy) should do a version that uses Mysteries of the Smiths engine. I'd love a PS1 style conversion mod with all the movie characters.
when it comes to stuff like this I am more interested in digital extras (on disc) vs. physical swag. priority 1 of course is that the game plays fine on my system, but behind the scenes footage, deleted or bonus playable content is what I think a lot of gamers would like to see, myself included, even if the game itself is 1:1 the same as back in the day.
I might just do that! I have a few other JK and MotS videos in the works and I can start writing up my thoughts to get them organized. I don't think they are bad necessarily but I feel like they were a step back and could have been so much better. To give you a preview of what I'm thinking... I think JA was better than JO and I think JO aged badly especially level design and color palette. Those Carin and Doomgiver levels are so freaking drab compared to the levels we got in JK and MotS. Also Nar Shadda looked nothing like how it looked in JK when you looked up there were no stars it was just blackness and looked like you were in a giant warehouse it was also super dark and again very drab where at least JK gave you rusted walkways and graffiti and the typical star wars lighting going up near by buildings.... just a preview there's more up in my brain lol

Wow! I had no idea that Limited Run did a release of this! That’s so cool!

Super cool, thanks for sharing! And don't worry, Jedi Knight Dark Forces 2 is the best!

Also also: I love those framings
Also: do the JK is better than JO JA rant! I’d listen and probably agree (even tho I do love JA)

@@JKCougar yeah, JK and MOTS just had so much more personality and griminess
Geez, I gotta get me some of these.
Does the CD included with the Dark Forces limited run release work on MS-DOS like the original release did?
Fuck yeah dude!
I also got this!
I call it: The Kyle Katarn Saga.
I enjoy Dark Forces 2 engine more than Jedi academy and outcast. tho it doesn't compare to movie duels.
