The framerate on Switch is definitely not a deal breaker for me, I still enjoy it. With that said, I certainly wouldn't mind if Switch 2 could give it a little boost (if it's backwards compatible)
Wishing it for backward compatibility. I may buy it on Switch because that's the only device I have. But definitely not at full price(just recently bought TotK and Star Ocean 2 so I'm kind of broke at the moment). 😅
Fact: frame rate does not affect gameplay unless it's below 15. 20 is the bare minimum. Learned it with running Doom 3 on a toaster, and it was always below 10-15. Once it reached 20, it was soooo smooth.
I played the original on Switch and currently playing Vengeance again on Switch. Never had a problem with the frame rate, that is to a degree that it becomes a hindrance. I’d have preferred better resolution in the menu screens but that is perhaps the extent of my technical issues with the game. I’m glad it’s now available on all platforms. It deserves wider acknowledgment and appreciation.
I’m playing it on PS5, and it is like a completely new game. I enjoyed a lot the Switch version back on 2021, but once I started playing it on PS5 I knew this was one of these games that needed to be played in a device with more capacity. It looks so clean. I understand too that this game was created an incredible artistic design (not too realistic/ not to anime) that almost looks like an actual gen product. Atlus did an incredible technical work with it since the beginning and I’m glad we can experience the game as shiny and polished as it should be.
Totally agreed! The switch framerates in some areas gave me a headache, especially for a game that needs your eyes open for loot and enemies constantly. This is how this game should have been from day 1
Got it on switch anyway because I prefer the portability on it. Frame rate can be an issue but it can also be funny. It doesn't really mess with me enough to care
Simply game of the decade for me. Stopped playing on the original Switch version and waited years simply to one day experience this masterpiece as intended. Currently playing 90 fps on Steam Deck is all I need from this game until GTA6, honestly.
I play the original on switch, and also playing Vengeance on the switch. You guys are exaggerating about the frame rate, maybe sony is paying?, dunno. Might buy it also on PC eventually but honestly, switch is more than enough.
@@kushmanjr69 Nah, you think again, most youtubers are talking about ps5 version despite pc having future mod support to be waaaaay better than anything ps5 will offer.
I agree. I played the original on Switch and decided to get Vengeance on Switch for the portability. So far this feels like it plays a bit smoother than the original release
No one's exaggerating about the frame rate. Some can force themselves to play a subpar experience on Switch, while others don't have to delude themselves for the better options now. GameXplain pampers far too much to their mostly Nintendo audience to not upset them. It's to their detriment at times when they have be so obviously cautious in their wording to avoid pushback.
@@jynxce No one is forcing, you are lying, currently 20 hours in vengeance, more than 15 cycles in the original. Haven't had an issue with frame rate. They are exaggerating, you are too.
I didn't have that much issue with fhe frame rate, but than again i got switch lite so i'm playinf on handheld by default, which could have maybe the performance more stable since i have to sacrifice graphic power and such.
did no one notice the performance toggles in the options menu of the game? turning off AA and.... there was something else, but turning those off and I felt the game performed a bit better honestly got this on Switch bc I got V_1 on Switch, and going to keep playing it on Switch2 when it drops
While performance is great on the switch, I’m personally able to handle it. And is so one of the best looking games in the switch (take into fact there’s graphically no difference between consoles besides res and performance)). In fact, one thing that looks better on it than on higher res ports (ps5 etc), because if the lower res, the shimmering in the sand is way more pronounced. I believe it’s just because of the quirks of unreal engine at low res. And I want them to somehow artificially bring this back to ps5 etc
Also Persona 5 Tactica. people really slept on that game. Fortunately, it sold better than people think thanks to game pass and digital sales. People say that Persona has too many spin-offs. if it were only super small low effort games then I agree with them but all Persona spin-offs are good or great games
yeah, atlus' 2024 lineup has been and looks great! only halfway through the year and we've already had 3 fantastic games. it's crazy we've still got more to come
I still have Persona 3 Reload to finish, not to mention the previous entries including SMT 4 & Apocalypse on 3DS, so I think it won't be a while until I get to this game. That said I do hope the new Nintendo console not only has backward compatibility but also improves performance as well, while we're at it I would eventually like to see the rest of the series on one console or PC at some point in the future (emulator notwithstanding).
The frame-rate isn’t great on Switch but you guys are making too big of a deal about it. It’s not 15-20 frames at all times, thats inaccurate, it dips below 30, 25 at times and occasionally around 20. It’s totally playable on Switch, PS5 smoother sure but not truly portable. If you play SMT5V on Switch portable it’s a totally valid way to experience it.

Man I feel like the bar is so much lower for these types of games than say a western FPS or action adventure. This game looks straight out of the mid 2000's with writing that makes teen novels look like classic literature. The stupid sway back and forth ambient character animations are so dumb. Also, not a real criticism because it's subjective, but my God, how can people enjoy turn based action after like 1992? Just why?
When turn based combat is done right it offers a level of stategy and depth that faster paced games lack. Turn based combat is my favorite. A lot of my favorite games ever are turn based rpgs. But even I don’t really care for the most basic turn based systems like in the original final fantasy and dragon quest games. When games are too fast paced, I feel like I am just button mashing.
It's a full game for a full price. Already beating the likes of Destiny and such. The reason turn based combat is holding up is because it really has to reinvent the wheel in order to be interesting in this climate. Even dunkey who hates turn based games had to give p5 a pass.
