Furface is first again😌 Great informative video & lots to think about if someone is thinking of taking the plunge. A friend of mine bought a static caravan & they were shown where it was going. The other caravan there was being moved & they thought the decking would stay, but they were wrong. They were told because their caravan doors were in a different position the decking wasn't suitable. They had to pay £6500 to have the decking & fence put up at the front & half way down the side of their caravan!!
Oh how I've missed you guys.....no Internet for 3 days!! Back on today and TTs was first port of call😊 brilliant tips for anyone considering a seasonal pitch. Off to watch the next video ❤
I never knew there were so many rules and extra costs, I assumed your yearly payment would cover it all. Also the proximity and parking space of shops good stuff ! Great video thank you
Hi Dan and Mazzy , I have been following you both for a couple of months now and you both make me laugh, great content. I seen your T-shirts so bought myself one 😊 we’re in the middle of building our van and you both have been a great inspiration xx Liz
Very informative thank you for the information. Our seasonal pitch for our tourer is on a 12 month contract. It includes water but electric is 40p per unit plus vat. Its a lovely site with bar, restaurant and entertainment. We wont be renewing next year as we were there saturday for one night and it cost us £20 in electric - we also used some gas as well to boost the heating. Just not worth it for us. We will be touring next year at sites where electricity is included. 😀 The caravan was 7 degrees when we arrived and it took 3 hours to heat up.
Good point about your awning fitting onto a pitch. We have been on several CMC sites where our Vango Hexaway did not fit onto our pitch including the guide ropes outside of our pitch and got asked to move.!!
Thank you both we don’t have a site ourselves or even a van , but what you mentioned , I 😢am sure will be very helpful to many people either with one , or thinking of doing so. Take care both .
We bought a static caravan once, the man in the sales office told us a lot of lies to get us to buy… we had a lot of problems there and it was the start of my high blood pressure! We had even more problems when it came to selling!
A couple who i worked with had the same problem. They had to sell the static "think it was because of the age of their van" back to the campsite owners at a rip off price. One other thing is some campsites won't let you buy bottled gas for your static unless it's supplied by themselves.
We are on our 5th year of being seasonal. In that time we’ve been on 3 sites. Just started on our new site, our first all year round one. Electric and everything included in fee. Best move and site we’ve been on so far. Love being seasonal, takes all the stress away. Some it suits some it doesn’t.. all personal choice. ❤ xx
Before watching your channel we stayed a couple of nights at your campsite on a touring pitch. Enjoyed the area and walked to a pub ran by an elderly couple then. Sorry I don’t remember the name of the pub. Just wondering if it’s still open and if they are still there. Had a nice meal but remember the lady was very insistent on booking ahead and served the food herself. It was like going to grans for tea. 😊. We only use our van for touring here and abroad .. hard to imagine it as our only home but love watching your vlogs. How do you feel after spending a lot of the summer in hotels travelling abroad .. is it something you’re planning to do more of?
Love this you both are so lovely thanks for doing what you do love you both so much 💗 💖 ❤️ 💕 💓 💛 mazzy I love your natural hair colour coming through 😊😊😊😊😊❤❤❤❤❤
Dan what about mentioning good tv reception if you like to watch tv and possibly if wi fi is available. Thanks for all the great tips, some things you dont even think about till you said. Keep them vlogs coming, brill.
We've thought about a seasonal pitch or pitch and winter storage. We have a caravan and would use it for weekends and a few weeks holiday, so I would want somewhere no more than an hour/hour and half from home. Some campsites I've looked at you can pay monthly. The problem I found Is that the good ones near plenty of things to do are so popular that people stay for years cutting down the availability for newcomers. We have also seen that some seasonal sections are quite clique.
Hello There Dan and Mazzy , Hope you are well and enjoying your weekend , Great video and All Really useful Tips , i Think you had a wonderful campsite warden because he was always helping people , so Thank you for all your tip and Advice , Keep up your Great work , Take care Dan and Mazzy , XX 🌞👍👍♥♥
evening both WoW there is certainly a lot to think about thats for sure thank u both for all your information was a great vlog. send big hugs much respect sue xxx
That was a great video of you both to do that and im sure other campers will take advice from that...And the day that you both leave the site Neil will be crying that you both goin away from him
That’s why I can’t understand they have put wooden decking on the statics because I’m sure east lyndsey council say you have to have plastic decking now due too fire risks a lot of static campsite are now telling people to take wood off and replace with plastic decking due to council inspections
That was a really good comprehensive summary of seasonal pitch selection both. I’ve had both static and tourer seasonal pitches and only by luck , couldn’t complain. But know a few people that have had horror stories to share. Again, well done both.
Very interesting. I have personally never considered a seasonal pitch, simply because I never tend to stay at a location for more than a week, then go home afterwards before the next one. Some good stuff mentioned in this video, things it's easy to not realise when only staying short term. Mate of mine bought a static home and the roof caved in during one of the storms last winter. It put me off the idea immediately!

Decking is usually extra.
Thanks Dan & Mazzie that was really helpful as I’m interested in a seasonal.
