I like how this 'Monkeys swinging on trees' feels like thinking outside of the box, but it's completely dependent on understanding basic theory. This is the kind of lesson that says, "you know it, so do it. This is how to have fun with what you've learned." Thank you for your guidance!
When I started to learn music theory from the internet (with you as my favorite teacher, dear Jason) I drew the Riemann Tonnetz twice - one with flats and one with sharps. They are of course the same, but it is easier that way. I put it up over my piano beside the circle of fifths and every time I hit a tricky note to harmonize I just look it up on the Tonnetz or Chord Tree as you call it.

Most welcome Tom 🙏🏼
I love this! It's a way to get out of the box. It's also a way to get a good mental workout but I think it will be worth the effort. Thanks Jason!
You're welcome Reba! Glad to know you enjoyed this!
This is a remake of a video Jason has done which I watched about a year ago. And I printed out the tree chart and learned it. It helped a lot.
Merci.
I'm glad to hear that! You’re welcome
I love the way you hum with the music. It sounds very mesmerizing.
Thanks Shradha! 😃
One of the many 'superpowers' that makes Jason such a fantastic teacher!
