The call of the west lured immigrants down the Ohio River to the frontier. Westward expansion, new land, and a new start enticed settlers from the east coast to land in Kentucky, Ohio, and Indiana. The people of Madison overcame obstacles of geography to create their home on the Ohio River bank.

The little town of Milton Ky was founded in 1789 right across the river.
I believe there was settlement here prior to JP call Wakefield.
