Due to the many requests, I will do a WP 30 day challenge. Last time I played with a windows device it was the Surface tablet. If you didn't see my review on it, check the video down below. I actually enjoyed this tablet and still think it's one of the best built tablets ever made.
lol Will you try a 30 days challenge with Ubuntu Touch on your Nexus 4 after that? xD I have been using it for 5 days now and I liked it, but.... damn.... no apps ._.
After your review I can see these small advantages of Surface at last. For me, the RT tablets are unuseful (even I have full Win 8 Pro on desktop already, Store without key apps is a pain). But I can imagine the potencial of the next Surface with full Win 8 now… Thanks.
This is an awesome tablet equipped with a great new Windows experience. If only the price would be more competitive. I guess, people will still keep buying cheaper Android tablet...
No need to confess hehe there is nothing wrong with liking multiple devices from different manufacturers. People think you have to belong to a camp, nothing wrong with liking a Ferrari and a Porsche. Same here, I give credit where credit is due and Microsoft did a great job!
Great video, Armando. Really made the Surface seem much more appealing than I previously believed. I loved how you really showed the browser, and demonstrated how fluidly it performed. I just wish it were a little cheaper. Keep up the good work, love your posts!
Finally a fair review, unlike others who said TABLET NOT RECOMMENDED because of lack of apps! Totally agree with you that once developers come on board, this is going to be an even better device!
Armando, great review. Spot on. I visited the Surface last weekend and was blown away. The attention to detail & quality of Surface is absolutely ridiculous. Still, there's one thing I think you've overlooked in your review, and most reviewer missed this as well. It's the Multiple In Multiple Out WiFi Antennas. It really increases your accessibility to the network, and allows you to hold the device in any angle. This is key to an ultimate experience of surfing the web in comfort. Thanks.
You are the only reviewer I saw actually claim and PROVE that this tablet can be used on your lap. Other videos said it was impossible! Thanks a lot, you just made a sale for Microsoft. I really wish you got commission sometimes :(
Thank you, I'm glad that Microsoft is stepping up their game. Remember we need these types of products in order for these companies to innovate. People think I dislike Apple, but that is not the case. I dislike that they are on cruise control because they banked on their previous products so they can just sit there and not compete with the rest. So the Surface is a good thing and people should try it!

I've yet to see one in person at any computer shops over here in the UK. Completely sold on Windows 8 though and I will be definitely upgrading to it from Windows 7 on my laptop. I honestly don't see what people are complaining about. As you said in the review, "it just works great" Great video. Subscribed. :)
i tried both out at a shop yesterday. the touch cover feels just like a laptop, but with slightly nicer keys. you can touch type very easily and not make mistakes. the touch cover is ok, not as bad as i thought it would be. you do make a lot more typing mistakes when typing quickly. it's more knowing where the keys are than feeling where they are. i am going to get the touch cover personally. the touch also requires a solid touch to activate the key. soft touches don't register.

One of the best reviews of the surface that I have come across, other reviewers like the hater from Lockergnome just dis it without any grounds. I am waiting for the Pro version, so just review it as soon as you can, mate.
This is truly one of the best Surface reviews around, You are using it how, I feel at least, it's supposed to be used! As a real computer experience! Of course it's lacking some places, what product isn't? But I think it is a truly great product! Great job, keep it going!!!!

Looks great! Great review! Finally someone shows what it can do instead of the people who intentionally make it look so awful because its so different. They remind me of those infomercial demonstrations that make their competitor's product look so bad.
This is the BEST review I have seen of this product, better than the other "Big" reviewers like Pocketnow, technobuffalo and egadget. Awesome! I feel more towards buying the Surface now than the iPad or Nexus 10. Again, awesome review.
Great review. I been using mine since launch day and it's a great device. Always a pleasure to use. They just need to do a bit of optimization with the apps and OS.

Perhaps my review seemed that way but I really think this tablet is awesome! FWIW I sold my iPad 3 which I would have never done even for any Android tablet. The experience is top notch with the Surface and the build quality is premium. I can't wait to see the Nexus 10 to pit these 2 bad boys together I'll own both so in the end I win :D
Great video! There are so many awesome tablets out right now. So hard to choose. Also... a little off topic. What happened to the tasker videos man!? I'm sure a lot of people are really excited to learn more about tasker. I know I am!
Depends on what you're going to use the rt for. So if your going to use it for school work, class notes, browse the web, play movies and music, and play TABLET games: this means you can play ARM processor games (windows store) or unsigned games (xda). I say go with the rt not a laptop. You can retro game too (SNES). RT won't be able to play x86 games which are games downloaded anywhere else. It's way lighter and portable and has bout 8-9 hrs bat life. Hope this helps.
Very informative review Armando. Good job for pointing a lot of things that many reviewers overlook. However, i believe you're overselling it a little bit. I'm not convinced yet.
Armando, thanks a lot for this review. As an Android user (and addict :D), I must confess that the Surface seems to be really interresting. I'll certainly give it a try when it'll be available in France !
I've had mine for 2 months now. I have to say for work, school, content consumption it fits the bill. Took about 3mins to map the media directories to my 64gb ad card - so for 60.00 on amazon, storage is no longer a factor :-)
I used WP7 for a month back in March, and I really believe that Android should also have demo versions of apps that we can try. That's a great feature and much better than the 15 minute trial period.
Thanks for the review, seems like this is a more integrated system since MS controls everything. I tried a few DELL offerings in the from of all in ones. It worked great, but this seems to work more fluidly together. May have to check this out if i get the extra cash.
Love the review Armando, very well put together and I think the Surface is an awesome tablet. It almost makes me wanna try one LOL. I love Android but Microsoft really did a good job on this machine. Good to see them step up at this time with Google and Apple trying to run away with the tech game

Im on the surface right now. My sister and uncle have an ipad. I have to say I like this a lot more. Its web browsing is amazing, its os is fantastic, and its very well built. If you're thinking about getting an ipad I would strongly recommend this instead.

Unlike a LOT of reviewers out there I find your reviews to be unbiased towards a platform and really just be specific about the product itself. I am planning on buying the surface. Just a quick question. Can you plug a portable hard drive into the USB port and watch movies, listen to music from that? and what formats of video will the Surface play(from the connected HDD), e.g. mpg, avi, mp4?

Let me ask you, now that you've had some time with Windows 8 and Windows RT, do you have any desire to pair your shiny new Windows products with a Windows Phone? I'm really considering buying a Surface for myself this Christmas and by doing so I think it may sway me to try Windows Phone. Specifically the HTC 8X. Almost all the apps Google has, Microsoft has a competent alternative. What are your thoughts?
I already own one of these, my wife loves it. I'm already wondering about the next version. Next gen surface > Faster RT tablet, higher resolution, more apps, refined software/UI Can't wait.

You and mobile tech seem to be the only reviewers that understand this tablet.
