Great advice. I am from Canada and now live in the region of Huatulco in Southern Mexico. We have similar weather here. I try to go out early in the morning or at night also. Between 10a.m. and 5p.m. in the months of April, May and June, you are going to feel the burn, literally! 🥵🥵🥵
    Yes, A/C is a must!
My ONLY saving grace is that I live about a 10 minute walk to a beach.

I was just in Merida for 2 weeks in April and Omg I haven’t felt heat like that in a while. It was 103 Fahrenheit everyday. I felt l was stuck in a sauna for days haha I thought Playa del Carmen was hot but Merida as a different level. I shared my experience there in my vlogs.

Hi guys, new subscriber here! I can relate lol. My partner and I were in Merida in mid April for a couple weeks to explore the area and complete our temporary residency. We live in Arizona and are used to high temperatures, but Merida is definitely on a different level lol. We did things early in the morning then hung out until the sun went down to go out again. Thanks for the content!

My best bud here messaged me, hey, what you doing? Let's go out. I'm like ok. I get dressed to head out and sweat is pouring off of me. I'm thinking Why did I agree to go out. I wanted to change my mind but I felt like I could not renege on my friend. Never again. Early morning, before 11am of after 5pm. I will not be out Again at 12pm. Fugetaboutit!!! I'm a New Yorker after all.

I couldn’t take the heat and Mosquitoes. We moved to a much better climate in San Miguel de Allende

Merida was one of my choices but because of the humidity not the heat because I can deal with high temperatures it's the High humidity I can't deal with .Plus I prefer spring like weather Like they have in Ajijic and the lake Chapala area most of the year.San Miguel de Allende doesn't sound bad either or any mountain towns.

Buenos Tardes, Amigos. I was visiting the other side of the Yucatan Penninsula in Cancun (January 2024) and it was over 95 degrees the entire time I was there and that's a winter month. Coming from Colorado, that's way too hot for me. I admire ya'll honesty and I appreciate ya'll keeping it real.

If you find that you love Merida, other than those 2-3 months, maybe you could go travel during that time to cooler climates. Go visit friends/family back in Boston, take a little trip to cooler areas of Mexico, or even Central America (like mountain areas of Guatemala). That’s our plan (we live in AZ).

I taught in Abu Dhabi for 13 years, but after a while I got frustrated with being HOT most of the year. It was a major factor in my decision to leave. Heat everyday sucks the joy out of living.

I want to know about the critters. How bad is it? Thank you!

It’s not bad for us because we get our house fumigated every few months but it is a tropical area so it can get bad if not fumigated.

We're moving to Merida in July. We're aware that it's hot but even here in South Georgia and North Florida you don't want to be out during the heat of the day unless absolutely necessary.

It’s HOT but its really only 2 or 3 months that we have to deal with extreme heat
