      I'm very optimistic. The world is becoming more multipolar in general. We're going to see civilizational states instead of nation states. More representation compared to before, and more voices heard. China's rise has just begun and will last centuries (China has its cycles, you know) and this will be just another golden age of more to come. The youth of China are just incredible

      @@zen8704 Not to worry, their culture is more alive than in a long time these years. Their culture is encouraged and booming. Their currency on all paper money, language taught in schools and on buildings. Out in the streets they wear traditional outfits and don't at all look like the paid actors from the BBC with the depressed look and hijab. They're vibrant and optimistic. I'm far more worried about westerners than them

    Guizhou is a poverty stricken province in China. Due to its geographical location and landscape it provides little opportunities for the local people to develop. The government has been investing heavily in this region in education to alleviate the poverty. I appreciate you girls are willing to go to this region in stead of the first tier cities to help this kids.

      What you said is a thought that I had watching this great video also. Say what you want about the Chinese government, but how can you deny there are many things that they get right. And free schooling for all the kids. The exercising/dance sessions in the morning. Free lunches. Bringing in international teachers to meet the kids. This little visit to these schools probably left the kids with a LIFETIME of positive impressions of foreigners. Tell me : do you think ANY of the kids in the video will have a fear of black people going forward?

    Nice! The way there is a some efforts to say that Chinese are "racist" towards black people. And mostly from the US and Western world. This channel will go some ways to debunk that idea. Although this is the 1st channel that is done by a black person, as a teacher. I have had TH-cam push to me. I love IT.

      I’d say there are biased people in all countries, some because of ignorance, some because of internalized beliefs….. At least in China, the government works to promote mutual respect, inclusiveness, and cooperation.

      China has no history of systemic racism, slavery, conflict with other races, wars with other non Asian races etc. It's just not part of the social fabric or mentality in Asia. Asian are a meek, peaceful people and have been that way for tens of thousands of years. Don't be mislead by what Western media tells you, experience it first hand and you will see how well you will be treated there especially if you learn some basic Mandarin.

    Matter of genes: yes, but why genes developed that characteristics? Do you exactly why the skin is so rich in melanin? Because protect you by the producing too much vit D that it would be toxic for the body. So, in a certain way it's true that the sun is involved. Of course you are also right: it's included in your genetic structure. We can find the same brown skin colour in Polar popolation (Inuit) or Australia original people for the same reason: the dark skin protect them by the strong and long sun side effect (the producing of too much vit.D). That is what I studied in biology at the Univesity. All our characteristics were developed in centuries under the influence and pressure of the enviroment. Anyway the genetic differences beetwen every single human being are much higher than the genetic differences between who has a skin rich of melanin and who has no fixed melanin. So what? It's just One of the thounsands of characteristics we have as human being.

    Hey! Great video. I’m thinking about going to teach in English in China so this is great for me to see how it is 😁
    Also, one thought: isn’t dark skin an evolutionary adaptation to people living in areas with more sun? So technically dark skin is because of the sun and light skin is usually from evolution of people with little sun, right?

    • @pekh2438
      @pekh2438 2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Dark skin is not an evolutionary adaptation for living close to the sun. There are light skinned Arabs and Fulanis native to very hot tropical areas. There is a variety of skin types/ color just like hair color and eye color. All of these are encoded in the genes.

      Just wanted to update my comment after a few responses: I don’t know where I stand completely on evolution, but it seems to state that skin color (light or dark) is an evolutionary adaption to help with different climates. It makes sense IMO, but I’m not 100% sure. Anyway, all skin is BEAUTIFUL- doesn’t matter if you are red, yellow, brown, black, white, etc. We are all brothers and sisters of the human race.

    Actually, the kids are right about the sun part. Genetically, people in Southern Africa as well as South Asia have evolved for darker skin primarily for sun protection again harmful UV rays. That’s why in hotter areas the people’s skin tend to be darker than people from colder regions. That’s why in Russia, people mostly have super pale skin. If you go to northern China, their skin tone is significantly paler than people from southern China.

    • @chx4eva
      @chx4eva 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      That argument has been debunked by science. A black person born in Europe will not turn white. Skin color is determined by the expression of the gene that controls melanin which we all have.

    • @chx4eva
      @chx4eva 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Also, South America is as hot as Africa but the natives who lived there for thousands of years are not black. So is India, Thailand, the Philippines

    • @Weeping-Angel
      @Weeping-Angel 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      @@chx4eva that has to do with historic migration of people from lighter skin to places where people have darker skin. There was a lot of colonizing and invading from countries in Europe and other northern regions.

    • @jennyk629
      @jennyk629 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      And people towards the poles never see direct sun light, so the lighter skin allows them absorb essential vitamins from the sun.

    • @blasianking4827
      @blasianking4827 2 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      Yeah but I think for the kids, the implication is more so that it's the sun that directly makes people Black. That's not the case, 'cause as she said she'd be black even if she was born somewhere else.
      It's true that darker skin evolved 'cause of different climates but that's definitely not what the kids are referring to.
