@boomer1991 he's too good - not sure they can afford to redshift him. Maybe, he does need some skills improvement with blocking, etc....but dang he's a dangerous man when he's got the ball
@plainsroamer405 he's also the dude who missed his block causing Arnold to throw the pick. . . Dude still has a lot to learn. But great potential. No one will use a RB who can't pick up a blocker though.
Seriously look out for Tatum and our team is good we just have great defense, so Oklahoma fans are use to dropping 70 but we’ll be good Arnold is still getting his footing
People keep focusing on Tennessee's offense. I guess out of Heupel habit. What makes this year's team so interesting is that the D-line is elite. Iamaleava is good and will get better, but he's still a redshirt freshman lacking hostile stadium experience. There's a solid chance he'll be so-so on the road in Norman, and yet Tennessee stills wins by a lot because their D-line runs roughshod all over the Sooners O-line. Even moreso than in the pros, college football is won in the trenches.
The offensive line is obviously a major problem with our offense, Arnold is not being given enough time to throw and there is now run blocking to speak of.
The VOLS defensive line does not look like Tulane's. And the VOLS WR's don't do random they don't make mistakes. OU is going to have it's hands full on Saturday. GBO!
TN rotates 12 D-lineman so there is no huge drop off and will wear out a mediocre offensive line. And alot of gang tackles, plus not alot of missed tackles at line of scrimmage. TN has alot of speed with receivers - you have a bust in coverage they will out run you. Use tightends alot with 10-20 yards routes-block mutiple times and get lost in coverage by most defenses with pop passes. Something not working they find something else to beat you with. Minus one all recievers are 6’3” or above and will take high point balls all day long. Speed of offense is whats kills teams with not set or bad communication to line up correctly. Will be interesting but i will take the spread of 7 but most likely a 14+ game. Say what you want but NCST wasn’t horrible we wore them out on defense. JA is legit and almost identical play of Nico but he is very good at juking people running and passing on the run!
Imagine Tatum at like 215-225 lol he’s gonna be a beast his soph and jr year. His pass protection looked better against Tulane. I don’t think it’s a size or bulldog thing more just lack of experience. Desperately need Hickman at 100%. 3rd string center is no bueno.
Lowkey as a Oklahoma fan watching film after makes it way better first td was insane that was lucky we locked up 3 quarters but we gotta change it up second half but Arnold got wheels
I'm from OKC, go to games. This Sooners team is not good. Good on my fellow OU fans for being honest about it. I'm starting to question if Venables is really the guy or not.
THE worst OU offense in many years. So tired of OUr coaches making comments like, “we did better this week (against HS talent compared to the SEC), but still have some things to work on?” Quit sugar coating it? We have everything to work on in terms of offense. Nobody cares if we’re starting the game with our 3rd string center and a couple of true freshman who are showing better than the portal “pros with many snaps. Part of me feels bad for Jackson Arnold and I thought we really had something with him. If we go 6-6 I’ll be surprised unless this coaching staff figures out some way to get a a flash of a run game. Could be a beat down in Norman against Tenn.
I feel like I don't know anything more than I did before the season started. I think Arnold has the tools we just have to give him a chance with experience and see . It may not be a great year this year all this experience will help the entire team
I hope it’s a great game. I’m just not too sure it will be. Tennessee can cycle lots of players without leaving gaps. OU can not. Injuries are a reality but can not be rested upon. These underclass men sure have a big chance at changing the conversation in their favor if they can manage to keep the game close. Not expecting OU to win. It will be great if they can keep it within 7 points. We will see what we’re paying for.
Tatum is the guy and it should be obvious to coaches. He blows assignments in protection and gets lost at times, but he's clearly the best running back on the team. Barnes and sawchuck are a waste of scholarships. They just don't belong in a Sooner jersey. Maybe a tulane jersey? They couldn't make me miss them. Barnes does have some power to him, but they are really average backs. Arnold is getting better and better, imo. He runs better than people are giving him credit for. He threw a bad pick, but he made up for imo. He's tough as well. He can take the hits. He has to with that line of ours.
Tulane dude that ran out of bounds was running in a northwesterly direction. Completely opposite of the way to Lafayette. He was pretty much headed towards say.... Hutchinson, Kansas.
#8 Taylor Tatum is the best back we have, but he's still making a lot of mental mistakes in pass protection. I think you'll see him catching a lot of balls. They also seem to like him in red zone play.
@@GoodTV285Lol @ LSU, Miz, & Ole Miss. LSU got the W thanks to the zebras, Miz wins by 6…6!… to BC 😂. Ole Miss hasn’t played anybody with a pulse & still was only 23-6 going into halftime vs. WF 😅. UT, Tx., & Bama are the only potential losses I see so far.
@@HeadlessAce You may be right Texas spanked my team Michigan I know Michigan offense is bad but the defense is good still, I was at the game and man let me say Texas roster is big and fast and deep they definitely pass the eye test, them dudes are huge and they played with a swagger
Everyone in Soonerville needs to go buy up toilet paper, water with other necessities, get some plywood and board everything up cause there's a storm coming next Saturday and its going to get ugly... 45-10 tenn for the win
Sure hope I am wrong but I don't believe that Oklahoma can do any better than 6 and 6 and that's being optimistic. Both sides of the football has issues. At times this team doesn't know weather to shit or go blind.
#8 Taylor Tatum. Learn that name. True freshman. #1 RB coming out of HS last year. He's also a baseball star.
I wonder if they are holding off burning Tatum's redshirt until the texas game.
@boomer1991 he's too good - not sure they can afford to redshift him. Maybe, he does need some skills improvement with blocking, etc....but dang he's a dangerous man when he's got the ball

Due to the patchwork OLine the OC needs to embrace the running QB. Hell he is going to be running for his life anyway.
That’s much is for sure and for certain.
Number 8 is the best running back on the team. Taylor Tatum is him
Oh really? Because last I checked Arnold is our #1 rusher and #1 passer. . .
Agreed, from what I saw at the game Tatum should be starting and getting the majority of the touches.
@@PatriotParty 6.8 yard per carry vs 4.7 says something different
@lamppole JA has the most rushes over double what Tatum has. And with 4.4yrds a rush is damn good with over 35rushes.
Tatum IS the best RUNNING BACK on the team. Arnold is a QUARTERBACK. There's a difference.
Seriously look out for Tatum and our team is good we just have great defense, so Oklahoma fans are use to dropping 70 but we’ll be good Arnold is still getting his footing

Georgia,Texas,Miami,Ole Miss an Tennessee are the top 5 teams in the country at least in my books,
The offensive line is obviously a major problem with our offense, Arnold is not being given enough time to throw and there is now run blocking to speak of.
I’m convinced, if we have a good running back, Demarco won’t play them enough to keep them..
They improved this week - good stuff from OU. Next, week, probably one of the best teams in the nation, TN

Who's #8? He's nobody important... Just the #1 RB recruit
Vols by fiddy!!!! GBO
On that Pick 6, RB released instead of picking up that blitz.
Arnold panicked, school song.
Appreciate the video breakdown.

Freshman Taylor Tatum number one running back in high school coming into college
He didn’t get in , parts of his body are on the ground before the ball went over the goal !
Tatum didn't get on campus till mid or late June
He’s listed at 206 too lol. I’m excited to see him develop!
I thought the announcers said those were AAC refs...gonna have to go back and rewatch now
grabbed his jersey and pulled him, it's PI.
8 is Taylor Tatum the number 1 ranked freshman our the 2024 class

The Ou offense can’t score enough to compete with Sec competition
Injuries on offense have been devastating. Especially with a young qb.
Unless something bad happens
Yes 8 Taylor Tatum is who should have the start and the best OU back. True freshman. #1 RB last year in recruit rankings
Taylor Tatum was the 2024 #1 RB out of HS. Actually all of OUs RBs were very highly recruited
I know this man did just not say giving a nod to Tennessee the wide splits came from us in the first place
Don't care where it came from, who excels in it?
Tatum is a true freshman! He’s awesome!!! Boomer Sooner
OU fan here. Curious to see how good this defense is against a so far so damn good Tennessee offense
JA did alright. Pick 6 shoulda been a first down. Shake off the first guy and tuck it. Either that or throw it at the WR feet for no loss of yd
Wut?

Bottom 5 in the SEC? How many SEC starting QBs are there?
As a drop dead OU fan (season ticket holder from 2003-2018). We are cooked this season for sure. Im guessing 6 or 7 wins at most.
