Tbh, this song has made me rethink how I thought about everything these past months, I left all of my friends because I thought that would be the escape is to leave the life I thought I was trapped in but instead my friends were the ones who were the key to my escape, but leaving them is like throwing the key away to a locked cell and being trapped with your guilt. I started fights with them just so that I had no way to comeback to stop myself from going back because its what I thought I wanted but it was the opposite and even if I tried to heal it, its already crumbling from the damage I have done and there is no supporting it to keep it from falling.
Sorry for the rambling but I just needed to destress.

Deactivated my Facebook back in 2015 along with every other social media except TH-cam. Happiness was almost instantaneous... That thing was killing my soul and sometimes defining how my mood would be some days too. Best decision!

If they didn't upload the lyrics, it would basically defeat their purpose to get the message to the sheeple. There are some who wont hear it unless it's read. Sinks it into the subconscious a bit better and you can actually take the message for its intention. Disturbed is the shit!

I'm 37. I was born in 1985. This song hits deep. I remember when we did actually lived instead of watching life and there was no internet or "online". Life was beautiful before social media. We had real human connections that were valuable because our entire world consisted of the town we lived in. Everyone talked to each other all the time. We treated friends and loved ones because we didn't have the option to replace them with fake strangers online. Social media is a disease. I used to have so many friends. All the kids would gather in the same spots around the same time each day. If we missed each other then we just walked around or rode our bikes. We used to play massive games of his and seek that spanned the whole neighborhood. Few yards had fences so we could run in between houses. Everyone knew each other. We got exercise. None of us were fat.

My 24 year old son refuses to have a Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat or any of that stuff. But he's a genius with computers and using technology.
My peers would still be bugging me about us being able to stay in contact and be able to contact each other outside of school. I maybe post something every month or couple months just to appease people. I really enjoy this song because old timers I've talked to talked to me about the older days. I wish sometimes I could time travel.

My thoughts are very much the same. (I even jumped on the *band*-wagon (ar ar) with Ten Thousand Fists, too.) I thoroughly enjoy their old works as much as their newer ones, but indeed, they get better and better over time, and as you said, age like a fine wine. (...While other artists age like milk...)

in this whole album i hear a lot more than just what he is singing. has anyone else noticed that all these revolution type songs and albums never tell you the whole truth? they never say directly what your fighting against and what future you should be fighting for. all too general for me. one day they will come right out and say who the real 'man behind the curtian' is which is a day i see coming fast!

As a hardcore disturbed for 10+ years....This album as a whole IS TRAAAASSHHHH. This is one of the few amazing songs on this album...THEY CAN DO BETTER. This album is called EVOLUTION.....THEY NEED TO DEVOLVE.
It truly is their weakest album minus this song, The Best Ones Lie, and Are You Ready. It’s almost as if they were told beforehand by producers before making this album to fill it with ballads....they are definitely trying to milk that Sound of Silence Success.
With the exception of this song, it's all an extension of his remake of sound of silence. Deviating from disturbed's hardcore roots. They stopped dropping plates on our ass's a while ago now >:(

Love this almost as much as "The Best Ones Lie". This one is a bit like "Disillusioned" by A Perfect Circle. Also a great companion song to your "Sound of Silence" cover.

I've never been disappointed with Disturbed. This album is a refreshing sound and style.
Even though they sound with softer riffs, the complexity of lyrics and the amazing Draiman 's voice, becomes a very enjoyable experience of making and feeling music.

This is a great song. It speaks of the control of technology on our lives and makes us slaves to our phones,TV s, etc. We need to get out a bit more and start exploring where we live. Adventure around and get to know what's around. There's more than what meets the eye.

Evolution is their best album by far IMO. They have definitely evolved as a band, while still retaining their signature sound on many songs like this one, while also exploring new territory.

I just love the bass in this. It's barely noticable, but once you tune your ears to it it's so nice. Make me wish there was an instrumental for this track.
