Great to hear from you all the way in the sunny States Dylan!! Hope you're having a blast playing Slide Away, I would really be up for doing Listen Up it's got to be one of their most underrated tracks! All the best from the UK Dylan cheers!

23:34 third phrase
25:48 full solo
Mate you've just completely de-mystified an intro that I've been obsessed with since 1994! Where was your lesson 26 years ago?!? 🤦🏻♂️ Gonna cover this in my new band now 😎
By the way is that a 2019 60's Original Les Paul?? That's my guitar as well 🙌🏻
@@adamlitchfield3371 Hi Adam great to hear from you!! Haha it's a real strange one that introduction, I found a version someone had posted of the song where they had altered the guitars to be in tune! It's more or less impossible to work out from the original because all the notes sound wrong haha! But I'm really glad I managed to help you put that one to bed I hope it goes down a storm at your next gig, and yes it is! Honestly I love playing it, it sounds great and the slightly thinner 60s neck is so playable! Which finish did you get on yours?
@@AnthonyFernsGuitarTutorials So is your version a quarter step up then? I think the original was played in standard but then speeded up in the mix so it sounds quarter step up (?)...so the internet tells me anyway. I went for the bourbon burst, it actually looks nothing like the marketing photos that Gibson put out but I love it anyway, proper Wayne's World moment every time I open the case 😍
@@adamlitchfield3371 how did it go mate?
This is exactly what I would have written had it not been said here! Totally on the same page with this one.
Thanks for a real tutorial - not about showing off 👍
You need a lot more subs you're tutorials are extremely clear and consistent
Haha it's okay I'll keep going and see what happens!
I've got a lot of respect for many other online tutorials, but this is the most clear and straight forward I think I've seen.
5 star 🌟 for sure.
Dam man, tried for years to get that intro, you’ve made it look easy. Top class tuition. Thanks!!!
Love the name haha! What a tune Headshrinker is, love the solo in that one, full of energy! But haha well I'm glad I could help you get that one nailed for good, It's a wicked intro but the track itself is out of tune so no wonder you had such a hard time trying to figure it out all the notes sound wrong even when they're right! Happy playing mate have a great weekend!
The only Slide Away tutorial that made me understand it.
Dude... you’re rhythm playing is BEAUTIFUL.
No tutorial I've watched has explained how to do the intro as well as you did! Thank you very much, Finally I made some progress.
great lesson. thank you
Great work.👍🎸✌️
Any tips for getting a tone like this??? This sounds amazing
Oh man you really nailed that tutorial I think the
lead guitar parts were spot on and you’ve
elevated my guitar playing and you’re a spot on
Teacher.
Thank you Kevin that's really kind of you to say! Always love hearing that these lessons are working for people like yourself, hopefully you can take that and perform it to the world haha! I've got a new Stone Roses lesson coming to the channel next week it might be right up your street!
Thank you so much, from France .
Fantastic stuff. Thank you for your work!
This man deserves more subscribers... always my go to for learning Oasis songs👍🏽
Definetly the best tutorial of slide away, thanks for the help!!!
Hey Pedro thanks so much for your kind words I'm so happy you enjoyed it!! Welcome to the page mate I'll try and get the latest and greatest lessons to you! If there's something particular you want me to work on head over to my Patreon and see what I've got to offer! :) www.patreon.com/antsguitartutorials?fan_landing=true
That tone is spot on👍
Old school greatness. Cheers for the lesson.
So so grateful for this amazing tutorial Ant. I have finally nailed the whole song 🙏😁
Mark this is fantastic well done mate! Hope you get to blow everyone away at a gig with this one!
Not far off 10k subs dude!! Love the vids.......even tackled I am the resurrection during lockdown 🤟
Hey! Haha it's been long long road to get there, I actually set a goal for myself at the start of the year to get to 10K subs, and IF I got there I might get a bit more serious about trying to make this channel into a more full time thing, so as I write this I'm trying to work out how to do that haha! Anyway thanks so much for commenting and being part of this little community, hope you get to go out and play this one to a crowd and take the roof off!
Perfect lesson of one of my favorite topics, thanks for uploading it.
Amazing ! It is surely the best tutorial of the internet.
Just came across this. You are a really great teacher man. So clear and thorough. Subscribed
Another great tutorial thanks so much, had a lot of fun with this this morning! This was one of the first things I learned to play after getting a guitar as a teenager almost twenty five years ago, but this has helped me correct a couple of bits I was getting wrong, and also learn the solo for the first time.
Paul great to hear from you !! That's amazing I'm over the moon I could be of service and lend a hand fine tuning it a little all these years on, good job on taking on the solo as well its got a real nice tune to it hasn't it?! Its awesome to hear that after all these years the track still resonates with you, I bet you've got some great memories around the 90s I'm very jealous haha I was only born in 1994!
There’s a hammer on from 5 to 7 on the G string at the beginning of the song as well
Yeah definitely!
Unbelievable song even better tutorial, been watching your tutorials for nearly a year but only just got my first proper electric and i can’t believe how much all your tutorials are helping me progress! Really appreciate the hard work you put into these pal and congrats on 10k 🥳
Welcome back Callum! Thanks so much for sticking around for this past year, I know it's taken me a long while to get to Slide Away but never the less here we are haha! Great to hear you're starting on the electric now, I too started on acoustic and moved over, I think it really helps build your finger strength up! Thank you for the congrats hopefully it doesn't take me as long to get to 20k haha!
Sick video mate, love your channel. Great tutorial as always
Thanks for this one Ant! Been looking for a decent tutorial for so long. Now something to work on next night thanks! Keep it up!
Hey Cedric good to hear from you! I'm really happy I've finally helped you nail Slide Away it's honestly really rewarding to hear! Definitely one of their most iconic, hope you get the chance to go out and play this one to a crowd and blow the roof off!
Thanks so much Ant for answering our request! You are the best my man
I'm sorry it's taken me soo incredibly long to get round to it haha! So thank you for sticking around and waiting for me to do it! Really happy to help you nail Slide Away though it's such a great sounding record, time for a beer to celebrate I think!
@@AnthonyFernsGuitarTutorials haha yes indeed, cheers from illinois. Also have you heard the track: fall back down from rancid? Great tune that could be a pretty quick tutorial. No lessons on the tube that i can see.
Brilliant Ant. This one's been a long time coming but well worth the wait. Thank you for all your hard work.
Hi Steve, hope you've been enjoying the sunny weather this week, I had a good one this weekend! I want to say I've been asked about this lesson for probably 2 years at least by this point haha! I'd been waiting to find a good backing track for it but I decided to hell with it and just make it anyway haha, there always seems to be such a good feeling from everyone when I throw out an Oasis lesson, blows me away seeing what the band means to everyone!
@@AnthonyFernsGuitarTutorials Yes Ant, been loving the sunny weather and at last being able to meet up with friends. Glad you are too. What we need now is for Liam and Noel to stop bickering and reform Oasis for a triumphant return at Knebworth in 2021. Take care mate.
Brilliant mate, very useful lesson. Earned u a sub
Great lesson thanks. Please do a tutorial for fade away . Love that tune. After following your lessons I’m finally getting able to do them justice . You make it look so easy 🤯 getting there .... slowly
Amazing work, subbed, as a beginner I always thought oasis would have been easier to play. This is one of my favourite songs ever and now I see why. If I ever master this I will be more than satisfied that I'm no longer a beginner 😊. Hats off to you sir !
Nice song. And your Les Paul sounds really great.
Thanks for uploading these videos wish you all the success
Hey Ben! Thanks soo much for that it’s always really encouraging and humbling to hear, love slide away it’s such a classic, I don’t what your feeling are on Be Here Now but I’ve just published a video on Stand By Me today you might like it! All the best, Ant
@@AnthonyFernsGuitarTutorials I love oasis and only recently picked up an electric guitar so just trying to learn some solos but your videos are perfectly explained. Thanks man I’ll try the stand by me one as well the more the better and I see what you mean with Noel Gallaghers style
@@bennevis6843 Oh nice! Well if you ever need any advise on anything guitar-wise feel free to shoot me a message or comment I always enjoy hearing how people are getting on! Thanks for all the support, see you on the next one!
@@AnthonyFernsGuitarTutorials thanks man, appreciate the hard work
I love Ants tutorials. I did miss the bit where you play it to a backing track after youve shown us the tutorial a little but great job as usual.
Hi Steve! I avoided the track for a while because I couldn't find a backing track for it, and I just thought to hell with it I'll just go for it anyway haha!
@@AnthonyFernsGuitarTutorials oh thats why then. Really good lesson ant. I've already got most of it down apart from your great tone! Keep em coming. I think yours are the best taught on youtube. Always look forward to them.
@@steventhomas231 Cheers Steven, I'll always try to throw in a backing track and play along if I can it helps blend it all together I think! But anyway thanks so much for the comment means a lot knowing that I've helped you finally nail the track for good! You'll have to go out and repay me by playing it at a gig and blowing everyone away haha!
@@AnthonyFernsGuitarTutorials I wish I was that good! But I will be posting to my friends once I've nailed it down fully.
Hi Ant, would you please do a lesson on Stay Young at some point? One of my favourite Oasis tunes. Cheers Lee
Great tutorial Ant. Thanks.
Cheers mate! Happy to help you nail this one, hope you get the chance to perform it!
Great song love your tutorials
Thank you so much! I leaned every other song on the album. But this one!! Purely because my music book back in the 90s was as hard to follow!))-
Been waiting for this one 👏🏼
Love it Paul, hope you're blaring it out as loudly as you can!
Ant's Guitar Tutorials sadly I’m not! Amp is still away (by order of the Mrs!) - only just snuck the guitar back out so don’t want to push it! Playing the long game 😂
Nice one Ant, been waiting for this one 👏
Thanks so much mate really glad this is filling your need for some great Oasis! Hope you get a chance to play this one at a gig!
Finally, I came here after "don't go away". I'm going to try this song! I'm still playing the guitar!🎸
This is great, one of my favourite Oasis tracks.
Is there any chance of a lesson on the Mustique version of Don’t Go Away? Just the lead lines, Noel’s intro and solo, as they differ from the album version.
thanks for teaching probasbly one of the most sentimental songs in my life ever. Whenever I´m flying back in the UK, this song is played on my Mp3 player as I land. I´ve been doing the same thing for 25 years. I really don´t know what makes it such a great song.
Great in-depth tutorial of course. Learn the basics of it and improvise it and take it to wherever you like. Not surprised it´s Paul McCartney´s fave from that album. However, for me it´s Married With Children. Didn´t like Oasis until I heard that song and eventually, the rest grew on me.
Class man!
great as per usual, what other tutorials can we expect soon?
Wouldn’t mind seeing you do listen up mate there’s no tutorials for the electric version on you tube
M8 a live forever guitar lesson would be amazing 🤩.
I knew I could count on you 😊 nice one mate
Loving it Simon! Happy playing mate!
Please tell us about the amps and pedals you use to get this tone
Hi mate! Yeah so sounds wise I was using a DOD Through The Looking Glass overdrive, it's got a great clean overdrive sound to it so you can hear all the notes, other than that keeps the bass middle treble fairly even and you're golden!
Another great lesson to grind away at during lockdown. Also ordered the dod looking glass after hearing it on your videos. Got a blues driver bd2 and a keeley ddr. Looking for another flavour of overdrive on the pedalboard
Hi Colin great to hear from you! Glad you're working through this one it's a real belter, got to be one of their best. Oh did you get yourself one of those DOD pedals that's interesting (I should ask them for commission haha). Great to hear though it wont disappoint it's got a real clarity to it, you can add a nice amount of treble or bass to compensate for whichever guitar you use, and I love that you can really hear each note you play no matter how high or low the setting, I'm a big fan!
Ant's Guitar Tutorials sent something to your paypal. Get a takeaway and some beers on me. You’ve done a lot lessons on songs i really enjoy, all the best and take care!
Appreciate the tutorial mate!
Cheers David happy playing mate!
Cheers Ant. Almost finished Reptilia. It'll be nice to revisit this next. Good luck getting to 10k subscribers - hope it happens.
John, sounds like you're in the thick of it, there's some really challenging parts in that Strokes track love to hear how you get on with it! Haha cheers mate appreciate it, i've taken my sweet time but it looks like I might finally be getting somewhere with this channel, all the best mate have a beer for me!
@@AnthonyFernsGuitarTutorials yeah I'm working on the fast bits of the solo - which are a bit tricky. Genuinely hope the channel grows as it will benefit us all.
Nice video Ant, Oasis were the band that got me into music, i was lucky enough to see them 7 times. Can i ask what type of reverb you're using on here as it sounds pretty spot on? Thanks mate, i've subbed.
Hi Mark great to hear from you! Wow that's incredible do you have a particular favourite? And yeah sure! So strangely enough the reverb isn't coming from any pedal it's just the reverb from my Blackstar HT-Stage 60 amp! I've never been a connoisseur of reverb I tend to just add a bit and not worry about it haha!
Great video mate, what amp settings have you got I think you’ve nailed the tone👍
Hey Tom! Hope you're having a cracking weekend mate, cheers for the comment so let me break down the tone, really it comes from the pedal I use, I now use a DOD Through The Looking Glass Overdrive it's a really clean sounding overdrive so you can hear all the individual notes, then on top of that I use a Xotic Super Sweet boost which is used really subtly it's barely dialled in but it just makes the mids cut through. As far as EQ is concerned I actually had the Bass/Middle/Treble all set to 12!
Ant's Guitar Tutorials cheers mate much appreciated
Wow i love oasis! Thank you :)
We do us some Oasis on this channel haha! Happy playing mate!
Great lesson, thanks so much. In future, could you give us a quick demo at the beginning to see what the song will sound like? Thanks again
Nice one Ant. Is there any chance u could do Columbia or even listen up it that possible ?
Hey Antony! Great to hear from you! I would love to do both of those in the future, great shout on Listen Up I adore that track! Anyway hope you enjoy the lesson mate its a wicked one for your own gigs haha!
I vote listen up next! Rockin here from texas. Love the oasis
Agree on listen up awesome underrated track
Thank you so much
Hi mate, great lesson! Would be great if you could upload the lead outro stuff, even as a separate lesson. Best wishes
Yes! Thanks Ant. Legend.
Hey Luke great to see you on here again! Happy playing my man hope you get to gig this one and blow the roof off haha!
@@AnthonyFernsGuitarTutorials That's the dream. I'm a long way from that but would love to play in a band one day!
Any chance of all around the world some time? Videos are class man
Great song!! I have to admit that I did have a slight feeling that it would be this song
Love the videos man, would love to see a mersey paradise tutorial from the Stone Roses, you would have the only one!!
Haha thanks so much mate! Yeah I'm a bit overdue another Stone Roses lesson, I was considering taking on Love Spreads at one point haha! As of today I've given over control of the channel to my Patrons, they cast their vote on what I make now, so if that's something you're interested in please go check it out!
THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Question... Just checking, what colour is that Les Paul - Honey Burst? It's beautiful.
Hi Gareth -thanks for the comment. This Les Paul was a product of the company's restructure a few years ago, its a 2019 standard 60s spec (prefer the thinner neck) in something called 'Unburst'. Not sure who came up with the name but there you go!
Hey thank you for the video, you've thaught me a lot since i started playing guitar. What about a tutorial on stand by me by oasis?
Diego hello! Thanks so much mate I'm really happy I've helped you on your guitar journey, I would love to take a crack at Stand By Me, I've actually as of today let my Patrons take control of what videos I make, they're voting on what I make so if that's something you'd be interested in please go check it out!
I watch a few teachers and it has to be said if I was taking face to face lessons I want a teacher like yourself you seem a nice calm guy also some bluetones lessons would be quality especially nae hair on’t
solo starts at 19mins
Could you do go let it out for electric guitar?
Dude I love your videos, could you teach us the song I’m outta time?
quality mate
Cheers mate time for a beer to celebrate I think!
Awesome dude do you have a tutorial on" do ya know what a mean"
johnnyspuggy D’You*
Hey gang hope you're rocking out to Slide Away! If you loved the video and the detail I bring to my lessons head over to my Patreon and check out what I've got to offer! I could be working on the song lesson you want me to make! www.patreon.com/antsguitartutorials?fan_landing=true
Great stuff always nice to visit early Oasis rather than the later Beatles tribute crap they ended up doing.
Please do this is the one by stone roses
Ant, Stand by me from be here now would be another great addition to the catalog! Are you a fan of the song as be here now has very mixed feelings lol?
Hey Rich, great to hear from you mate sorry it's taken so long to reply haha! I actually really like Be Here Now, I know it's very hit and miss for a lot of people but I love the cocaine fuelled nonsense of Magic Pie and my big mouth haha! I would love to check out Stand By Me, as of today I've given over control of the channel to my Patrons on my new patreon page, I'm charging roughly the price of a pint (£3.50) a month to let you guys decide what videos I make, along with some future exclusive content!
Hey mate, really like your lessons. Thank you so much for your job, and for Don't go away lesson. I think you first who make tutorial on this song. Your chanel like Don't go away by Oasis, really underrated. And, if you want, maybe some stand by me tutorial? Hard to find lesson, with all parts, like on your chanel.
Would be good but all the guitar parts in this song weren’t shown here.
Thanks so much for the comment mate it's really nice knowing I've helped a few of us hear nail the track especially the intro haha, and great to hear you've been going through Don't Go Away! I'm sure I'll work my way to Stand By Me soon enough you can bank on it haha! Thanks for the comment though take care mate!
Bruh, you got some crazy long guitar fingers!

Hello mate I was just wondering if you would do
I can't sleep by the la's :)
Hey Daniel hope you're having a wicked weekend mate, I had such a blast putting together that lesson for There She Goes I'm sure I could fit in some more La's material!
Ant's Guitar Tutorials would love that mate been watching your channel for ages and has helped me loads I appreciate everything you do
Are you able to confirm the exact tuning? It's slightly sharp on the album, but I can't quite get by how many cents.
hello ant can you do do you know what I mean I can play the bare bones guitar for it but there are a lot of subtle nuances and harmonics I cant figure out no matter what I do maybe you can though
Hi Ant. I have a line 6 spider amp. What kind of sound am I looking for to play this and morning glory please if you know what I mean lol. Cheers.
did you ever figure it out? i’ve got a line 6 (v 20) as well and it feels like i’m bending over backwards trying to get the sound right
Do you have a website or course collection I can buy?
Hi Ant
Just read your biog.. I got married on the isle of wight, so special memories
I was going to "buy you a pint" but I am seriously thinking of the patreon thing, from here in Australia!
Do you play in a band too?
I was hoping this was going to be your next video Ant! Just tried to access the paypal link to give a little support but couldnt do it, is it me being stupid?
Hey Ruth great to hear from you! Hope you're doing well and enjoying the sunshine this weekend?! No worries Ruth don't feel like you have to send me anything seeing you on here is more than enough haha! But if you're dead set on it I think if you copy the hyperlink and paste it into the URL section at the top of the web page it should send you in the right direction! Anyway that aside hope you enjoy going through the guitar for this one, it's got to be one of their very best I love playing the introduction on either electric or acoustic it sounds brilliant! Hope you get to play it to a crowd and blow the roof off!
❤️❤️
Hacksmith is teaching us guitar
Tunning ? Its only in standard?
Biblical mate, one of my favourite tunes ever. Can't wait to annoy the neighbourhood with this one. Hope alls well on your end.
Ahh awesome mate I'm really happy I could bring that to you haha! All good on my end enjoying the sun and a well earned beer cheers! Hope you're all well mate and hope you're enjoying the weekend have one for me
Ant order is restored now you’re playing early oasis on a Les Paul Standard. It just looks and sound right !
Haha cheers Davo! It feels good with the Les Paul! I'm gonna have to go through my older stuff now and re do them all haha! Have a great weekend mate!
Ant's Guitar Tutorials If so, how about NG’s version of Don’t Look Back In Anger with the Gem Archer solo?
Could you do more songs off be here now please that would he great
Hey Dylan great to hear from you, I know Be Here Now is a bit controversial but I actually really like it haha, despite how much cocaine was taken I still rate Magic Pie!
Ant's Guitar Tutorials same i really dont understand the hate for the album but ive always wanted to learn songs off it like fade in out and its gettin better man!
Does anyone know what key this is in?
My today fell in from the top... I wonder where you are now
This song is fucking great...
It's an absolute banger!
What tune is this?? Cause when i play with the track doesnt sound good
Its slightly tuned up, around 453 Hz E standard
