Wickedly fast IBM Personal (Selectric) Typewriter - Professionally serviced by Abel Office Machines in Fort Worth - Local pickup only - $300 - Direct sale or eBay at www.ebay.com/itm/334058283317
I got a Personal Typewriter Selectric from a family member a while back. I figured out how to get the body panels off well enough, and I took one look at those internals and went "nope!" off to CA Typewriter it went. It takes a special kind of person to work on those tapestries of linkages. Wonderful machines at the end though.
I used an electronic typewriter in mid 1990's they were faster had daisy wheel and were quieter. I think Olivetti ET 2500 was one of them or a another similar model number. Silver Reed is another brand we used as well. My best was 70 wpm in UK that is a very high speed. I wish I owned one of the Olivetti's as the carriage kept up with how fast you typed they were brilliant very large as they were office sized. I have a Brother AX100 too slow I think they still make them.
YO PAL! I would KILL for IBM Selectric Paper. You familiar with it? It has a white, glossy surface with a kinda-chalky consistency and a pale blue. backing. Lemme know. Thanks

I picked up some machines from a fellow recently. He had an IBM daisy wheel but I passed because I’m running out of space for large machines.
Nice!
Thanks!
Nice machine. If I were local…
I think it’s going to its forever home tomorrow evening. I wish I had unlimited room to keep them all.
