You are heavily underestimating them. Tanjiro is literally the only one in their generation capable of the strongest breathing, whereas Muichiro is literally the descendant of the bloodline of the most insanely powerful demon slayers to ever exist. To be at full potential that must mean they would not be teenagers (16 year old and 14 year old) and be at their twenties, at their prime, and nearly as strong as Yoriichi and Michikatsu, if not as strong as them. So it does not make sense how they would have any difficulty beating any hashira of their generation, or any uppermoon below two.
