    Thanks for breaking this down. I was just researching the difference. I'm more into the small intricate designs and details, versus being responsible for calling the vendors and setting everything up. I tip my hat to coordinators and planners. Together it all makes a great team!

    Love the comparison of these different job descriptions. I did not know all this. I will definitely get a planner when I have an event of any kind. I do not like to plan things myself. I rather put that level of work to someone else.

    Event coordinator is the way to go because I am a leader! I am able to get the job done! I am good at allocating tasks and people to get them done. I like the day of planning instead of month long planning.

      Being an event planner, coordinator and or designer each has it’s own form of leadership responsibilities to get the job done. This is to educate what the difference is in each title and the role of each so clients do not have expectation of things they did not hire you for, and for the event professional not to do more than what they are hired to do without being compensated. What do you mean by you like day of planning v month long planning?

    I was an event coordinator here in the Philippines way back 2018-2020, and even I have a different job, my heart is still in this career (coordinating an event). So im stepping out of my comfort zone, I’m interested in pursuing this career.

    Wonderful, I enjoyed your video. Do you have any suggestions on how to handle seating for two hundred guests and 54 are VIP's? Not sure how to escort them to their seats when I'm not sure who is who.

      Thank you so much! I highly recommend doing an alphabetized seating chart. You should place the seating chart at cocktail hour so guest can check where they sit while enjoying drinks and hors d’oeuvres. With that many people I recommend 2 seating charts.     Question, I'm not a decorator(I guess event designer) but I've just hired one for the 1st time. When you decorate a event do you stay for the duration of the party or do you return at the end to pickup your items?

      Good question. Typically if you are just designing the event that is your only job, therefore you are not required to stay for the duration of the event. Depending on the distance of the event you may leave if you live close by or you may stay the entire event if it’s not worth it to leave and come back. Also the designer may be onsite to set up but at the end of the night he or she may send their employees to pick up the items.

    Is there any difference between event manager and event planner?

      Hi, thank you for watching. Yes there is a difference between event Manager and Event Planner. An event manager typically works for the venue the event is taking place. Everything they can offer you is limited to what they provide at the venue and that is their priority. The event manager will not handle all the other logistics of your event, which is why although venues may say they have an event manager in house, the client still needs a personal event planner to oversee the entire event.
