They don't take pictures of the back of the cards??? That is bad, really, really bad. There are rare numbered cards where they put the number on the back of the card. PSA has a bulk trading card price, this is for an estimated value of $200 per card. So my guess is that's why the GameStop price is that along with the valuation. You get charged on the backend for the increased insurance on cards valued higher than $200. If you were to go through PSA and send out 4 cards you would not get the bulk price, you would use value pricing and that would be $25 per card with a valuation up to $500. They would still charge you more for the insurance on shipping if a card was valued higher than that $500.
@Gimp2288 PERFECT 👍 pretty much 100% right... I think u might have an estimated value of up to $500 before u get upcharged which would be even better than the $200 but well have to wait and c
@Smokemon07 there may be some confusion for you here, tcg cards are sent with a declared value of $200, other cards like sports cards are sent with a declared value of $500 but the cost of grading those is $19.99 v the $15.99 of the tcg cards.
whats the fee when over 200$ for an example? And when you ask for money, will they pay over 1200 from their limit on buying cards? And do you need both sleeves and card savers on them
@gmgrindingwithnocontent5512 I think it's over $500 and it might be like $50/60 but that comes directly from psa not gamestop... yes u do need both clear penny sleeve and card savers to submit anything to psa regardless of if u go to gamestop
I also submitted some cards 10 days ago and the still say order created on my order status. Meaning they still haven't shipped them out... not using gamestop again. At least not this same one.
Yep, the process he is doing is the right way but just had a little miscommunication. The card savers are $0.25 and yeah the packs of penny sleeves are $2.99 for about a 100 sleeves but I just buy a couple packs of sleeves and leave them for the guest to use. Also that 3rd layer of protection he put is his own user discretion, those are actually used for guest who bring PSA slabs to sell to us and we put those on if they don’t have them to prevent scratching on the slab but we do put the graded submissions in a tamper sealed bag and then locked away in camera view to prevent any mishaps. Also there is a 10 day hold unless we have a minimum of 20 graded submissions, then we can ship them out right away.
@TooBreezyEntertainment appreciate all that extra info... yeah the sleeve thing we figured out was wrong like the day after but obv I didn't mind because it was the 1st day they were taking submissions... didn't know that about the 3rd layer, was still confused at that because I think he told me it's actually not supposed to be free
Three of my friends are GemeStop managers and collectors, as well, and they each say the "Hold" is at their discretion. If they consistently get 20, 30, 40, 50 or more submissions, they will ship the next day or even the same day depending on how early they received those submissions. Also, I was advised that if they are slow and only have, let's say 8, 9 or 10 cards for submission, they will send them anyway, no more than a week from receiving them. The process is new, even though word was out there for months and I initially wanted to wait a few weeks or a couple of months for GameStop and PSA to work out any issues and wait until the process becomes more streamlined between the two. Plus, I wanted to wait, because you know in a couple months, there will be a ton of videos of people getting their GameStop/PSA submissions back and I want to hear the pros/cons of each. But, my friends(GameStop managers) have used this process to submit their very own cards, so I will at least send in about 20 low-end cards(valued between $30 and $50 and see what happens. If all goes well, then I will be using GameStop as my primary submitter.
@ I as well submitted cards and I just got them back! All came back 10’s and one 9. Also the 10 day hold might just be certain stores because in my system it don’t even let me send them until it’s been 7-10 days unless I have a minimum 20 of TCG or NON-TCG they also set up some type of lockout feature until it is good to ship. I will definitely be sending more out here soon!
@s6underground I have no idea lol.... I'd imagine if your gamestop is close to closing they prob won't be doing this grading thing..it's not ever single store, only tcg expansion stores
does gamestop pay for the return shipping? usually psa charges a return shipping. Does gamestop eat this when cards are shipped back from psa to the gamestop store?
from what i have heard, PSA will be identifying the specific cards, gamestop just labels them a number and sends them off...their website should be able to tell you exactly what types of cards they will accept... they are def doing sports, DBZ, Lorcana and stuff like that... how fringe we talking? 🤣
@@Smokemon07 lol, Weiss schwarz is a pretty good anime trading card game that covers lots of animes but some only get released in Japanese and a lot of those are the series I like.
Hes the Man 💪 appreciate u watching, prob a good idea to wait a lil, we already got some updates/changes but apparently the upcharge is only if your card is estimated over $500, and that charge comes directly from PSA

💎 I Just heard that PSA is going to be opening up a Facility somewhere in Europe pretty soon. It's to help people in Europe, not pay for shipping fees to the States back and forth.
Hello! Can I use my PSA Vault address as a return address with any submission? I ask this because I live abroad but I'm planning to fly to US next year and my country doesnt have pokemon collection culture.
@@LuisEdwins unfortunately I have no idea 😕🤣 prob not, your supposed to pick the cards up at the store when they return, don't know if u can choose to ship them somewhere else
Thats not bad, i recently graded 2 cards to psa directly at arnd 35 a piece, so seems reasonable. I wonder if they can ship to your home as an option if youre paying the shipping anyways
🤔 that is a great point about the shipping... i don't think they are going to be doing that right now but would make things even easier how much was the Max Estimated Value when you sent your cards for $35 each?
Got a email saying my cards are ready for pick up. Went to the store and they said the district manager said they can not release any more PSA submissions returns till further notice! I ask why and no one knows! They are holding my cards hostage!
🤮... i know my cards were sitting there for maybe a day or 2 waiting for the Manager to give the go ahead, not sure what they are waiting for exactly but i picked mine up last week
I had a Tyrone and a Leeeeeroyyy Jenkins from my first 2 Gamestops. Both were completely useless, and wanted nothing to do with helping me. They literally requested I come back when their manager was there... Fail... 3rd Gamestop was better. Not quite a Jay, but close. @taylorcullimore I'm jealous 🤣🥰 good Luck with them, u got to let us know how it goes. I'm going to make another video of me getting the cards back, I'm curious what the upcharge will be for our cards?
@@Smokemon07 Thanks bro, be sure to let the rest of us know how yours go. I've been told the upcharge will be no more than $483. Pray for me, pray for us 🙏.
@torpidbeast that was more of a made up example than an actual fact but if u sent a 1st Charizard for grading and got a 10 the card would be worth like $50,000 I think so u could c why psa would upcharge u a lot
Didn't even know they sold the sleeves and stuff I walked into a GameStop today and employee was extremely rude and basically told me to f off because my cards were in toploaders 🤷♂️
I submitted mine the day before, same location. Good luck with the grades! Quick question, did you have trouble using the ultra pro card saver they provided, it was hard to put the cards in for me
@Kkopz hahhaa I think we might have talked about u 🤣 yes a Lil trouble, they are very skinny card savers for some reason.... hopefully they get some larger ones or let u use your own
@Billybob99999 yup, I don't think he had any other sizes but Def too small.... especially if they trying to make the process seem safe and easy, fighting to load your expensive cards in a saver isn't the best idea
Yea just checked online on GameStop and the $1.89 they charged for penny sleeves is the price for a pack of 100! So you should have gotten 400 sleeves lol.
@mdbu17 yeah appreciate u finding out and letting us know... now that makes a lot more sense 🤣 selling single sleeves for over $1 didn't make too much sense
@babyneon i think that might have been a mistake... pretty sure the upcharge is for cards valued over $200, regardless of the grade. And apparently that is coming directly from PSA
@jimmygudiel3007 great question, and that's the problem with this "stupid" declared value thing... as far as I know, it's literally just your best guess based off what grade u think youll get and the expected value... it's a horrible system
@jimmygudiel3007 "luckily" u don't have to do that when u submit thru GME but obv there is an upcharge if the estimated return value is over $200, $500, and $1000 I think
Yeah that's how it works, they charge you their entry price but the more the product is worth the more the insurance is on it, a 150,000 dollar card is bound to have some expensive insurance on it lol
😆🤣 its a horrible process, all the grading companies do this 😪 you have to submit an estimated value for your card when u grade with a company and obv the more expensive the "esitmate" for the card the more you pay for the grading fee...
@ so someone that doesn’t know this grades his favorite card and unknowingly gets hit with “hey we graded it give us another 1,000 you probably don’t have or we keep your card” lol
@JasonV845 🤣 that's a great point, I have no idea what would happen if you couldn't pay the upcharge 😕🤔 to your point, I guess it would make more sense to "not" grade through gamestop if that is a concern for you. Just pay the extra fees up front instead of getting charged afterwards but there is Def no way around paying a lot more to get a valuable card graded
@@Smokemon07 I need to research this lol. looking to get a few cards graded, but after hearing these surprise charges for valued cards is kinda off putting at first. This is my first time trying to get some cards graded.
@JasonV845 ooo nice ,yeah we can Def figure out the best way for u to submit, I've submitted directly to psa and then obv thru gme ... if u give me a couple hours, when I get back home I can share all the info I know about the process with u, hopefully that will help
Ultra Pro Card Savers are trash! They are too tight, too small and can damage the card(s)! Regardless of what GameStop says, I will always use "Card Saver 1" protectors, and will never used Ultra Pro, ever! Plus, I believe GameStop's system is backwards, they should be charging $1.00 for the Ultra Pro card saver and .25 for the penny sleeve, not the other way around. A pack of 100 penny sleeves cost $1.25, why would I pay $1.89 for one. Use your head people!
appreciate the comment and yeah EVERYONE agree with u... those sleeves are trash and can damage your cards... i actually just released the return video last night, hope u can check it out. we corrected a lot of the mistakes in this video
@@Smokemon07where did you find information about the upcharge? I figured it was $200 max value since the cost to submit with gamestop is similar to the cost to submit with PSA with 200 max value.
@bluegrass_RT exactly what I would have thought, if it is $500 max this would be the same if not better than psa charge I think.... obv this is all very new to the company and employees so things can Def change but that's all the info I have rn
@juanlao6214 no, think that was a mistake... the upcharge only comes if the value is over $200 I think... it doesn't matter what the grade is, just the value
@Smokemon07 that doesn't matter they basically charging him for taking care of his own card it honestly doesn't make any sense all they do is grade someone hard work and they charge more lmaoo that's b.s..... it should be 1 price for grading that all .
@devinwilcox2153 thanks for sharing 👍 he might have told me 49 days but idk if he specified business days but that would make sense because I believe that's the standard turnaround for psa
@wolfenher6937 lol I saw the same one, that's why I had to go do it myself... I mean if u already have your cards in Ultra pro sleeve and card savers then it is going to be super easy and simple... if u do have to buy the sleeves from gamestop, they are a Lil overpriced and possibly too small a size
@@Smokemon07 Thanks for not having a negative response. I appreciate that. I know you didn't want someone saying that in chat but someone keeping it real and here isn't a bad a thing! keep up the good vids!
that would be for one of the most expensive Pokemon Cards Ever Made... there is a $200 Estimated limit per card, anything over will be subjected to an upcharge directly from PSA... ill have to wait and see how much the upcharge will be but $1,000 was just an example if your card is worth like over $10,000.... and if your card is that expensive, i would prob just send it in yourself thanks for watching 🙏
Pretty neat, but I hope they do more to protect your cards than just toss them in a plastic bag in semi ridged sleeves. Hopefully they put that bag in a cardboard box or something
@Smokemon07 Yeah it's always concerning having someone else take care of your stuff. Some people don't take care of their own things, let alone your stuff. Good luck though!
@vanillabean3183 for sure and I mean it still has to go to fed ex too, which would be my biggest concern for safely handling... that's why I only graded a couple , need to make a video when they come back to give a final opinion b4 we all go crazy
@Smokemon07 And honestly, I've seen videos of PSA messing up cards too. Its a gamble. I have a few good cards I want to send off. Never have done it, but I have some bangers if they grade 10.
@@vanillabean3183 oo yeah dude, between the shipping and PSA there is def a lil risk, and then throwing another company into the mix only adds some more room for error but GameStop did assure me that they do ship the cards out in a box that safely holds all the cards and stuff so tbh GameStop would be the least of my worries, compared to the shipping and psa
I feel like the secuity aspect is lacking here, but we will see alot of content creators sent out cards with gamestop for content, and we wont know results until 45 days later lol
@@Smokemon07 I’d say both, for example how do they take care of stolen goods or lost goods. Say you get a psa 10 umbreon they lost it somehow in transition. Do they pay you market price? Or like 75% of it… will they just take ur card and give you 75% of the cost and then list it for 100% themselves? I guess in 45 days we will see. Also if fedex knows everyone they pick up a package from GameStop it’s worth a lot they can steal them too. Idk lots of holes I guess for now.
@@ChillStudyDate agreed, the more "hands in the pot" the more room for error for sure.... thats why i didnt want to send anything too crazy yet... i would imagine that in the Moonbreon example u just gave, it would def be a headache but idk if it would be any worse than if psa or fedex lost your own submission?
That is trash 💀 up charging after the fact, and simply because the value of an item that isn't theirs to begin with is high value! If the service is already paid in my opinion that's the "line" and it should not be crossed!
@@Smokemon07 everyone is doing it because PSA charges more to grade high end cards, with gamestop they are paying for the option that allows grading up to a value of 200 usd per card so anything ending up with a value above that after grading will result in an upcharge from PSA to GameStop, and GameStop then simply passes it on to the customer as previously agreed upon. It's shitty yes but unless you have a PSA membership overall you still save money compared to sending directly because of the discounts GameStop receive
@chadhowell1328 100% 🤢 the worst part for sure.. what's even funniest is currently, I think the penny sleeve is over $1 and the card saver is like $0.25 lol

@@Smokemon07 haha yeah, those are just for PSA Slabs, and are considered store supplies so no way to ring those up so technically they aren’t free lol
