Collection of mods for Whiterun. First a comparison, gameplay after that. Gameplay starts at 3:11 Check out also Riverwood modded here: th-cam.com/video/MIzhjii6sJE/w-d-xo.html Thanks for watching :)
They did this within the first few years, and most of that time was the modding community getting started on how to develop for it. Skyrim was really underdeveloped at release and Bethesda has done basically fuck all to improve it aside from DLC that do little for skyrim as open world.
Now THIS is the trade hub of skyrim! I was so disappointed by the cities in skyrim, definitely gonna use this and other city overhauls for my next playthrough.
I love how every NPC's house is expanded and meticulously decorated to feel unique and lived in. It really brings them up to standard with those player home mods.
Great comparison! whiterun expansion and better roads looks really interesting for me personally. :) Never heard of that horse statue lol. But: you forgot to cover that awesome door mod and the mod holds the city overhaul by Galandil. He aims to make Skyrim more believable and busy but less cluttered like e.g. JK‘s
Holds is so huge that it probably deserves its own video. Yes, I should've included more footage about the gate but I forgot. Still, amazing looking gate retexture.
anyone know what happened to the "whiterun_overhaul_ww.esp" mod? the building textures in that mod were so pretty and also extended to your hearthfire homes. I had to redownload my mods recently and that one seems to not exist anymore. These ones in the video are nice but not nearly as pretty looking; sad I can't find it anymore :(
@@vareos9874 Yeah that's because LE has way worse performance in cities than SE. Even unmodded, certain cities in LE have worse performance than the same MODDED city in SE. (I'm talking about Riften and Markath, for example.)
@@specialke1 well at least its just the cities XD if youre on LE there will always be things better in SE and in SE there will always be better things for LE aswell XD its really hard to pick the right one sometimes XD
@@vareos9874 Yeah! I agree. I love how pretty you can make LE look, + so many good mods to chose from. At the same time, SE runs like butter and you can make SE look pretty too (LE is still superior tho if we're talking about looks) that's why I run both LE and SE :D
When doing extensive mod setups for individual locations like this, how do you keep your plugin list from getting too bloated? Do you merge all the plugins for one location? Like, all the mods pertaining to Riverwood become one plugin, everything for whiterun another?
haha most likely not, alot of the times plugin lists are always bloated, just sorted properly and inspected in tes5edit for conflicts. large modlists are usually only stable because they created custom patches for their modlist
The mod is great until the great war quest comes Some parts of the city will be destroyed, wouldnt it bring you trouble and crushing your game if you travel to whiterun?
Are these compatible with Keep It Clean? KIC adds a trapdoor in every inn to a bathhouse that can be used to "clean up", so to speak. You accumulate dirt and grime over time, and it lowers your disease resistance, but bathing will actually remove that penalty *and* give you a small temporary "clean" buff based on the type of soap you used.
The funny thing is that without enb you can render this easily even with 3 years old card barely dropping below 50fps on 1080p but when it comes to turning enb on.... Well... Your gtx 1060 just turns into a toaster. So with enb rtx 3080 will prolly render at 50-60fps at 1440p hopefully. It's all to do with the ray tracing, ambient oclusion and detailed shadows. You can technically load full LODs with tons of trees etc for max distance on 3090 at 4k without enb on 60fps. I feel like it's time to develop a new technology and upgrade skyrims engine if that os even possible
hello I know I am a bit late but I see you are using dyndolod with it , I am trying to use it but can't install it with nmm so I might switch to mod organizer , what mod program you use? also if it is possible for you to upload your modlist and plugin order because I want to mod my skyrim to look amazing as you but the mods keep screwing each other with nmm and LOOT is useless , it would be appreciated , ty for the video!!
I use Mod organizer 2. You can use dyndolod with it by adding dyndolod as an executable program and then running it from Mod organizer (same list that shows SKSE and Skyrim launcher). I actually use sselodgen which has less features, I suppose, but you can still create lod with it. Here's mod list for graphics: th-cam.com/video/f9VdgpX0Qwk/w-d-xo.html (esp plugin order in description and installation in the same order than shown in video)
I dont like the horse statue, because it blocks the way. I also don't like the pine trees, because skyrim is a cold place and the trees will make it colder.
Really shows off how half-ass Bethesda was in the months before pushing out the game. They didnt give they team enough time to do the finishing touches. Modders will always improve games like this, but when the change is so OBVIOUSLY better, it means the original was poorly done.

are there any compatiblity issues or patch files needed because you have dawn of skyrim which jk skyrim doesnt have a patch for??

@@joshuaguevara5016 Nice to hear!
@arctic scrolls I’d love to know what enb and weather mod you are using?
Its amazing what modders have done to this game over the years. I salute every mod maker out there.

They are in possession of Heart of korkhan.
"Ahhh smell that fresh air" lol
Couldn't you drink it like BOOOOOZEE
whiterun in past games was called the imperial city of skyrim, then when we finally get to see it, its an underwhelming village with a big palace
I like the interiors Jk's done as well, for some of the buildings in Whiterun, especially Warmaidens and the Drunken Huntsman.
Now THIS is the trade hub of skyrim! I was so disappointed by the cities in skyrim, definitely gonna use this and other city overhauls for my next playthrough.
Whiterun looks amazing. So much so that I'd want to live there.

I wonder what the lower new district would be called. Probably just farm district.
Nice showcase!
please make one for another cities, especially Winterhold
So this is where Nate got that horse statue
Honestly surprised how well this runs, this setup is completely unplayable on LE no matter your hardware, hell, JK alone sinks FPS hard
it feel's its not skyrim but a better place
You mean the potential skyrim(what it could be.).
It's the Skyrim we deserve.
MODDERS!
Devines bless your kind heart

I only have a PS4 I wish I could do this with a console. I did however, order the special edition so I hope that goes well.
Uhm.. I hope you will not get dissapointed too bad.. But really, even the special edition vanilla doesn't compare to this
Steel Dick Best Friend nah that’s better than the shitty quality I had on my brother’s Xbox 360.
@@sassycassie1282 There are a few city overhaul mods also for ps4. Kato's Whiterun for example. And Great Cities series for smaller towns.
Arctic Scrolls Really? Ok thank you for that example of mods!!
@@sassycassie1282 Hopefully you've had some success, Sassy! I'd like to know how it turned out for you.
how do you get no performance loss from JK? you use a light version?
I use full version. And I do get performance loss in some places. 5 fps from jk alone in some places, it seems.

Behind the shops, next to Ysolda's house
