The MAX light is odd. I assume it is supposed to light up if the elevator is at maximum capacity, and/or if it is overloaded, but it seems to be lit up even when the elevator is empty. The light dimming button is interesting, don't think I have seen this before even in photos/videos from various countries. I wonder if the controller is original, or if it has been replaced, since it is still single speed. I think single speed elevators were still installed recently (within the last 5 years) in India, and are likely still installed in the present day.
MAX is actually the brand name of this generic elevator company. Max Elevators to be exact. They did maintain this well and decided to mod it later on. And I believe it's still on the original controller which is some early microprocessor from the 1980s or maybe the 1990s which is also the year of installation. Replacing the controller may no longer allow it to be single-speed and may increase the time of usage.

When I was 8 years old after a function my Grandfather was taking me and my sisters to their apartment . My grandfather told me that one of the elevators was in the process of being modernized. It was originally a 1990s Johnson now it has been modded by generic company called smartech. On Nov 6 2016 my family and my father's cousin's girls came on that day after the mod of the 1st elevator was done I took a ride I was really impressed for a while. That evening my cousins and sisters decided to play downstairs so I put a race my sisters and cousins use the elevator and I used the stairs obviously the elevator won but when I reached the ground floor nobody was there the new elevator was at 0 but I did not see them I looked all around I came back to the elevator lobby where I heard a someone crying for help that's when I realised that they were stuck inside the elevator I was very shocked by what I heard. So I ran to the security and told him that somebody was stuck inside the elevator I called my father and told him everything so he rushed downstairs in the other elevator after this the security rescued them. I was very shocked seeing that a modernized elevator broken after the mod that's when I realised that generic elevators are nothing but a pile of garbage
That's quite a shocking story! I'm so sorry to hear what happened to them Like the person who I got inspired to film elevators clearly found and said that modern elevators are not built to last even more longer compared to vintage elevators.
So sad! Imagine being *mudernized* by a crappy generic. Why the building management doesn’t choose proper brands to mod? This mod is also bad, especially the COP. I think the MAX light is like for the brand or a glitching max load light that still lights on even the max capacity in the car is not reached?
Yeah, it's all the same, except for new fixtures. Even lights got replaced and the same original cab got repainted. But I saw the old fixtures for like more than a decade. So, seeing it go was the most upsetting moment for me in my elevator hobby.

I haven't found a Johnson elevator with swing door yet. It's kinda hard to go to locations like that in a city of Maharashtra.
