Mark's face when the board falls is my mood basically everyday at work. 😆

15 rates, 8 time increment(set), and 19 weight equates to 2280 workout. I get the feeling that learning sword and becoming a sword master takes less time than mastering a kettlebell.

Are you planning on putting all these protocols into a book? It would definitely sell 🤗

What he talks about in the nerd math videos is basically the back bone of the programming in the app he's developing.

Definitely working my way up to this... Ksenia Dedyukhina is aspirational.

Thanks for answering my question re
total work(light day) > total work(heavy day) generally.
but if you wanted to do a whole video on it, I would watch it.

Love Kenneth Jays "Viking Warrior.." training protocols for snatch. 36/36, 36/24 etc working up to 20 sets per arm....
Originally did it with a 16kg, then went round again with the 24kg - did the SSST and got 204 with one hand change. Then I tweaked my hip flexor/psoas...which has bugged me ever since. Did 4 minutes with a dumbbell under me today (tip from comments 👍) and felt feckin amazing!
So I may be hitting the snatch build up again! Bang for buck, timewise this is the best exercise there is 🤷‍♂️
    Thanks Mark!

What do you mean by "a dumb bell under me"?

    • @MarkJYule
      @MarkJYule 3 ปีที่แล้ว

Watched Marks video on the psoas release "gadget" and someone in the comments mentioned that a dumbbell would do the same :) I tried it - using a dumbbell with rubber 5 kg plates - when I got up my hips felt like they were "snag free" - it's been giving me grief for years - from pain at the front to feeling like I have an unstable SI joint. It's put the kibosh on heavy swings and also snatching for time... Derailed the gains I'd made and I've had conflicting assessments by physios and my Dr.
Going to give this a go for a month or two and see what happens :)

I plan on continuing my snatch program after I finish this 10,000 swing challenge. I may have to practice some of this soft style programming to help towards the SSST.

The concept of holding the kb overhead is similar to Mark’s prescription for TGU for time, where you start with the KB overhead, and never put it down across an increasing time domain, switching hands on each rep. Past 10 - 12 minutes, it gets quite miserable

  • @heckl0r

Can snatch replace C&P in the original Tetris of training, or at least to the point at which snatch volumes make doing additional work that day too hard? Just thinking about how to program it in with clubs & other kB moves.
And thanks for leaving the board fall in, comedy gold.

What would you recommend first ? Longer sets with same number of reps or the other way around ?

So if say doing the 3min to maybe 5min time range . What would one do with the rest of the workout ? If I do 10min warm up and 10min cool down with ONLY 3min of working TUT.

Would this be how you program for the SF snatch test? Maybe do volume up to 10reps x 10mins then density down to 20reps x 5 mins?
