bear Correct, that is the whole point of the experimental challenge in the video. But having nothing else to do, then what is the whole point? They are just sitting there silently, resisting the urge to get on their phones for 20 whole minutes. They should at least have a book or something to do, that would make it a lot more better and interesting, way more improved from having nothing to do like in the video

Can we hit 5,000 subscribers with no videos? Half of the kids in my school are hooked on their phone... it’s hard for me to even believe people who aren’t addicted to their phones exist
of course its hard because they just sit there and done nothing. I can leave my phone for 24 for hours even more if I read book, watching movie, or have a chit-chat with fams.
I would want to try my own challenge in which I don't touch my phone, waiting until I get a text and then having to wait 20 minutes without touching it, but I never get any texts so I would be waiting forever and the challenge would be impossible.
My Grandma would pass out... LITTARLY. She can't go 1 second without seeing her phone!! It gets to the point where she starts walking, stops to text, then keeps walking, and it keeps going on... She also won't talk to you unless you say her name! That's how addicting a phone is to her. Its sad...
Im just gonna assume that they werent allowed to leave the area of the couch because if i were in an empty studio i would probably be exploring lmao. If i were in this experiment i would probably be alternating between 3 things: just relaxing with my eyes closed, singing aloud, and daydreaming/spacing out
Joey Aguayo that’s the challenge. Put teens who don’t know each other in a black room just like this with nothing and see if they converse or keep on their own.
Okaaaaay so it's not that teens are addicted to their phones it's that they are stuck in a room with literally nothing to do except their phone which is right in front of them
i was about to comment that....obviously they would be bored when there is literally nothing to do.This experiment should jave an actual room and the cameras should be hidden because nobody wants to do embarrassing things infront of so many studio cameras(because most people do things alone that they wont want the whole world to see).It is also giving the wrong impression soo...
@@juanmeza958 uhm no, we are literally the best generation because we literally have the highest stress levels compared to the past ones and if you want to compare that with statistical facts it's been scientifically proven that gen z has a higher stress level than a child psychiatric patient in the 1950's. Why am I telling you this?, what's the point of this?, you might ask. Well I'm telling you this because it means we would be the best generation to understand mental illnesses and psychological needs if we have children and we are the first generation to be the one that "teaches" the world of technology to the older ones, like our parents. That being said, our parents (in a vast majority, generalizing a bit here) don't understand what bullying online could potentially do to our mental health and social life. Since we are the "online generation" and these things have more impact on us. Not to mention the BLM movement where we literally kicked back tear gas bombs back to the police like they were just a normal kickball from gym class. We're the generation that actually stood up for the next one that will come so our children can have a better future. We're the generation that made LGTBQ+ rights sooo much more relevant in today's day and age (not that it wasn't before but it's more mainstream now), especially regarding politics. We trolled Trump using tiktok which he couldn't even ban, we kicked him out of office and now.. we just wait and see.
@@IsabellaGentile well said. we are the most progressive generation so far and we are more involved in socio-economic issues than any other generation at our age. we are obviously far from perfect and we’re not some kind of crime-fighting, social justice warrior generation, but we’re pretty good compared to the rest lol
Absolutely! I just posted a vid saying the same thing, feel free to check it out! Sorry for the promo, but many people are interpreting this “experiment” for something it’s not.
resisting technology isn't that hard when you're given a book to read or something but sitting in an empty room with nothing to do for 20 minutes is totally different
Mary Waters maybe, but i’d walk around, think of something, or act out the whole prequel trilogy, take a nap, lie down whatever. Not that I have a phone.
It's human nature to respond to any stimulation possible. An experiment similar to this was done, where a person was left alone with no stimulus but a button that gave them a shock. Everyone still pressed the button. Any stimuli is better than none. This has nothing to do with phones
This has way more to do to with boredom than "phone addiction". I think the point here is that our relationship with phones has changed to make them easily accessible tools to pacify our boredom.
this was only hard because they were left with nothing else to do. I think most people would react this way, unless they were tired and wanted to take a nap 😂
The point is that even with nothing to do this shouldn't be considered hard. It's 20 mins, it's nothing. You can queue or wait for appointments for much longer than that. How most of them reacted when the time was up was very telling, especially the one who frantically started typing (assuming it wasn't set up).
Naah. I daily sit at least 30 minutes on my bed doing absolutely nothing. Staring nowhere and just thinking stuff. It might sound weird but I just like sitting in quiet haha.

Jubilee: Finds 100 teens willing to do this experiment.
Also Jubilee: Alright cut out all the ones who don’t fit the stereotype that teens are addicted to phones.
Exactly
Can we hit 5,000 subscribers with no videos? Pretty much
*Honestly* 😤
Can we hit 5,000 subscribers with no videos? Half of the kids in my school are hooked on their phone... it’s hard for me to even believe people who aren’t addicted to their phones exist
Aria Moon you say that but what about the other half
I thought like "why is it so hard for them?" But i realised that i dont have any friends to text me and stuff so
U are getting a notification now
ItZ GregOry 10 :') thank u

Honestly if the phone was a brick and you had nothing to do but sit for twenty minutes you would want to touch it just as much
Straight facts...
True actually
They in a empty studio do soemthing think
Really you dont say
I would honestly would want to tuch the brick more tbh
My sleepy ass would have just took a nap .... like forget whoever texting me
of course its hard because they just sit there and done nothing. I can leave my phone for 24 for hours even more if I read book, watching movie, or have a chit-chat with fams.
Xo Lit “They had no other entertainment” They were sitting in silence alone.
AyoKay He noted that. He explained y it was hard and how he could manage to cope with not being able to use his phone.
Same
Chit chat with fams is my favvvvv
If you say chit-chat, you’re obviously not a teen so you don’t count.
I wouldn’t need to worry about getting texts or calls bc I rarely get them. I would’ve just taken a nap
I would want to try my own challenge in which I don't touch my phone, waiting until I get a text and then having to wait 20 minutes without touching it, but I never get any texts so I would be waiting forever and the challenge would be impossible.
Omg same 😂😂

Like litteraly they're just tryna make us GenZ'ers look bad....
Some of them use life support lol the irony
But it's true. Notice how they keep looking and were hesitant. And Gen Z itself, we have some huge flaws that we don't like to admit.
You put an adult in this situation, they'd also be bored
exactly! I just made a response vid saying pretty much the same thing, feel free to check it out if you're interested!
My Grandma would pass out... LITTARLY. She can't go 1 second without seeing her phone!! It gets to the point where she starts walking, stops to text, then keeps walking, and it keeps going on...
She also won't talk to you unless you say her name! That's how addicting a phone is to her. Its sad...
Skyrim waypoints
My Space they'd probably fall asleep tbh
Mochijin SAME
Im just gonna assume that they werent allowed to leave the area of the couch because if i were in an empty studio i would probably be exploring lmao.
If i were in this experiment i would probably be alternating between 3 things: just relaxing with my eyes closed, singing aloud, and daydreaming/spacing out
If you were in this video you would have been utterly destroyed in the comment section for doing that furry
I would probably sing really obnoxiously in a southern accent because I find endless entertainment from that.
Eww are you a furry?
Omg saaaaaame

The only guy who talked to the camera...I want him to be a youtuber. He seems the most entertaining of the bunch.

Genny Fluff that would be so good
Oooooo good idea
Joey Aguayo bro tf
Hwi Seong He said without anything lol what else are they gonna do? 😹
Joey Aguayo that’s the challenge. Put teens who don’t know each other in a black room just like this with nothing and see if they converse or keep on their own.
Me with 0 social life: I wouldn't have any notifications lmao
Okaaaaay so it's not that teens are addicted to their phones it's that they are stuck in a room with literally nothing to do except their phone which is right in front of them
Right they could at least be in their rooms
They should have a book
i was about to comment that....obviously they would be bored when there is literally nothing to do.This experiment should jave an actual room and the cameras should be hidden because nobody wants to do embarrassing things infront of so many studio cameras(because most people do things alone that they wont want the whole world to see).It is also giving the wrong impression soo...
@Galaxy stars get more books

i can go without my phone for a whole day... this just makes GenZ loook bad
I mean genZ is the worst generation already
@@fiftyzanes yes exactly my point ✨
They are just addicted.
This is not addiction, it is boredom. Studies have shown that people would rather give themselves an electric shock than sit and do nothing
Absolutely! I just posted a vid saying the same thing, feel free to check it out! Sorry for the promo, but many people are interpreting this “experiment” for something it’s not.
I'd be the person who found a taser and was like screw it why not haha.
resisting technology isn't that hard when you're given a book to read or something but sitting in an empty room with nothing to do for 20 minutes is totally different
Mary Waters maybe, but i’d walk around, think of something, or act out the whole prequel trilogy, take a nap, lie down whatever. Not that I have a phone.
@@malteser4459 YOU UNDERESTIMATE MY POWER
@@malteser4459 "act out the whole prequel trilogy" You've perfectly described exactly what would've happened had I been part of this experiment.
no
Mary Waters honestly id rather stare at nothing than read a book
It's human nature to respond to any stimulation possible. An experiment similar to this was done, where a person was left alone with no stimulus but a button that gave them a shock. Everyone still pressed the button. Any stimuli is better than none. This has nothing to do with phones
Thank 👏🏻 you 👏🏻 for 👏🏻 common 👏🏻 sense

that couch looks so uncomfy!
@@nohararin8404 it’s still a couch 😐
This has way more to do to with boredom than "phone addiction". I think the point here is that our relationship with phones has changed to make them easily accessible tools to pacify our boredom.
AfroQueen Yeah. Exactly.
YES!! EXACTLY!! THANK YOU!!
*Honestly if they had allowed them to do other things it would have been fairly easy.*
Stella_means_star that’s why they didn’t because it would be too easy!

this was only hard because they were left with nothing else to do. I think most people would react this way, unless they were tired and wanted to take a nap 😂
TaraLee no, this is easy even though they had nothing to do.
They weren’t allowed to nap.
TaraLee honestly 😭😭
The point is that even with nothing to do this shouldn't be considered hard. It's 20 mins, it's nothing. You can queue or wait for appointments for much longer than that. How most of them reacted when the time was up was very telling, especially the one who frantically started typing (assuming it wasn't set up).
Naah. I daily sit at least 30 minutes on my bed doing absolutely nothing. Staring nowhere and just thinking stuff. It might sound weird but I just like sitting in quiet haha.
