If i put my mind to this, price, parts cost more then the actual Kit here. I knock out the original wheek leave the hub on, and push a threaded rod through, and add two wheels and I got my own DIY trike mod
If the two Stabilizer Wheels are 1/2" to 3/4" off of the ground, it should not slow the bike down in an upright position. When the bike is tilted slightly to the left or right, and one of the Stabilizer Wheels engage, there will be a little additional drag and slow down. We recommend only riding on smooth surfaces and do not recommend riding on trails. Thank you.

That is a good question, thank you. The axles do not need to be aligned, as long as they are parallel to each other. When assembling the Bike USA Stabilizer Wheel brackets to the frame of your bike, it is important to use the correct spacers between the rear frame stays of the bike and the bracket, enabling the Bike USA Stabilizer Wheel hubs to be parallel with the bicycle rear wheel hub. As a result, all wheels will also be parallel to each other and there will not be any wheel drag.
@@bikeusainc3674 I have just finished test riding a bike I put together for my elderly mum. I have the stabiliser axles farther back than the bike's rear axle and I found it really hard to steer the bike.What have I done wrong?
I have a fear of falling and knee OA with deformity. Thefearstopped me from riding a bike for decades. Tried scooting but it hurt my knee and I could feel the imbalance. Got some from Amazon. They make the bike heavier though. Still scared of the wobble but they will get me cycling. Only problem is stupid comments and laughing. I can glide for a couple of seconds maybe. They are for confidence, safety and will slowly be raised.

Been a lot of feeling sorry for myself and the Pitty Party but, now I have got to do this Therapy Thing if it Kills Me ! I got a 1/2 paralysis from the Stroke. I got a bicycle. And 26 inch tires. It's a Murry 3 speed from the early 80's. I got on it a said my prayers and shot off down my driveway and to the road. I don't give a lick if anyone says anything. Chances are they'll be Cheering me on because in my rural town everyone knows I have had a stroke and heart troubles. I had one bif' that has led me to try these tire out. I fell down when I was turning around and saw a car coming my way. Luckily a good Samaritan saw the whole thing and came to my assistance. Fell on my right side or my dominant side. It happens to be the side that I have the paralysis on. Hurt my hip, drew some blood on my elbow, and scuffed up my pinky. Didn't need the Emergency Room just a ride home a couple of blocks and clean up. If I can do it anyone can !

Some' say they interfer /stiffen the steering... have you gotten used to the wheels? Btw, I am looking into a lowrider/chopper' adult bike one with an elongated low to ground frame where a person can put their feet on the ground easily. Have you tried one of those?
@@Idahomie No, I haven't bought anything yet. I am researching All the training wheels as of yet. I will try the best one that meets my needs. Little is cheep. Larger tires with welded and steel seems the way for me. Good fortune in a solution for you.
If it works for up to 500 lbs yeah. That's why I want to buy it. I've fell and broke 2 bones while riding my e-bike. I can't allow this to happen again because I don't have Evel Knievel type money. My bike weighs a ton and is hard to control if I lose my grip

Anyone out there with a use these' with a paralyzed lower leg ? Wondern if they're wide enough to really stabilize a cognitively intact' rider?
