No, it is not even close to the complexity level of fully autonomous. Teleoperation isn't challenging to achieve. The reason you feel it to be impressive is simply because you are not a researcher in this field
@takedown243 Tesla's Optimus has an autonomous mode which has been demonstrated and is becoming more capable by the day. It's not impressive to remotely operate a robot as we've been doing that for decades, but yes, it is impressive to do so when it's a highly dexterous walking humanoid, which has taken many years of breakthroughs in manufacturing and robotics technology to achieve. Tesla has the most advanced operational real world AI on the planet with FSD v12, which fixed almost all of the issues by getting rid of most of the human written code and building an AI from the ground up. Their humanoid AI will quickly catch up and has already demonstrated cutting edge capabilities.
@@Flashfrozenflounder4858 you can boast on all the good things when nobody can buy it from the markets, while at the same Unitree products have been available for long time
We will be getting a G1 early next month to review :)! Will be the first in the states with one. If you guys wanna do a collab or something let me know 🙌
Thanks for sharing the comparison! Advancements over the past few years have been amazing. I can't wait for the autonomous, or even partially automated robots to be available for purchase in the pricing mentioned.
I think it would be unwise for anyone to put development androids amongst the general public without many safeguards. It's just too early; a controlled lab situation with many controls is quite different.
Seeing Tesla Optimus and Unitree G1 compared is fascinating, but the price is a whole other story. Optimus feels like a sci-fi dream, but it’s way out of reach for most people. G1’s agility is cool, and it’s more affordable, but it still feels like this tech is more for companies than everyday life. I’ll just enjoy watching from the sidelines for now!
0:48 The "real autonomous" drink server was sped up and also tethered, more deception from Tesla with the ladder guy conveniently obscuring the tether for most the video. 0:48
Exactly like full self driving... The hardware is looking ready, more hardware is being brought to bear on creating the AI (Grok-3 level?) capable to automating these robots. It's all coming together. Can't listen to Musk and others hyping for investment on timescales... Ray Kurzweil is the most dependable so let's say 2029.
The rubbish geriatric robot with special employees hiding inside or operating it gets all the attention whilst the real talent silently keeps improving.

Being able to remotely perform these tasks is extremely impressive in itself.

Here's the twist: This CNET presenter is actually a fully autonomous humanoid robot.

No make no mistake, some robots are going to be for home security as well but what do I know, just a thought🤖🤖
I’m definitely getting a Optimus

Tesla Optimus performs like a middle aged gentleman, Unitree G1 perfoms like an young athlete.
Remote telepresence is still amazing. But pure humanoid form has less use than Dr. Octopus
Unitree G1 giving atom in real steel type of vibes

OMG!!! They're a Life!!! 💥🤯💥
Will other companies be able to load their AI onto Unitree's G1, is that what they're going for?
If you want a fair comparison, then put the two robots in an octagon and have them fight for dominance.
These humanoid robots are getting just crazy, too much focus on that tech😢
When Lockheed Martin starts making and selling these to the US Army I Will be worried .
They already have

okay someone wire multimodal llm to control G1 controller
Here a dark take. Pay someone in a third world country to be the AI and become a home servicebot.
Probably not, but it’s alarming that there’s a nonzero chance…
Tesla is going to win this race clearly 😂
what is the use case of optimus? expensive bear-brick?
What? Elon misrepresenting a product?
