I’ll tell you what Red, those double stack, and those high priority Z trains was flat rolling. Those engineers was not letting no grass grow under those babies but anyway, another awesome video Red so as always you stay safe out there my friend and watch your back and we’ll see you on the next one
Another cool video Red. I believe I seen that empty tank train with the NS Power on the NS Pittsburgh line 4 days ago. I thought it was odd it had no buffer cars on it.
That was a fabulous priority intermodal to open with, Red. Long and really fast with mid-train DPUs! Great catch. I love the new flag location! 😃😃😃😃❤❤❤❤
That was an awesome mixed manifest, Red! Fantastic mix of freight, super long at 245 cars, and the gorgeous KCS power helping! I adore seeing trains like this!! 😃😃😃😃😃❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you for the spectacular video, Red!! I loved all the long, fast trains today. They were just amazing. I hope you have a fabulous weekend, and please be safe out there!!! 😃😃😃😃😃😃😃❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
All the trains have been great. Intermodals, stack/rack, mixed manifest, and coal! The manifests are probably the most interesting, due to the mix of freight, but every train is cool 😎! 😄😄😄😄❤❤❤❤
Hello Red, this is another great video, I especially liked the long coal trains. I worked in mining and the coal industry for many years, but they don't mine coal here anymore. The truck driver still needs a bit of practice unloading the excavator. Very well filmed. Thanks for the video and all the best to IOWA. Wolfgang
Wow the speed on some of those, nice catches.Hey Red saw my first CN with dependent power units on the tail of grain train heading west at CF bridge Keep them videos coming.
ROOOOAAARRR! Screaming track motors and glowing rail, what a way to open a presentation!!!! ❤ Property looks good with that pile of rubble gone. I wonder when the rail gang shows up. Stay safe brother 🙏👍🤙
@araneaetvelivolum1086 Yes Aranea, no slow orders that day! No rail gang. The tie gang went through and another crew installed that track panel on a nearby bridge. I missed that one!
@@redsiowatrainvideos6645 yeah, I had to watch your video twice as usual as there are so many details in it, and I realized that the ties got changed as they have different colors on track. Too bad you missed when they changed the bridge panel but I think when they reconstructed the bridge at the west end of Montur, we got a pretty good view of how that works.
Wow Red what a fab first train I've never seen i 5:54 ntermodels go as fast as they do in Montour! Awesome! Your American flag is in a new place? it's flying proudly in the breeze Red. Your drone footage was nice of the meet in the distsnce of the manifest & coal train. Interesting machinery too but I have to admit I didn't know what it was for! Loved all the train action Red. ❤😊👍
Lots of good stuff here! I gotta go for the mixed with the old UP paint leading. The excavator was neat too. BSV should be running their steam locomotive tomorrow
Dislike you are back from vaca already lol. But wow another great train video with lots of power and a bonus equipment unload. Looks like they replaced some ties while you were gone. Thanks Red
@davidsnider1703 You're welcome David S! Yes they did some ties and installed the track panel while I was gone. Hopefully some more vacation stuff yet this summer👍
I was surprised the priority had double DPUs on the rear considering the length of the train 🤔. And that was quite the coal train for not having a mid-train DPU. 😃😃😃😃❤❤❤❤
You had another active railfanning day at Montour, Iowa on 6 July 2024, Red! All the trains were moving fast except for the westbound train on track #1 near the end of the video that had set off the defect detector with an "integrity" problem. Do you have any idea what an "integrity" problem might mean? The CNW covered hopper car that we saw was a former CNW car which now has someone else's reporting marks. The covered hopper car with the "Employee Owned" logo still had CNW reporting marks. You mentioned the "tree tunnels" that the trains had to travel through. Do you remember the video that you uploaded a year or two ago with the maintenance of way vehicle with the grass cutter attachment that was trimming brush that was close to the tracks. You caught the brush cutting taking place somewhere west of Montour, Iowa if I remember the video correctly. Jaw Tooth uploaded a video recently that he took at Crescent Springs, Kentucky. Norfolk Southern hired a firm that uses a helicopter that has a sawing mechanism attached to a steel pole that dangles from the helicopter. The saw mechanism cuts branches that are close to the tracks. Jaw Tooth's wife also caught a similar helicopter cutting branches near high tension power lines on their farm in Ohio. (Posted 19 July 2024 at 2008 CDT.)
@thomasmackowiak Yes Thomas some good track speed in Montour! I believe the integrity failure may be related to noise. They have microphones along with heat detection. They usually roll to the next detector and see if the failure still exists. I do remember my tree trim video. Seeing a helicopter trim trees would be new to me!
Hey, Red! That is a Mainline Rail services track hoe out of Kansas City. Would love to see some close ups of the concrete ties in the crossovers east of you. Always great work, Red!

@roballen5670 Thanks Rob! That tanker had some good speed. I guess no buffers since it was empty.
Low Boys are a really Interesting Trailer and works Great for the Big Boy Equipment. 👍

@garymiller5937 Montour is usually good for some speed. Yep the flag location looks a little more professional now😃
@redsiowatrainvideos6645 It kind of reminded me of Iwo Jima before, but more professional is a good way to describe it now. 🙂🙂

Pretty fast! Makes the silence afterwards all the more deafining.
@viksaini For sure Vik! Montour is a quiet little town without UP traffic.

Good job Red ,Thanks

@dennisdingeman1564 Yep and they cleaned up the pile of asphalt off of my property👍
there is no way i could do a dispatch job keeping these trains on track without a head or going to the wrong town
I see the old ties beside the tracks. Did they replace any rail along with the ties, and are they done working your sectio, Red? Thanks! 😊😊
