Thanks for doing all this. I really enjoy your casting and beginners guides. I played the original warcraft, starcraft, and wow games (yeah I am old :). I played SC2 for a little bit but none of my friends play games anymore, and your casting has brought me back into the fold. I am currently retraining my brain and hands on vs AI matches to get used to Hotkeys and movement patterns. Again, thanks for doing all this.

@Qaos2 how long you've been playing? Seems a Tempo issue, but when macro and micro becomes second nature, you'll get to diamon too. Reach ~100 APM and let's go.

I used to be 50 - before SC2 was even released! At 65 I still play the occasional ladder game and claim to be the oldest player on the planet. Never been any good, best place was a brief period in platinum based mostly on proxies and rushes. Youngsters (I guess) would complain about about the cheese, some even accused me of cheating! Wow I must be better than I thought 😂
I'm with you brother, age 63.5, I played all the Blizzard games. Nicknamed Kenablo, but SC2 is the only game I still play of Blizzard games. I'm not as good as I once was at SC2, but I'm a little too lazy to be pro gamer efficient, maybe low apm competitive. I love Winter's commentary, which has kept me interested

the total dismissal of fixed air defense by even high level zerg baffles me. The amount of harass that is disabled by having two spores instead of none or one really seems worth it against an aggressive player
Its because it's too expensive.
A lot of things seem worth it for lower league players.
I wonder if building spire to get 4 or 6 corruptors is worth
Total dismissal= a spore crawler in every mineral line in game one.

hate it that even after a failed adept push toss has more workers than zerg, while zerg is more broke when 6minute-pushing.

No Reynor had a great comp, he just took too much damage from the initial Adept push, and the map is also not ideal.
Good to see more excellent Protoss . Maybe Protoss are not as weak as people say after all.
Protoss are only weak outside of Korea
How to easily defend the cannon rush:
0:39 as soon as you see the cannon go down, place 2 spine crawlers. You can always cancel one if need be. Reynor has the money for 2 spines. And it will guarantee your gold base is safe throughout the early game so you can spend more time on offense.
Cost wise it's a huge net win, 300 for 2 spines, but you kill a pylon a cannon, and you keep your 300 mineral hatchery.

I was looking for reynors armor upgrades the whole series
Its almoust no impact in ZvP, since almoust all P units hits hard but slow. Its very common to go only attack or +1 melee and +1 range. +1 armor only viable in late game vs Carriers since the attack fast but hit not that hard.

@@hivetech4903 cause all zerg units that has 90hp+ with armor can survive 1 hit more from stalkers, zealots (espesially, cause they has double attack), etc. And since "all P units hits hard but slow" its totally worth it, cause zerg can do another 2 attacks.
Stalker with +1weapon kills Hydrolisk for 7 hits, with +1armor for 8.

Wow, don't think I've seen protoss win a tourny in over a year. Couldn't help but notice they were all won fairly early on in the matches. It's almost like protoss late game is trash or something. Very well played by classic. Those forcefields in game 4 just... mmwwaah

game 3 really goes to show why you just cant ever let zerg live to the midgame. Zerg is just so, so, so much stronger than protoss the longer the game goes on because they can remax so much faster. They can lose every battle while sending a 3rd of their army just to snipe your bases again and again until they remax for a 6th time and you cant remax for a 4th.

I dont understand why Zerg don't build anti-air! 2 queen's at a hatch aren't enough to deal with the constant harass
Too expensive at time when oracles arrive. Zerg naturally behind on workers until like 40+ workers, building alot of spores and 3-30 makes it even worse, and usually 2-3 queens is enough to defend 1-2 oracles. But ye, I think if its 3, or twilight following we need spores more since queens always out of position dealing with adepts/prism. I think for averege gamer making spore for every base is fine, not much ppl can capitilize on saveng some drones. But they should.
@@kiwmyak What he's saying is 1-2 Spores saves 3+ workers per spore at minimum by stopping the Oracles.
And no, Zerg is usually ahead on workers in most scenarios bar a Roach+Ravager all in, and even then, sometimes they're ahead. As long as they're maintaining their injections and have their 3rd Hatch, it's very uncommon for Terran or Toss to be ahead on workers.

Isnt Reynor like second best zerg after Serral? Why it looks like zerg commits too much to defend and stay behind, but commiting less means death?
Nah it's just Reynor got outplayed here, Classic brought a tailor-made build for him. Despite the rankings, Dark or Solar would've done better here imho
Reynor may be second by points, but his recent play in events has been very uneven.
