Not a bad overview at all. Somethings I would have mentioned is the wide range of scales you can use. Everything from 2mm (yes they make those) and up. They also have "starter armies" which are set lists and tables for building your own armies via a point based system. Good job.
Very nice review of the book. I was just wondering which ancient nations does this book (Field of Glory Ancients and Medieval) contain. For example for ancient era is it only roman and carthage or there are nations like greeks, britons, gauls etc.?
Dugroz love this game. By the way I started doing some Let's Plays of the Field of Glory pc game which is very similar to the tabletop, except they use a hex based system. Still i think the tabletop will always be more fun!
dugroz I've had the rule book for a few years now. I played one test game some time ago and enjoyed it but for some reason I've been hesitant to jump into it. I'm not a convention or competition player, so whether the rules die or not isn't a big deal, but I've just not really gotten into it for some reason.
Yay historical wargaming on TH-cam! Nice review mate, really well done.

You can use the link in the description to see what army books are available; each lists each of the armies represented.
how o you getthe whole set? like the whatever the troops called and so.. i wnat it so badly!
Are the rules easily adaptable to smaller scales? I don't have too much space in my apartment or money to spend.
Unfortunately I haven't played this game in 3+ years, so I can't say for sure. Going from memory only, I don't think it was great for smaller scales.

Note to readers, this review is for the first Version of Field of Glory. They just released a version 2 (approx. Dec. 2012) -- TBD how much I like it.

Good review. Did you stick with the game after all of these years?
Thanks! No, unfortunately, I haven't played it in 2-3 years.
