They prove Jon's point by immediately making it uncomfortable and demanding that he concede that dancing is somehow essential. He doesn't want to fucking do it. Leave him alone. You don't see him foisting his hobbies on them.
+WalterLiddy Jon's hobbies are cooking, tidying up and cleaning stuff. So to be fair, unless they have maids or chefs in their homes, they already have to do Jon's hobbies whether they like to or not. :p
Eh, I've managed to get by without indulging in any of those hobbies. Of course, I live in a shithole and I'm fat and poor because I spend too much money on junkfood, so there's a downside...
I agree I agree I agree!!! He didn't say there was anything wrong with dancing. He didn't say he couldn't dance (which they all assumed). He said he didn't want to dance & he didn't like how people couldn't accept that & wouldn't stop trying to convince him to dance... & all 3 of them proved him right.
Craig goes: "I hate wedding speeches, THEY SHOULD BE OUTLAWED." Jon goes: "I hate dancing, but I DON'T MIND WHEN OTHER PEOPLE DO IT." Who's the dull, arrogant prick then, Craig?
@@Ana_crusis No, she was rude, too about Jon enjoying scented candles. Some people might be against calling her what she is simply because of her age, but that’s just ageism, then. Just like Craig, she’s an a pompous ahole.
I think they more or less missed the point Jon has about dancing. He clearly stated that he was fine with others dancing, but that the problem was when they didn't leave well enough alone, that had to coerce him into joining in. THAT is what he said he hates.
Seems like Jon's problem isn't dancing itself, but people who refuse to let others be to spend a party doing things they enjoy rather than things that please others. I happen to love dancing but my sympathy is totally with Jon on this one.
I felt really angry on Richardson's behalf, here. When you tell people you don't like dancing, that you don't want to dance at a party or something, the universal first response is "let's start you off with something easy. I guarantee you'll have fun." Sod your guarantee. I've obviously tried dancing before, how else would I know that I hate doing it? Why is my lack of participation bothering you so much? I'm not throwing buckets of water on you whenever you start twitching, you can do what you like. Get back on the bloody dance floor and let me enjoy my nibblies in peace.

Craig and its pointlessly pretentious double barrel are so far up its own fundament it can taste its own duodenum. Richardson is far more interesting than the fake tan in too-tight clothes. Hancock was also compelling. But varnished Craig is a dud.

Olivia Colman said she didn't like running, especially marathons, on the Graham Norton Show. Another guest immediately said 'I'll get you started with a warm-up run', to which Olivia said [and I am quoting] "Fuck off! I just said I hate everything about marathon running". For the next five minutes, she wouldn't let it go, until Graham just shut it down. Richard Ayoade had a similar experience on one of the 'Big Fat Quiz' shows, and got really vocal about how some people just can't understand that some people just don't want to do certain things, and that they don't have to just because someone else thinks they should.
Why do they invite that pretentious pretty boy Craig on any show? “I want to ban everything I don’t like, but how dare someone simply not enjoy doing something I like, but be perfectly fine with everyone else doing.” I don’t think anyone would mind if we threw Craig in the room and forgot about him.
Hit the nail on the head. Jon doesn't like dancing, he not talking about shooting people the dance, he just wants to be left alone (I understand and feel the same).

This is one of the funniest episodes of Room 101 ever!
Id be jon richardsons friend for free I love everythig about him x
I love the JR here as usual, and I cringed, felt like I did at primary school, watching how the other guests treated him. Yikes.
awwww that's so cute I notice him doing it but never knew that was the reason why and I totally agree about Craig and Sheila.
Poor Jon.
If i called anyone darling in the workplace HR would be waiting DARLING!
OMG! I would LOVE to have Jon as a "rent a friend"!
I so want to be Jon Richardson's best friend.
My favourite joke: Why did the mushroom go to the party? ... Because he was a fungi! haha. OR Taun tauns don't get hot, they just keep Luke warm. ha!
Yes, David Mitchell would be great. Or even better an episode with him, Frankie Boyle and Charlie Brooker - that definitely wouldn't be boring!
Jon Richardson is just the cutest!
Frank Skinner is a comical genius he's one of the best comedians weve ever had
John has been the only classy one in that room - other guests are appalling.
Awww they're so mean to sweet Jon
Felt so sorry for Jon! :(
Why do they invite that pretentious pretty boy Craig on any show?
“I want to ban everything I don’t like, but how dare someone simply not enjoy doing something I like, but be perfectly fine with everyone else doing.”
I don’t think anyone would mind if we threw Craig in the room and forgot about him.
You are generous with ‘pretty boy’. 😂
Sheila Hancock is still looking well!! Much love to her.
Sheila apparently doesn't understand periods.
I'm new to this show. I really enjoyed it.
jon richardson would be my ideal rent a friend! xD
Hit the nail on the head. Jon doesn't like dancing, he not talking about shooting people the dance, he just wants to be left alone (I understand and feel the same).
I didn't realise how vile Sheila Hancock is.
How can he call Jon dull? He knows nothing about him!
8:18 - The weird thing is... that firework that fell was NOTthe firework that was lifted up at the beginning of the show..... ???? Very strange. - It has different bottom. So, it seems to have been planned for it to fall.....
There is a dirext correlation between IQ and dancing. The higher the IQ the less likely one is to enjoy dancing. EVOLUTION
I feel every one of Jon's points in my fucking soul.
I'm with John! I'd be nice to be able to turn my brain off, from time to time.
