There's no lack of self awareness, he's 100% right. The lack of historical context today by fans and players is worse than the media coverage. He** I took more B.S. from columnist in the LA Times as a high schooler before the social media era when they didn't have to care about being politically correct all the time. You can't play like s**t and expect to control the narrative. You can't t play the game and tell the media how they should cover you. Taking the heat is part of why you get paid so much. Its one of the things that separates a basketball player from a guy who plays basketball.

The black population is 14 percent with a 80 percent ratio hmmm weird and then oh yeah luka had 70 some back handed comment but embid he has 60 and they talk up who they want to and it shows who and why they like or say things that aren't true especially white coaches I've heard all I want hear about mark jackson and him deserving all the credit for setting up Steve kerr... hmmm in sports teams sign rapists if they think they can win if mark Jackson was a winner and that good then he would be coaching! It's not a accident he can't get a job, look at doc rivers worst coach, but look how even when it's undeniable they keep trying, but if it's steve Nash he's some coach hasn't coached a day in his life throw him out there like he failed durant irving harden lol its politics in sports, screaming racism and then they get the platform and it's biased worse and it is clear to someone who has been alive long enough not to be taught to hate your skin color white.

We can thank Skip and SAS for it. They were the founding fathers of "speak negatively and create agendas against certain players to get views and fame". But, Skip took it to another level. where any player he hates or dislikes, he was projecting his insecurities towards them.
Lebron should be the last person to speak about negativity, his camp religiously made it a point to protect him from any blame or accountability by constantly blaming his teammates for his shortcomings.

Criticism needs to be in sports coverage, it can’t be a 24/7 glaze fest. The issue is they care more about hot takes and headlines rather than breaking down the game with insightful analysis. They only care about stars and ring culture not the ins and outs of these sports.

I think SAS sees basketball as worthy of proper criticism and analysis. First take is basically a review show, where they review the performances of the teams, players and coaches. A reviewer can't always give 10/10 or 9/10 reviews. Sometimes you have to give the 1/10 or 2/10 review. LBJ & JJ on the other hand was more of a discussion and analysis podcast.
