It's not referring to lava lakes.

Sounds really outdated, reminds me of the "Fishbowl" that was found in early access that was where you'd find the general area of the containment facility with just that barren sand
That would've been absolutely terrifying if that was able to happen for a first time player but then it would turn into a really annoying thing for a normal player if you play regularly
18:50 when you die you lose anything you got after leaving a base and you can keep one item such as material and one story item like a tablet. Also a quick tip if you make a base with just an I compartment and a hatch and then enter (can be unpowered) you can keep everything and if you deconstruct the hatch you will keep all your items (except the ones from deconstruction) and spawn in the life pod. also make sure you deconstruct it fully or else you'll just spawn there again.
Secondary tip if you kill yourself probably with fall damage in the alien bases you'll go back to your most recent base that you've entered with all your items because you can't drop any items in the bases. (I don't know who this helped but I'm hoping someone.)
You went up to get acid mushrooms and table coral, but you were in the mountain corridor so you could have made a run (or, well, swim) for the surface, although oxygen would probably have a different idea.... Enjoying your content, keep it up!
These videos are cool. Are there any mods that would actually spawn your drop pod at these funny locations? A new playthrough where you don’t spawn in the safe shallows would be fun
I've been doing research. Lol. I don't know which o2 is used first but with just the high capacity tank they don't slow your swim speed by being in your inventory. Which means that when you're under 45 second of air you should unequip your tank. Obviously not having something in your hands makes you swim better. So the reinforced five suit loses you about a meter per second. The O2 tank loses you about half a meter per second. Base speed is around 5 and a half meters per second. The fins basically negate all of that loss with an increase of 1and a half meter. And swim speed is capped at around 7 and a half meters per second. Luckily you didn't have the ultra high capacity tank. Carrying that in your inventory has the highest penalty to speed. It's all very interesting and fun to try and optimize the best way to gain speed to get to where you need to go.
Wait the dive suits slow you down? Radiation suit also? Rebreather? How about the two accessory computer chip slots like the compass? Also there's a mod with special gloves that enable unarmed one hit ore resource harvesting.
@@tokiwartooth4404 I wasn't aware of a mod for unarmed resource breakage but as far as the other items you mentioned I don't think any of them affect swim speed, except the dive suit.
You should do a challenge where you raise the water level up 1000 Meters with the mod the last beacon used for his no water challenge, and try to beat the game. The only problem is that your submarine would get crushed, but you might be able to fix it by going in to the code and changing the crush depth. ( or with a mod )
I think when hes sprinting out of the thermal plant he’s getting a glitch called super seaglide, but maybe I’m wrong, if you don’t know what this glitch is I suggest looking it up
It's so sad they can't make a real game. On PC. Thankfully there's tons of great indie game RPGs with old school turn-based combat and Tactics combat that are really good. And they don't waste their budget on advertising which encourages me to avoid games that are highly marketed. I don't understand how anyone can enjoy these live service games where the objective is to spend money. How is that fun at all? With cost of living that's just insane to squander money like that. Meaning the game is for the top 1% wealthy class where you compete by spending the most money to succeed. Again how is this fun? And it's on a tiny screen with awful touchscreen technology when we have keyboard/mouse and controller technology which is far more efficient. And you can't mod live services being the second worst part of it all. The worst is the insulting pricing model. While falsely claiming it's a free to play in a for-profit world. Blows my mind anyone would install these low IQ live service scams. Also heard Subnautica 3 will be online? Oh no. I hope it's not going that route. Because then it's worthless going the way of Fallout 76.
How the respawn mechanic with dropping items works: If you enter an alien structure or habitat, your inventory will save and the item cannot be lost by dying. Then you can keep one random item you collect after leaving the habitat if you die.
Pssh, the Lava Zone is baby stuff. You should start in the most dangerous zone, the evil and terrifying Shallows! Look! The gargantuan Peeper! The bloodthirsty Bladder Fish. The chonky green boy
And then you have the horrifying kelp forest, with the strong and big Hoverfish, along with the spooky eye eye with its soul taking eyes, and then a scary stalker
For me the easiest way is to get two blue tablets and visit the contaiment facility and use portal inside it, and btw I'm waiting for your next challange and you've got sub

In order to make these challenges slightly more interesting(if you ever plan on doing something like this again) maybe give yourself a stasis rifle with just enough power for 1 shot, so you can save yourself or prevent waiting but only once
When I was coming up with what I wanted to do with that challenge, I did consider making a Stasis Rifle to use for defense against creatures, but decided against it because it requires a battery. But yeah, that definitely would be interesting.

The sprinting thing makes sense since even if the devs noticed they probably wouldn’t care since 99.9% of the time if your not in a base in the lava zone your gonna be in the prawn. (Unless you happen to be, well, you.)
I once made it from fabricator to Maugerit's base, but with equipment. I used that small precursor location in crystal castle (I think) to get oxygen and I had seaglide. I had to do it because Shadow leviathan ate my prawn suit. And survived one leviathan attack.

Your life-pod has sank to the bottom of the Void...Everything around wants to kill you...Resources are Limited... Your One Goal...Reach the Surface by any means necessary, to finally escape this planet for good...

if I recall Ryley has a base amount of oxygen, which is a "seperate" tank per se from your actual tanks. Tanks, much like your armor, have a weight and put a negative speed modifier on you, so it'd be kinda complex I think but, if you could measure your oxygen and then remove your tank when its out but ryley is still breathing, you could probably milk a little extra speed over your early journeys
The oxygen you get without a tank on is Ryley's lung capacity, which I think is 45. All other tanks just add ontop of that, but by the time yoy go down to 45 your tank is empty
